Politics / Re: Nkeiru Onyejeocha Defects From PDP To APC by darealmayo(m): 1:58pm On Aug 24, 2018
Onyejiocha's future has been decided a long time ago. The Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency has always rotated its representatives every 8 years. Onyejiocha has done 12years and wants to go back. That's the root of her problem, coupled with the fact that she openly supported then UCHE Ogah against the present governor. Her fate was sealed long time ago, so she's just trying to hold on to whatever she can. I'm almost sure APC won't even give her ticket because doing that will automatically make them lose votes in Isuikwuato who are speaking with one voice that its their turn. Already, stakeholders in APC in Isuikwuato already held a meeting and decided against her candidacy. Hers is almost a done deal.

Education / Why Are We Destroying The Future by darealmayo(m): 3:43pm On Dec 01, 2017
Her name is Okafor Chinelo Jennifer. She graduated recently as the best graduating student from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, University of Nigeria Nsukka with a First Class degree in the Department of Medical Rehabilitation. Yesterday, the award ceremony was held at the Princess Alexandra auditorium, UNN and she was recognized by the school authorities. Her total prize money was #26000. Look well, I didn't say #260,000 or #2,600,000. I said #26,000 only. All her efforts was valued to be worth #26,000. One of the awards was worth #1000 only. Big Brother Nigeria has just announced #45,000,000 as prize money for next year's show. For God's sake, people spend #26,000 at an outing. And yet you want us to believe in Nigeria, to study hard, to love and cherish our fatherland. Continue!!!! You complain that our youths are being sold out to slavery, without asking what they went to Libya to do. They are only going to Europe because the country they call there's is failing them. Our fathers.... CONTINUE!!!! After someone will tell me not to look for a way and leave the country. Anyways, let me keep quiet before they will say I have a personal interest. After all, what do I even know?...shey they are owing me arrears...how did I even get data for subscription?.... WAKE UP NIGERIA!!!!!! #Rewardexcellence #Dotherightthing #encouragehardwork

Nairaland / General / The Intrigues Of Subsidy Removal by darealmayo(m): 5:38pm On May 12, 2016
We all know that #fuel subsidy removal is the best for our beloved country.. just like we knew in January 2012..but then our present President and his vice, Bola Tinibu, Oshomole, Fashola, Dino Melaye, Femi Falana, Tunde Bakare, El Rufai etc all joined and even encouraged the masses together with organized labor to shut this nation down during the OCCUPY NIGERIA protests...why?.simply because of cheap gains of politics.. All they could have done then was to help educate the citizens on the need for the removal of fuel subsidy..by now market forces would have stabilized the prices of petroleum products..Today, the same persons have done the same thing and they are telling us to endure..worst of all..they are doing it at a time when the price of crude have fallen so drastically, at a time when people are losing their jobs, at a time when the country is finding it hard to finance its budget, at a time when the nation is in chaos, at a time when even the government is finding it hard to pay salaries..and just few days after our national budget was signed...History will never forgive any man who speaks from both sides of his mouth..any man who has not only participated in destroying this nation but is also part of those mortgaging the future of this nation...How can our supposed fathers be so wicked and callous to us..We are all waiting.. lets see what will happen in the next few days..Funny enough..some of us still have those pictures of 2012..and that's the wonders of technology..
Education / Abia State University Refuses To Honour Her Best Graduating Students by darealmayo(m): 10:31pm On Apr 21, 2016
ABSU...#HonourYourBest.... Last week Saturday, 16th April 2016, Abia State University Uturu held her convocation, and it was really an epoch making event. As usual with such programs.. we were all waiting for a major highlight of the event which is THE RECOGNITION OF THE DEPARTMENTAL/FACULTY BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS and THE UNIVERSITY OVERALL BEST GRADUATING STUDENT. Unfortunately, it looked like there was no plans for that. And when finally, the Overall Best Graduating Student, Mr. Councillor Onyeama of the Department of Linguistics & Communication with a cumulative CGP of 4.62 was called up,he was given a minute to give his speech. To make matters worse, the microphone was literally snatched from him on the stage so that the convocation could be declared closed..because the Governor was about to leave..WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT TO EXCELLENCE AND MERIT. None of those students was honoured..not even a congratulatory letter...Habaa!! even primary and secondary schools do better. For some time now, we've been celebrating our friend who made a CGP of 5.0 at Unilag and just recently Imo State University during her convocation honoured her BGS with a cash prize of 2 million naira and a vehicle given to him by Dr. Innocent Chukwuma. Even the Bible encourages excellence and honour..So my questions are (1) ABSU..what is wrong with celebrating excellence and merit. (2) How will you encourage other students if you cannot celebrate these ones. (3) Don't you know that the essence of the public recognition is so others can be challenged. I am not the best student but I know that to be the best takes a lot of effort. Up till now the school has not said anything to them. Even the gowns they wore on that day were paid for by them. It is not right. I'm quite sure that after now, the university would come up to deny it but the fact still remains that what happened on that day was not right. The right thing should be done. I suggest that as a matter of fact, the university should officially apologise to these ones for inviting them to the convocation and not doing the needful. We should learn to encourage EXCELLENCE.I call on the state government and the authorities in ABSU to please do the right thing, and CELEBRATE THESE ONES...#ABSUHonourYourBest...
