Isn’t it ironic how they choose a donkey to represent their frustrations? Instead of constructive dialogue, they resort to mockery. Tinubu is busy working on solutions while they parade around with animals. Time for real conversations, not distractions.

Are you saying Mr president didn't know what's going on in the country until protest kick off.

Must we dialogue before our voice could be heard?
Before you start calling Obedient, I'm a Yoruba man and supporter of Tinubu during last year elections. We need to call a spade, a spade. President Tinubu policies so far is anti people, hunger is no respecter of anybody, and can bring the inhumane attitude in man if it's not properly checked.

While I do not support the idea of these rubbish palliiatives, at least President distributed rice to all the states to ameliorate the condition of the citizens to certain extent, however the big elephant in the room sit on it - the Governors.

Till each state directs the fury of the protest to the Governor instead of the President.

Oyo State Governor has never taken leave in his life as a Governor but will commence leave on Monday during the protest. Is that not the time, as the number i Chief Security Officer, to ensure calm and security in the states. But he is fearful like the rest and tactically taking the easier route out to escape the fury of the people.

Deal with the Governors in your states first, who squander monthly allocations due to your state before you think of Presidency.
The policies of the FG are what masses are protesting against not what governors are using their monthly allocation for. Though the people of a state needs to complain state policies, infrastructure and the likes, so this protest is good and also directed at the right people

Well I partially agree with you, but the system is bad so you try to be a hero you pay the price.

A bad system cannot produce positive results that is how the world runs brother, if you ask me again can there be a just officer in the NPF? My answer is no...
An orange tree cannot give you an apple the same way a corrupt system cannot produce positive results, even if you are just such a system would either corrupt you or eliminate you depending on your will power...
Nigerians keep on sympathetically expecting good from corruption it is a natural trail, and the results are seen in our chosen leaders. Make I stop here...
I knew the system is corrupt but only pointed out how the protest should be done. Violence free protest through out every nook and cranny of the country that would shook the nation isi what is needed right now.

Reading this below (which I didn't write) do you really believe that is Tinubu's main focus?

Recently, Oando PLC announced the approval to acquire 100% of Nigerian Agip Oil Company. This effectively means that the Tinubu family now owns Agip Oil.
One might wonder why such a successful company would divest 100% of such a critical asset, except somehow forced.

With that likely forced acquisition of Agip Oil by Oando PLC and his refinery in Malta, Tinubu as an individual has become the largest oil exporter, explorer, and marketer in the whole country, second only to NNPC.

After Tinubu was sworn in as president, his first major move was to announce the removal of fuel subsidy, while the government continued to pay in secret, allowing him to increase petroleum product prices. This move was designed to benefit his own monopoly.

Here’s the pattern: Tinubu, through NNPC, will sell Nigeria’s oil to himself at a low price via his refinery company in Malta. He will also explore, extract and export oil using his newly acquired Agip Oil Company.

Tinubu will then buy back the refined oil from his company in Malta through NNPC and as an oil marketer via one of his companies OVH Energy (Oando) at a higher price and export them back to Nigeria
The refined oil is sold to the Nigerian public at a high price, while the subsidy, although officially removed, is still being paid secretly. Essentially, Tinubu is paying himself subsidy.‼️

Naptu over to you can you please investigate this claim?

There are so many competent police officers in the country

If it happen by consdence you are appointed as IGP, you will have to do the bidding of Mr president or else you will get yourself fired and immediately you are gone, many would be jostling for the job

On the topic,if protest are confined in one spot can't be regarded as protest in my own opinion , even those protesters ( say no to protest) were not confined in one spot, the question is, why protesters ( #endbadgocernance) are to be stagnated?

It's common sense. The protest would be hijacked. Some people only want to hide behind protest and do whatever plans they had in mind for quite some time. Better not to protest at all.

The Kenyan youths that have been protesting for some weeks now, how many investors have they sent away from their country? Isn't that going to cost job loss?

How about the destructions of properties which the business owners are still counting their loses.

Abi untimely deaths of Kenya youths all in the name of this protest.

