There is a mentality here that is wrong in my honest opinion. Certain people feel certain stocks belong to them.
If you mention Access, they think of DRP, if you mention FCMB, they think of Oracle, if you write Union, they may not wait for you to complete "bank" or diagnostics and start imaging Peterichy... grin

All stocks belong to everybody and all stocks belong to none.

The love of any stock is the most reliable Chinese bridge to the kingdom of losses. When sentiments, market cycles, fundamentals etc etc change, go back to crosscheck your reason for holding.

Any beautiful house standing in the way of a great hurricane is bad for rentage, especially where you are paying for many years upfront.
Where the landlord is living there with you is even worse, you may survive, but he may be consumed. Who will you sue? grin

lol, no be so. depending on your entry price + dividend, we should all be good. i entered bulk of my holdings at N1.7 ( i have been giving update from 90kobo), and the company has been growing steadily in revenue and stock price. so no doubt its a solid company with new contracts signed recently. Moving forward, the company has completed setup of their MRO center and should launch the Training facility within the next 12 months ( with its 1st of the kind in Africa worldclass flight simulator on its way to Nigeria), their income will be better diversified.

But as you see we here are just minority holders, we cant afford to suffer the coming market blow like them (majority shareholders), as Capital preservation is key. We shall return once the storm is clear.

So you have joined Warren Buffet to flee the promised land waiting for the Giants to be killed first.... grin

After more research and analysis with insiders and external resources on Caverton. Its clear Caverton will take abit of beating this 2020 FY. Large FX liabilities/expenses and lower Revenue expected with oil major slowing down operations. With cash reserve, we don't expect a loss yet.
It will be advisable to watch from the sidelines.

Trove is good, if you don't have up to 50k to open a Stockbroking account.

Trove also give you access to foreign stock.

But ......

1. Trove is not a Stockbroker, they work with other brokers(ARM).

2. With Trove you don't have a dedicated CSCS number, the broker (ARM) handle the CSCS.

3. Dividends will not be paid directly to you, it will go to the brokers account and the broker will share the dividends to everyone.

4. Your name is not on any company registrars .If you buy UBA stock on Trove, it is the brokers name that will be on the UBA registrars (Afriprud)

If you have 50K, I will advise you get a proper broker with your CSCS number.

This is a HUGE RED FLAG.

Other fees are applicable when you buy shares. Aside from the commission that your stockbroker charges, the following fees also apply:

-CSCS trade alert
-SEC fee
-Stamp duty
-VAT on commission

If you factor all these in, then the purchase price will be just right.

See a typical buy contract note... grin

Funny,,,

But no matter how far you have gone on a pearl of wrong road wisdom determines you turn and take the right route.
cool

Exactly! For instance, Zenith will still be a great destination at 23pm, but most people here already broke into the rich valley of the kings at about 11am. They won't wait to welcome security reinforcement teams after 23pm.
Same situation elsewhere.

The valley will remain that of the kings, but the full glory of the valley will by then become a matter of Goodwill.

The early scavengers will be dealing in tangibles then, the late comers will now be left to kill new kings inorder to transmogrify intangibility to tangibility, a task better left to the gods ......or depart the looted valley in shame. grin grin grin

My take home this week.
In the stock market, what you get in return for love is loss, very HUGE loss.... grin
It is unwise to impregnate 9 women to get a child within one month...W.Buffet.

You don't give birth to 11 children cos you want to own a club. It's possible they may all end up a barrow pushers.

Watch your investments closely, else you will discover Warren Buffet is a JIJO specialist too late.

It is unwise to follow others very far into the journey before asking where they are going.

If your stock delivers twins, as some stocks may do before December 2020, don't attempt to get the same stock pregnant again during the baby nursing period. Let it heal in peace... cheesy

Life is funny, there was a time I sought for someone's opinion about a stock here. That person was doing as if his analysis was oxygen to the stock's share price, he never knew that company's result was lying on the table of my next door neighbour..... grin

A great result or dividend does not imply a great share price appreciation.... grin

Hi,

your friend bought Zenith at almost the lowest price for this year (though you said two weeks ago, that stock didn't trade that low two weeks ago but it did so about 4 weeks ago).

It seems to me that your friend knows what he is doing. I strongly recommend that you take your trading advisory service from him alone.

Don't you think coming into a faceless forum to seek such advice is risky?

Just do whatever your friend says for you to do and I think you will be just fine.

All the best sir!

I believe he is trying to confirm other recommendations his friend gave him.
You advised well, but you can further assist if he gives us the financial background of his friend, the friend might be buying from the advice of his friend's friend... angry angry angry (They say I shoukld stop smilling)
