BBNaija ‘All Stars’ housemate Kiddwaya has opened up on why he won’t be splitting any fights in Biggie’s house this season.

You may recall that during last night’s fight between Ilebaye and CeeC, Cross had tried to intervene, but Kiddwaya had quickly stepped in and stopped Cross from separating the fight.

During the eviction on Sunday, the show anchor, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu commented on this and Kidd gave his reasons.

According to him, he has had his fair share of splitting fights since his season and has suffered some insults in the process.

He mentioned that he doesn’t intend to stress himself this season, and if the housemates don’t want to act like grown-ups, he would sit back and enjoy watching them make a mess of themselves.

Nairaland / General / Sit-at-home: Mondays Now Economic Empowerment Day In South-east, Says IPOB by Davidmarka: 5:44pm On Aug 05, 2023
The Indigenous People of Biafra said it has now set aside Mondays as an “Economic empowerment day” in the entire South-East.

The pro-Biafran group said the aim is to enable the people to mobilize resources and means towards reversing the sharp decline in the economic, educational, and social sectors of the region caused by the prolonged sit-at-home.

The spokesman for the group, Emma Powerful, stated this in a statement released on Saturday.

Powerful said the move followed the total cancellation of all forms of sit-at-home in the entire South-East as stated in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s handwritten letter which was made public through his counsel Alloy Ejimakor, a few days ago.

The statement read, “Following the total cancellation of all forms of sit-at-home in the entire South-East, as clearly and unequivocally stated in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s handwritten letter.

He has therefore directed the people, to henceforth, set aside every Monday as an ‘Economic empowerment day’ in the entire South-East.

“Economic Empowerment Day connotes a day set aside for mass mobilization of Biafrans, to devote their resources and means towards reversing the sharp and unprecedented decline in the economic, educational, and social needs of our people occasioned by the prolonged sit-at-home.

“During this exercise, the people are encouraged to embark on the massive deployment of their resources for the empowerment of the educationally disadvantaged and poverty-ridden population of our people.

“Through education, employment, health services, sense of identity and community, our people and indeed, the Eastern region can begin to thrive and grow.

“There is an urgent need to reclaim our lost glory by embarking on empowering Biafrans with the resources they need to live beyond mere subsistence as our people are known globally for hard work, resilience, and great achievements.

“This Economic Empowerment Day implies that Biafrans are expected to devote significant time to adhere to their routine calendar schedule template strictly and uninterruptedly to make up for the humongous time lost to the activities of misguided enforcers of unsanctioned Monday sit-at-home order.”

The group reiterated that Kanu’s handwritten letter, which conveyed his message about canceling sit-at-home in the entire South-East, was never written under any duress, compulsion, or influence of any kind.

“Anybody questioning the authenticity of the handwritten letter suspending further Monday sit-at-home is patently dishonest and not worthy to be called a Biafran.

Anybody who claims to know Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will also know that nobody will be courageous enough to coerce him to do anything that will jeopardize the restoration of Biafra.

“Therefore, enough is enough. It is time we consolidate efforts to rebuild our once-envied Eastern region,” the group added.

Nairaland / General / ECOWAS Defers Military Action In Niger, Opts For Dialogue With Coupists by Davidmarka: 2:59pm On Aug 05, 2023
The security committee of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) comprising Military Chiefs of some West African countries, on Friday, said they have rescinded their decision to invade the Niger Republic.

They said they will now use diplomatic means to resolve the political quandary in the West African nation amid a seizure of power by a military junta.

The Chiefs of Defence Staff from Togo, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Cote’Divoire, Cabo Verde, and the Republic of Benin made this known at the end of their two-day high-powered delegation meeting.

The meeting, which started on Wednesday and was chaired by the President of ECOWAS Military Chiefs at Defense Headquarters in Abuja, Gen.

Christopher Musa, was boycotted by the soldiers from Mali, Niger, Guinea, and Burkina Faso.

Reading the communiqué from the meeting to journalists, Gen. Musa said they resolved to intensify diplomatic efforts to engage with all relevant stakeholders and ensure dialogue and negotiation are at the forefront of the approach to resolving the crisis in the Republic of Niger.

Musa said, “It has been an honor to preside over this extraordinary meeting on the situation of the recent coup in the Niger Republic as the President of this honorable committee of the CDS of ECOWAS States.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your insightful contributions, thoughtful deliberations, and unwavering commitment to the cause of peace and stability in our region.

“Throughout our discussions, we have collectively recognized the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for a well-coordinated response. The deliberations have been marked by a spirit of unity, cooperation, and determination to address the challenges at hand.

“We have examined the immediate implications of the coup on the Niger Republic and its potential ripple effects across the ECOWAS region. We have also deliberated on the broader implications for democracy, peace, and stability in West Africa.

“I am pleased to note that our discussions have yielded valuable insights and actionable recommendations. We have acknowledged the need for a comprehensive approach that encompasses political, security, and diplomatic dimensions.

“It is imperative that we translate our deliberations into concrete actions that can effectively address the crisis and prevent a recurrence in the future.

“Firstly, we must emphasize the importance of upholding democratic principles and the rule of law.

The coup in the Niger Republic represents a blatant disregard for these fundamental principles that underpin our regional integration and stability. We must unequivocally condemn such actions and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to democracy.

“Secondly, we must strengthen our regional security architecture and enhance our collective response to security challenges. The coup in the Niger Republic has highlighted the fragility of our region and the need for a robust and proactive security framework.

“We must enhance intelligence sharing, joint training exercises, and capacity-building initiatives among our defense and security forces to effectively combat threats to our collective security and enhance interoperability.

“Thirdly, we must intensify our diplomatic efforts to engage with all relevant stakeholders. Dialogue and negotiation should be at the forefront of our approach to resolving the crisis in the Republic of Niger.

“We must engage with the transitional authorities, civil society organizations, and other key actors to foster an inclusive and peaceful transition process.”

Also, speaking, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, ECOWAS, Amb. Abdel-Fatau Musah said the authority of the Heads of State of ECOWAS was committed to eradicating of all forms unconstitutional takeover of power in the sub-region.

He said there had been about eight to nine successful and unsuccessful coups in West Africa in the last three years, adding that all memberships of ECOWAS were led by a democratically elected president three years ago.

Musah stated that the threat of military takeover in West Africa had become pronounced in recent times, saying that efforts must be made to address the situation if the region must not become the laughing stock of Africa and the world.

He said the meeting of the defense chiefs was guided by the Protocol relating to the mechanism for conflict prevention, management, resolution, peacekeeping, and security, which was adopted in 1999 and signed up by all Member States in 2001.

“Respected chiefs of defense staff of our region, this is a clarion call to you. This is a test of the will of our militaries to demonstrate that we are having a democratically minded military whose responsibility is the protection of the state.

“So the diplomacy is being given a chance to succeed and as we said, the military option is the very last on the table. And if we can avoid that, a peaceful resolution is our preferred option but we have to prepare for all eventualities.

“The time has come again for ECOWAS to show that we are a rules-based organization, we are rule-based countries; we cannot allow the rule by the Ballot Box to be replaced by the rule of Kalashnikovs,” he said.
