Career / Companies In The Habit Of Paying Late Salaries. by delta12(m): 2:58pm On Sep 06, 2010 |
I recently read a post, where the poster was asking a question on why companies pay salaries late. So I was thinking. Why dont we nairalanders list most of the companies we know that are in this habit. At least so that the whole world would know them, and see if they'd change their habit. Fortunately I have never worked in any of such companies, but I know the pain when friends poor out their cry. One example I've heard about is Gloworld, PLEASE NAME YOURS. |
Crime / Re: Ilorin Shooting: Five Policemen To Face Orderly Room Trial by delta12(m): 5:32pm On Aug 25, 2010 |
I think I now understand what happened. The Trailer was a year 2050 Model, that has the tyres located by the side of the driver. The bullets used was a reflexive remote controlled bullet. So when shot, it pierced through the tyre, got the driver, bounced back and made a few hits on the motor boy, before it settled. The police man tried to control the bullet with the remote, but was not able to locate the stop botton on time. Hope this is a better story? |

I wonder why young graduates would be seeking for contract jobs. Whats the aim/idea backing this decision, is it that u might det employed after a year working as a contract staff with them. You should first see how these contract staff are treated before drawing conclusions on looking for those jobs. Cos it wont take you a long while before u start regretting your decisions. Please look before you leap. |
Religion / Re: Did Jesus Have Brothers? by delta12(m): 6:17pm On Jun 25, 2009 |
No2Atheism: Well am so surprised how people would talk of religion and churches like this. You talked about the early fathers of the catholic church as not writing the bible. Well if you should be a lil educated, the catholic church was the first church. The scriptures which is preached by most churches inclusive of Anglican church was compiled by the Early chuch which were more of catholic before the break of orthodox, Anglican and the protestants. Well goin to the history of the Anglican church, i believe this would help throw more light to your knowledge. The English church was under papal authority for nearly a thousand years, before separating from Rome in 1534 during the reign of King Henry VIII. A theological separation had been foreshadowed by various movements within the English church such as Lollardy, but the English Reformation gained political support when Henry VIII wanted an annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon so he could marry Anne Boleyn. Under pressure from Catherine's nephew, the Emperor Charles V, Pope Clement VII refused the annulment. Eventually, Henry, although theologically a doctrinal Catholic, took the position of Supreme Head of the Church of England to ensure the annulment of his marriage. He was excommunicated by Pope Paul III[6]. Henry maintained a strong preference for traditional Catholic practices and, during his reign, Protestant reformers were unable to make many changes to the practices of the Church of England. Indeed, this part of Henry's reign saw the trial for heresy of Protestants as well as Roman Catholics. Under his son, Edward VI, more Protestant-influenced forms of worship were adopted. Under the leadership of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, a more radical reformation proceeded. A new pattern of worship was set out in the Book of Common Prayer (1549 and 1552). These were based on the older liturgy but influenced by Protestant principles. The confession of the new reformed church was set out in the Forty-two Articles (later revised to thirty-nine). The reformation however was cut short by the death of the king. Queen Mary I, who succeeded him, sought to return England again to the authority of the Pope and undo the reforms. Many leaders and common people were burnt for their refusal to recant of their reformed faith. These are known as the Marian martyrs and the persecution has led to her nickname of "Bloody Mary". Mary also died childless and so it was left to the new regime of her half-sister Elizabeth to resolve the direction of the church. The settlement under Elizabeth I (from 1558), known as the Elizabethan settlement, developed the via media (middle way) character of the Church of England, a church moderately Reformed in doctrine, as expressed in the Thirty-nine Articles, but also emphasising continuity with the Catholic and Apostolic traditions of the Church Fathers. It was also an established church (constitutionally established by the state with the head of state as its supreme governor). The exact nature of the relationship between church and state would be a source of continued friction into the next century" From this you would realise that the anglican church was made for the selfish reason (greed) of one man Henry vii who only wanted a wife ( for name continuity) hence seeking for divorce and re marriage to Anne. As for all the prayers issue i am surprise you said you went to "convent" (should be Seminary for guys) cos with that you ought to have understood that catholics never prayed to mary to saints. I believe your grievance could be personal else you'd take off the dirt in your eyes before that of others. About me being a catholic its not relevant cos i go to many churches and worship for the sake of heaven and good. If you worship your church, then they would take you to their heaven, but i believe its rather God you worship. with comments like yours a Muslim might even be closer to heaven than yourself. Please people lets remove this catholicism and denomination thing and talk of the question at hand with Facts. I have really learnt a lot from this post such as the Greek word for cousin and brothers and lots more. Kindly send information that would be beneficial to this discuss rather than criticizing churches. |
Religion / Re: Woes Of The Catholic Church by delta12(m): 4:46pm On Jun 22, 2009 |
Its quite a shame to see many you guys castigating the Catholic church for what was done in Brazil. we all have seen stories of Pastors, committing murder, raping people and all sorts of atrocities; churches springing up for the main purpose of generating wealth ( i even know of a popular one where pastors build their parishes as investments). I f i should go on. I am a catholic and proud to be one, having attended several churches (for visits) without criticism and still stuck to my faith. You would all agree with me that the Catholic church is the most organised on earth, and that all other churches sprung out of it. I really sympathize with the scenario but strongly believe this thread "religion" is not for criticising churches as we all have one aim which is wining the race and achieving the crown (Heaven) through Jesus Christ. Please focus your strength on criticising Muslims who preach against Christianity. |

