The Express & Star report that Rafa Benitez's side are mulling over a move for the Baggies forward to serve as a backup striker at the Stadio San Paolo.

Odemwingie infamously drove to Loftus Road on transfer deadline day in January to try and engineer a move to Queens Park Rangers but the move backfired with QPR stating they hadn't received permission from his club to speak to him. He also became a bit-part player at the Hawthorns and was overlooked by manager, Steve Clarke for a considerable number of the games in the second half of the season.