We can't be complaining of hardship and add more hardship to the already on ground

Laws create jobs, our laws are not been enforced because the lawmakers don't want to be caught by the laws they are making. Go and recall your senators and representatives.
I didn't hear these in 2012 why am I hearing this now? Protest is in evitable. An hungry they say is an angry man. Though I supported Tinubu election doesn't mean I have keep silent like a fool. Time is now

Cause they have good wingers and midfield, unlike England,
England also have good wingers and midfielders , the major problem is the coach inability to get the best out of the players through team spirit.

Benching palmer was not a bad strategy. Every team needs a "joker" who is introduced in time of need. Palmer should be brought in around 50 or 60 minutes.
His shortcomings were:

1. Playing Foden and Bellingham together. (both players are roamers)
2. Keeping Kane on the pitch for too long
3. Playing Trent Alexander as a DMF (though he corrected this later on)

Palmer is the most informed attacker in the england squad and he suppose to be among starting XI.
His trial and error tactics failed him and I believed he's longer than the one who is to be experimenting .
Sports / Re: Southgate Resigns After England's Euro 2024 Loss by Demurray: 2:53pm On Jul 16, 2024
The mistake southgate has made in the EURO 2024 was not starting the informed players like Palmer, Watkins and Gordon, Rice and Bellingham played abysmal though i think its owing to fatigue, having played nearly all minutes in the tournament
I knew benching Kane is a hard decision to take but he should have courage to do the needful for the benefit and success of the team

All the same ,well done southgate, the best manager england had so far, wishing you a brilliant success in your future endeavors

Yeah but he didn't sell it, he was silenced with the money since he has no money to claimed his victory in the court also the state judiciary are the one to judge the case, which are already in the pockets of the state governor

Or electronic transmission of results.
It's easier at LG level. Everybody knows their Ward's result and can easily be added up to know who actually wins
You are right but if the REC conduct the election, sope Otis lo. .
We had experience it in our local government before, in which the incumbent chairman refused to perform and the commuter decided to vote him out as he's contesting for the second term.
On the election day, we voted for another candidate and won when we added results of the wards together even squarely, but when the result were announced by the REC it was the incumbent that won , the governor called him and gave him brown envelope to shut up or else......
That's how it was swept under the carpet
Politics / Re: LG Autonomy Can't Work, Nobody Emerges Chairman Without The Govs - Ayo Fayose by Demurray: 12:13pm On Jul 15, 2024
To largely extent, the ex- governor was right and what made him to be sure of what he's saying is that fact that the LG election would be conducted by REC which is control by the governor.

I have been saying this right from the day of the judgement that the best way to go is to allow INEC to conduct the LG elections and should be scheduled the same day as the governorship elections. Though the governor may have impact in some LG to not all.

How?

The only reason why things never work can be found in the I-don’t-care attitude of the citizens. Nigerians are easily able to digest all the recklessness of the political class and yet praise them to the highest heavens.

If we must practice democracy, we must follow up in all the sense of it. We watch other democratic nations talking about their local councils. We see how local councils benefit the citizens. One wonders how governors, past and present, sermonize us on how allowing local governments run appropriately would not work.

We already know that Nigerian politics is godfather based. We know that even a Presidential candidate needs some powers that be to help him get there, how much less a governor and other political office holders. Who holds most of them by the scruff of their necks when they assume office? Even the President is checkmated by the National Assembly. So what’s Fayose talking about state assemblies? He can fool some including himself, but he cannot fool everyone. He must grow beyond his jaguda politics. A man who shortchanged his own party in the last Presidential election should not be telling us such crap. He should bow his face in shame.

We all now know that it is the law to forward local government funds directly into their accounts. We await to see that local government chairman who would forward his local government’s funds into the state government account, as a show of loyalty.

Having attained success at the Supreme Court, next would be the states to mind their areas of jurisdiction and allow local government carry out their statutory functions as spelt out by the constitution.

We would like to see INEC conducting local government elections and not state electoral commissions. We saw the examples last weekend with Adamawa and Delta states, where the ruling parties won the entire seats. That’s the loophole for governors to hold local governments by the jugular. With INEC, all parties would participate and equitable representation would be guaranteed all citizens.

We would expect EFCC and ICPC to be very active in the local governments, formulating policies that would protect the resources for development in their accounts.
Absolutely spot on💪

We are talking about grassroot where people are very close to the local government Secretariat , hence the people won't hesitate to hold the elected officers accountable if they refuse to perform