chukwudi44:\ I was not really preview to this information in the past mark15:40 and John 19:25. I believe the bible has never contradicted itself seeing the word in Isaiah and these stories about Jesus's brothers. You've really spoken well. |

Horus: Brother although i find your discuss interesting, but i did not actually help in bringing to a conclusion, rather stating that Jesus was black, Even if he was, the question is about his sibblings. Although i would like to get more facts on your opinion, also help in clarifying my view. |
Religion / Did Jesus Have Brothers? by delta12(m): 1:50pm On Jun 19, 2009 |
I have read parts of the bible, where the brothers of Jesus were talked about and other part were twas said that mary died a virgin. Also crowning it is the part in Isaiah were twas said that no one would pass through the same road he passed and some people relating that to the birth. So kindly send your suggestions to convince me about the actual state of Jesus's family |

I had to relax a little and get the whole process settled with before posting this, The night after i got my offer letter with KPMG, i received 2 text messages from access bank; one,That i should come for medicals the next day, and the other an interview for 20th July. After the medicals and the interview i was offered "provisional employment" to their training school, and what they said their offer after the 4 months training was, was quite above KPMG, I went for the training school induction and men i could say it is worth going for, But "unfortunately" I had made my choice KPMG, Fellow nairalanders , I have been seeing people post of more than one opportunity , and never knew i would be in that shoes, But i would still say it all comes from Dedication to God (with Prayers) and and a Little hard work, With these i believe u'd tell my testimony. olubunmi80:Use Sorex's Advce thats the basic you need. |

Guess i should continue the from where i stopped, Luckily KPMG posted their test to the 13th thats a Friday, man after which the results were released on same day and i succeeded, access released theirs a week after and it was also a success as at now I've just picked up my offer later from KPMG after a series of interview and subsequently medicals. As for access bank they've not yet called after my first interview with them. I am so happy that my prayers has been answered KPMG's pay package for a beginner is far better than most banks, God granted my heart desire and gave me a package i dreamed of, My advice to all job seekers in Nairaland is dare any organisation, with your application especially those privileged with a 2:1. With prayers and a straight part i believe you can always achieve your goals. 2 Likes |

You know with all these events happening and he standing at the fore front to say that his predecessor was innocent opf the loot charges leveled against him, i agree that really he paid himself for the transition little wonder our current leaders cannot prosecute him for his act, They are so grateful |
Politics / Was Abdusallam Abubakar Innocent? by delta12(m): 9:55am On Jun 10, 2008 |
The recent trend of event seems to make me so inquisitive, with Buhari and Abdusallam denying Abacha's loot. This makes wonder if Abdusallam himself was guilty of looting since he was not prosecuted. I guess Nigerians swept the Oputa panel issue under the carpet, The response by these past leaders was imminent since they were never tried for their corrupt acts hence their defense for the dead. I begin to wonder was it my fathers loot that was returned from Swiss Bank? Well i would finally say that our past military heads should be tried and prosecuted, as this would serve as a determent to incumbent and aspirating presidents. I really would like to know, was Abdusallam Innocent? |
