Widall: Respect to all the gurus in this thread. May the Lord reward u guys abundantly for ur selfless services u render on this thread.
I am a young medical lab scientist wishing to migrate to Australia. i understand that our assessing board in Aussie assess medical lab scientists (MLS) from Nigeria as medical lab technicians (MLT). I wish to apply under the 189 visa subclass which does not require POF as i dont have enough fund in my account. My challenge now is the occupation MLT is no longer on 189. though MLS is still on 189. Which visa type should I apply to that wont require POF. I'm interested in this too |

Widall: Lagosismyhome, Twoods, and everyone . my cousin wants to do her masters in the US. there is an error in her WAEC cert. Her DOB is 22nd July 1992. but it shows 22nd June 1992 in her WAEC cert. she is trying to apply for international passport. which DOB should she put that will not affect her during visa interview. thanks Ain't u guys worried for nothing. Does a masters student really need waec certificate to apply for visa? |

lydia19: Hello everyone, I have been a silent follower for over 2 months. My visa was approved this morning at Lagos Embassy. Many thanks to Damilare5882 for taking his time to help edit my mock transcript and Twoods and also everyone who has contributed to this thread.
VO: Good morning ME: Good morning sir VO: So tell me why you are going to the US? ME: I am going to the US to study and acquire my masters degree in Public health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. VO: Why masters degree? ME: The first degree is not competitive enough and the masters degree will give me the knowledge and skills that I need to work with the Federal Ministry of Health, and other public health non governmental organizations in order to reduce disease burden in Nigeria. VO: What is your first degree? ME: Microbiology VO: Tell me what you learnt in school about microbiology? ME: Microbiology is the study of micro-organisms. Microbiology has different branches such as environmental microbiology, Food microbiology, Industrial microbiology and Medical microbiology. VO: Tell me about Environmental Microbiology ME: Environmental Microbiology is the study of micro- organisms in the environment. Some micro-organisms can be harmful while some can be useful. For example, some micro-organisms can be used to degrade wastes in the enivornment. Although we have some wastes called recalcitrant wastes that do not degrade such as Plastics and Iron. VO: How many schools did you apply to? ME: 3 VO: Name them ME: University of North Texas Health science center, West virginia University and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences VO: How many admitted you? ME: The three VO: Why are you not going to University of North Texas Health Science Center? ME: I prefer UAMS because it has a school of Public health that is accredited by the Council on Education for Public health in the US. I will get to work with Professor Brooke Montgomery on her research aimed at examining HIV and STIs disparities in the vulnerable populations and also developing behavioural interventions for sexual risks. Also, they have a curriculum for masters in public health where you get community experience which enables you to apply what you learn in class to the real life. VO: How did you hear abt UAMS? ME: I did an extensive research on schools that offer public health in the US using professional sites such as association of schools for programs of public health and sophas.org and I narrowed down my search to UAMS because their curriculum aligns with my career goals. VO: Did you write GRE or GMAT ME: GRE VO: Are you married? ME: NO VO: Do you have any children? ME: NO VO: Who is your sponsor? ME: My mother waited for some minutes VO: OK, I will be approving your visa now. ME: Thank you sir VO: You will get an email.....bla....bla....

goodemma20: my dear there is nothing serious to worry about in the quant section, there are a lot of books that start from the very scratch like the Manhattan series. Make sure you read such books, moreover, the quant section does not test you on complex and advanced mathematics. it analyses your reasoning skills using basic mathematics. Ace the GRE to increase your chances of scholarship, it will also increase your chances of securing a visa. Oga the Manhattan series u talked about how can one get it? |

EZEIGBO2OFIMO: It's a fancy type of application letter you write, stating your plans, for some graduate schools admissions; all intending doctoral Candidates are under compulsion to write one, while some Masters (Thesis Based) require it. thanks bro |

Well, it depends on the school. If the school wants it directly sent to them, then you have no other option. Some schools want it directly mailed to them from the get-go before they give admission, while some schools like UMD or UTEP will accept scanned copies online for admission purposes and if admitted UMD will have you mail in an official copy from your undergrad university to them to finalize your admission while for UTEP, they don't need an actual physical copy after being admitted. All they need you to do is show them the physical copy of the scanned one you uploaded for admission after you arrive and that satisfies the requirement. While some schools don't want any thing direct but want WES evaluation instead.
In the end it depends on the school you are applying to. So you have to select your schools and know their criteria as regards transcripts and work accordingly to what they want. thanks for your input bro. seems u are a super lion. can u mention some good schools offering masters in medical lab sci or related courses |

femi312: Thats why you have to do your research yourself, many good schools like Virginia Tech, Michigan Tech, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Northwestern University still allow unofficial transcript for Engineering courses. Go on Google and get to work. thanks for your input bro. can u mention some good schools offering masters in medical lab sci or related courses |

Yes if applying from UNN, unfortunately you'd have to pay N35,000 for each copy. Mehn dats crazy. more than 100k for transcript alone. So schools don't accept applicants to upload their transcripts themselves? |

Check your schools requirements. Some schools will accept online upload for admission decision but you must also have it sent directly from your school before resumption. However, some schools require it directly from your school ( official copy) OK thanks |
