After my 100level engineering in Uniben, prospective 200l students stay behind in school during the supposed holiday for what the school calls UBIT (university of Benin industrial training). It was during this Ubit one evening after lectures I went with my friends to hall 2. Hall 2 is a girl's hostel but because the school was on holiday, it was used for guys while hall 1 was for girls. So, that evening say about 7 or 8pm in one of the rooms in hall 2, a guy came to the door and said, "I dey look for Stephen, where Stephen, I dey look for Stephen". Mind you we were about 5 guys in the room, no courtesy or anything so no one responded to him. I decided to respond by saying "Stephen don die" the guy ignored me and continued asking his question, every one ignored him except me repeating, "I say Stephen don die". He then faced me, "guy Wetin dey worry you, you dey craze?" I responded "na you dey craze, you no dey hear wetin I dey talk?" He was shocked that I could reply him so boldly with so much authority... So he asked, "who you be? I no know you. Na me be frank black. Black means , I be 500l civil engineering student... Go ask of me... So who you be?" I responded by saying "Bleep you guy, forget all those rubbish.. see make I tell you, that thing when U put your mind na em I go take treat you and handle you.. I went on to tell him my name and I be 200l civil engineering student". The guy left angrily and said I go hear from am... After the whole saga, I thought of everything and decided to leave for my house immediately. Apparently I left but on my way I remembered I left something in the room so I had to return back to the room to go and collect it. On reaching the room back I saw Stephen... Immediately I entered, they told him, see the guy... Stephen looked at me and said "guy, as I see you I just weak... As Frank tell me Wetin happen na so I don dey run since dey come say once I see the guy, na slaps I go just dey pour for him face and we go end up for fight but as I just see you now, I tire... Bros, please you are in trouble ohhhh.... I don beg Frank tire, he tell me say he don hear but I know Frank.... I still dey ile-ife when I don dey hear about frank... Bros I have been rusticated from university 4 times... I dey try to put my head down here make I fit graduate... Please if you know anyone, go and look for how to beg Frank.. e go hard ohh butttt. Frank has gotten all the details he needs about you... He told me full name, my level, everything about me but what they got wrong was where I lived. They said I lived in Ekosodin but I lived inside the school campus in SSQ. That was a part of my saving grace. He said there is a guy in my department that I should look for him, his name is temple... His eyes are always red and he is always high..." Truly as he said I looked for the guy and I saw him and he was as he was described. Furthermore, I started to be very careful in school, I don't walk again I only enter cab, I promised myself that I will not step my foot out of school until I settle the matter... Now I had 2 options, 1. To call an eye no's 1 man who was a very close person to me to come and intervene for me or to go and beg Frank.. the issues in both cases were 1. If I call the eye man and he intervenes for me, which mouth will I be able to use to tell him that I will not join his cult when he asked me to join? If I want to beg Frank, who will I approach you beg Frank that he will listen to? I put it in prayer and decided to seek help... I went to his class and met some of his classmates.... I also got the same answer.... The answer was always, which frank? There are 2 Frank's in the class, what is his surname? The truth is, they all knew who I was talking about but they didn't want to involve in his matter.. in the end I met one guy in his class... His name was Obanor.. he is a tall lanky guy and the arrow of the class... He can look for anyone's trouble and go free.. they all know him to be like that... When I met him he actually couldn't differentiate which frank it was but I saw the willingness to assist in him.. so, while we were still deliberating on it, engineering speaker one Alluya was passing by and Obanor called him and asked him if he saw Frank... Alluya asked which frank? Frank black or ?? Immediately Obanor called him and asked him to come and that was where the journey to freedom came... Everything was narrated to Alluya and Alluya said ahhhh.. "frank?" There is no time to waste... We must go and see Frank now.... Like now now... The next minute may be too late.. so he called Frank and asked him where he was and that he was coming to see him over a very important issue.. and Frank responded anything for my Oga... Apparently they were in the same cult but Alluya was very well respected... Finally, we went to meet him at main gate... There is a joint opposite the school main gate where cultist always hang out... When we got there, Alluya asked Frank if he knew me, Frank said oh yes called my name and all but he initially pretended not to know me.... So Alluya asked him if he knew why he was here, Frank asked if it was because of me?.. So Alluya entered by begging Frank and telling him that I am his nephew and my mum who happens to be his mother's younger sister brought me to him(Alluya) and placed my hands on his hands handing me over to him... That should frank proceed to harm me or do anything to me, he has done it directly to him... He pleaded with Frank and told Frank he was willing to kneel down on my matter to show how serious it was.. frank responded by saying, "chaiii this man.. (me) you went too far ohhh.. but when my Oga has spoken, who am I? He cautioned me to always be very careful and he asked me if I remember someone that was killed under a mango tree some weeks ago... I said yes, he asked me do u know his offence, I said no he said 2 cultists were having an issue the guy came out of his room to tell them that they were disturbing him and that he was reading for his exams.. the next day he was killed not to talk of my own... Anyway, he accepted the plead and assured me that I should be a good boy and face my books but that I should buy them 4 cartons of beer.... I had only #200 on me which could but maybe one bottle but last last they allowed me go sha...
The next day, I had a practical in Uniben other campus so I had to go but still scared, I entered only the school bus that loaded from inside the school.. on coming back, the bus said everyone must come down in front of the school gate before they entered.... I resisted that I must be taken inside but they refused.... I looked outside and checked very well to be sure everywhere was clear before I came down... Shockingly as I stepped my feet down from the bus I heard my name from my back lo and behold it was frank. He called me and greeted me and asked how my practical went? He also said, if like say yesterday never happen, I don catch you be this... He wished me well and we parted... That was where my mind calmed down and I was sure I was free.... Till I left school, I no ever look for anyone trouble again....
