Car Talk / Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by daVinci1(m): 3:24pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
I was unceremoniously delisted from the WhatsApp Benz forum. When I was added, no one listed the rules for me to follow. And no remedial chance was given for 'erring' members. I'd like to be added again pls with the rules made known to me as well so I can follow and enjoy my membership of that forum. 08037791335. |

Car Talk / Re: Decotech In Aba. (2wks Free Scan) CLOSED by daVinci1(m): 8:49pm On Jul 05, 2015 |
DECOtech: Yes, I met with Decotech this evening and, true to his promise, he scanned my Kia. I was really impressed. He drove out to meet me at Abayi not minding the annoying Aba rains and bad roads. He seemed quite nice. @Decotech God bless u bro. |
Car Talk / Re: All You Need To Know About KIA by daVinci1(m): 12:13pm On Jul 05, 2015 |
VictorAB: Thanks again. The Kia Cerato model is 2009/2010, 1.6L manual transmission. I bought it used by a Nigerian so the warranty (if available) was not transferred after the sale. Could u pls drop your contact so can talk? |
Car Talk / Re: All You Need To Know About KIA by daVinci1(m): 2:13pm On Jun 13, 2015 |
VictorAB: Tnx Victor for stopping by. My Kia Cerato key remote stopped working so I manually have to unlock the doors and open the trunk as well (quite difficult, I tell u). What would it cost me to get a functional replacement at a good price? Then the audio control buttons on my steering wheel aren't working anymore. Without breaking the bank, what help can I get from u? I live in Aba, Abia State. |

Nope. It's not stabiliser links, bro. The noise comes from the neck of the steering. Let me post a similar case posted by another victim Watch "Kia Forte/Cerato Knocking Steering Sound" on YouTube - Kia Forte/Cerato Knocking Steering Sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBTdDzQ3ris |

Hi folks, my 2010 Cerato is giving me headache. I hear a knocking sound when u turn the steering left and right. Mechanics here have suggested that it poses no danger bu the sound is uncomfortable and most obvious when I drive over a pot-hole or a bump. It seems to be a common problem with Kia from my online researches.Had anyone experienced this or has solutions to it? |
Car Talk / Re: Brand New Kia Cerato Vs Used Japanese by daVinci1(m): 8:09pm On Oct 22, 2014 |
Folks, some of these brand new Korean cars are sometimes not as economical in maintenance as the tokunbo version of their Japanese counterparts. My 2009 Kia Cerato is having issues as I write this and I'm spending more than I expected. My A/C condenser is damaged and it weakened the compressor. It's a manual (and I love me some manual anyday). But the master cylinder of the brake, I was told by mechanics, is bad causing the brake pedal to hit the floor any time I step on it for up to a minute. Can anyone help me get an affordable replacement parts and service? I live in Aba. Thanks in advance. |

Politics / Re: Analysing The Analysts And Their Analyses: A Look At Nigerian Columnists by daVinci1(m): 2:47pm On Sep 23, 2014 |
Wow! I just stumbled on this topic after all these years! Guess I must have been sleeping. We seem to share a lot in common here 'cos I also picked my interest in Nigerian news media in the early 80s as a kid. My dad, after reading, would toss the mags on the dining table for whatever reason. I would feast on any readable stuff then. From Time to Newsweek (columnists like Joe Klein et al), African Guardian (Mokwugo Okoye, Irabor et al), African Concord (Lewis Obi et al) to the groundbreaking Newswatch powered by Dele Giwa and crew. I followed Giwa's Parallax Snaps briefly, albeit with a child's mindset, until the letter bomb saga. I'm surprised no one here mentioned the master of satire, Dan Agbese whose word craft inspired over 70 percent of today's columnists. He is easily one columnist I miss his write ups so much today. You guys just met Nduka Obaigbena as a media 'mafia' today without tracing his roots. This guy, I must say, has come along way in the media. He alone competed with the soar away Newswatch when he floated his Thisweek, styled after America's Newsweek. And can he write too! Don't you all wonder why he was able to assemble these good writers if he didn't know his onions in the field. And to think he was in his 20s then... Wow! One outstanding incident then was in 1987 when IBB proscribed Newswatch. Ray Ekpu, Agbese, Yakubu Mohammed - the surviving trio after Giwa - carried on with their firebrand type of journalism egged on by a cheering audience and a fearless Gani Fawehinmi. Obaigbena, as Editor-in-Chief of Thisweek, wrote a very significant editorial. It was handwritten! And just a sentence: He left a whole editorial space blank and at the end of the page wrote: "...that the ban on NEWSWATCH be lifted!" This touching but creative gesture left an indelible impression in my young mind hence I kept a copy of this edition till this day. Despite the fact that they were in competition, somewhat, he sacrificed a whole editorial page! Thank you guys for taking me back in time. I agree with what you wrote about most of the columnists though some names ought to be included. Keep it up guys. Someday, I will post my top 20 columnists. Ciao. 1 Like |

Phones / Re: Bonus Airtime from MTN! by daVinci1(m): 1:12pm On Aug 02, 2005 |
I find it difficult to believe whatever MTN says about bonuses. I loaded N1500 on saturday and got nothing! Although my friend got something, i got nothing. Anyway, i hope to change to Glo soon where i feel my expectations would be redeemed whenever they say so. Only fools believe in MTN. |
