Politics / Re: FG Moves To Revive Cotton, Textile Industries by DEngr: 5:48pm On Sep 21, 2019
Despirado121:
The Federal Government has reinstated its commitment towards reviving the Cotton, Garment and Textile industry to create more employment opportunities for Nigerians, Igbere TV reports.

This was made known in a statement released on Friday, September 20th on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, obtained by Igbere TV.

Giving the assurance, the Minister said;

“From 1985 to 1986, our textile industry was in good shape. During this period, Nigeria’s textile materials were one of the best in Africa and beyond until importation of textile into the country between 1987 to 1990, which has led us to the state we are now.

“Textile, garment and cotton industry are the core of the Agro-Allied industry. The industry is capable of employing hundreds of thousands of people across the country, especially in Kano, Kaduna, Aba, Lagos, and some other key areas.”

“In the process of reviving the textile industry, an estimate of approximately N1 trillion is projected by the Federal Government for a complete turn-around of the nation’s industry,” he added.

I wonder why we keep discussing development when the foundation is not laid in "STABLE POWER"! Who discusses technological advancement without stable power supply........

The women should be left to go freely if the men were not arrested along with them. Don't bastardize Islam. The religion that preaches equity and equality.

post=50673766:
Eleven women in Kano state have been arraigned for drinking alcohol, smoking, and romancing with men who aren't their husbands.

These vices are contrary to the Sharia legal system, the Faggae Outpost of the Kano State Hisbah Board (Sharia Police) stated on Monday.

Commander of the board's Special Services, Malam Salisu Umar, said the suspects, including four divorcees with kids and a three-month-old pregnant woman, were apprehended by a special patrol unit around the Sabongari area of the state.

"The suspects are females between the ages of 21 and 24 and were apprehended around midnight at beer parlours in Faringida and Abedie Road in Sabongari. We have brought them before a competent Sharia court for prosecution," he said.

He added that they've been arraigned in court after which their case was adjourned till November 14th, 2016.

They are currently awaiting trial at the Central Prisons, Kano.

Where are the men they are romancing? They should arraign them all in court together, else the women should be left free.

Truth be told, governor is doing pretty well in the area of road transport management and other areas too. But I will like to see some form of regulations and more government participation in the water way, in order to have a good option to the road which is being over flogged. The prices on our water way is far too expensive. I believe poverty will reduce greatly if this is considered and people will enjoy good lives too.

You will all agree with me that if PHCN continues with the rate at which power is being distributed now, we all only need an INVERTER as a power backup solution.
