I'm surprise that we are still on this BC issue. We just like to hide behind one finger. The NPC BC is meant ONLY for children born on the shores of Nigeria. I went to the NPC office in one of the local Govt council and I was told by one of their ogas that the birth certificate is ONLY for children born on the shores of Nigeria they proposed to "help" me if I don't mind filling in Eti Osa as the place of birth. If you are in possession of an NPC birth certificate with Texas, Houston etc as the place of birth I will advice you to quickly destroy it because I'm 100% sure it is fake. In my quest to get an NPC BC, I was reliably told that even Local Govt offices are into issuance of fake certificates to desperate and unsuspecting applicants
@ desoul, you don't need NPC BC to get a Nigerian passport for your LO all you need is your own passport, the child's American passport and his American birth certificate.

you dont use foreign document to process nigeria passport, if you state that child was born abroad, you will need to present the american birth certificate for sighting and confirmation, will an american child born in nigeria process or get american passport with nigerian birth certificate? i guess you kw the answer, besides why will you say that NPC is only meant for children born in nigeria, NPC is responsible for registration of birth and death of nigeria citizens..@the bolded why will you need american passport to get nigeria passport? besides the items you mentioned are not all you need for LO naija passport as you claim..

I know why it was introduced but my point is that if you are applying for a new born baby you don't need some of the steps listed in that link. The website I posted gives a simpler steps and also another separate steps for business or investors
ok, i now get your point, for LO,
1, DATA PAGE OF BABY PASSPORT
2,DATA PAGE OF PARENTS PASSPORT
3,APPLICATION LETTER WHICH WILL STATE DATE OF ARRIVAL, AIRPORT OF ARRIVAL AND HOME ADDRESS.

she said she walked away.....

Someone also said US was stated on hers.

We all have valid concerns but no one agreed with misrepresentation.

I said NPC (not clerk sitting on one desk in one LGA office) via its regulation should determine its possibility.

Do u agree that Nigeria should have record of her citizens born outside her shores? If yes, how do we go about?
if you are processing nigerian passport for your yankee LO, you need NPC birth certificate but the place of birth will be USA even in the nigeria passport, you will just have to produce the american birth certificate for sighting and confirmation that the child was actually born abroad. the place of birth in my babys nigerian passport is USA, cos thats where she was born

That is the process from Nigeria immigration website as i provided the link above.

Can you provide the link where you copied that from?

The process you stated in your post is for business VOA application

@ the bolded, why did the federal govt introduce visa on arrival then? it was in march 2014, during president Jonathan that this scheme was introduced to enable 'big' investors have easy access to Nigerian visas, subsequently,it extended to every investors, due to the constant shortage of visa vignette and passport booklets in some Nigeria missions abroad, some individual prefer VOA, cos its fast, easier and cheaper, kindly also permit me to state that the information on the step by step process of VOA i posted earlier is correct and authentic, kindly log on to the website i posted few pages back for more info.. again, am not an agent nor embassy worker, just that i care..

justwise pls permit me to do this, this is the step by step process of visa on arrival...
About Visa on Arrival (VoA)
Nigeria Visa on Arrival is a class of short visit visa issued at the port of entry.
The VoA facility is available to frequently travelled High Net Worth Investors and Intending Visitors who may not be able to obtain visa at the Nigerian Missions/Embassies in their countries of residence due to the absence of a Nigerian mission in those countries or exigencies of urgent business travels.
Eligibility
Frequently travelled Business Persons of International Repute
Executives of Multi-national Companies
Members of Government Delegations
Holders of United Nations Laissez-Passer
Holders of African Union Laissez-Passer,
Holders of ECOWAS Laissez-Passer,
Holders of any other Official travel documents of other recognized International Organizations who intend to visit Nigeria.
Note: Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements.
How to Apply for Visa on Arrival
Step 1 : Get Visa on Arrival Approval Letter
There are two methods to obtaining VoA approval letter: applying through email or in person application by representative in Nigeria.
Applying through Email
Applicant/Company already registered with NIS/Representative shall write an Application Letter to The Comptroller General of Immigration, NIS HQ, Abuja stating the following
Name of Applicant
Passport number of Applicant
Nationality
Purpose of visit
Proposed date of visit
Proposed port of entry
Flight itinerary
Address in Nigeria or Hotel Reservation
Attach the following documents:
Copy of Passport Data Page
Copy of Airline Return ticket reservation
Note : After Approval, a letter will be forwarded to your email with a copy sent to the Airline stated in your application and Immigration port of entry.
Applying through your representative in Nigeria
1. Contact your Representative (Business partners, Company Representative, Protocol/Liaison Officer, etc) in Nigeria.
2. The Representative files a formal request for Visa on Arrival Approval on your behalf by writing an application letter to The Comptroller General of Immigration, NIS HQ, Abuja stating the following:
Name of visitor
Passport number of visitor
Nationality
Purpose of visit
Proposed date of visit
Proposed port of entry
Proposed airline
Flight itinerary
Address in Nigeria
Email address of the visitor
Acceptance of Immigration Responsibility
1. The representative shall attach the following documents in support of the application
Copy of visitor’s passport data page
Copy of Airline Return ticket Reservation
Note: After Approval Letter is obtained,(Hard Copy) by your representative, copies of the same document will be forwarded to the Airline stated in the application and Immigration port of entry.
Timeline:
The request shall be processed and approval letter issued within 48hrs (2 working days).
Step 2 : Pay for Visa on Arrival
Fill in the application form with your correct details and make payment online here.
Note: Successful online payment is not an approval. Applicant should not proceed through Nigeria until receipt of ‘Visa on Arrival Approval Letter’ issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja. Online Payment may also be made at point of arrival subject to presentation of Visa on Arrival Approval Letter. Master Card, Visa and American Express card are acceptable.
Step 3 : Arrive at the Port of Entry and proceed for Immigration Clearance
Upon arrival at the Port of Entry, proceed to the desk marked ‘Visa on Arrival’ for issuance of entry Visa. Present the following documents in hard copy at the Port of Entry:
Visa Approval Letter (Pre-approved visa letter), valid for 14 days from the date of issuance
Evidence of online payment
Valid Passport with minimum of six months validity
Valid return ticket
Two recent passport sized photographs....pls am not an agent, I don't work at the embassy either..I hope this settles the matter, best wishes

That is the problem right there, because those 'contacts' are milking it they make it look as if one can not do it online successfully without them.

You can apply online of you don't want to keep feeding those 'contacts'

Nope... cos they have to capture.

You can do visa in US there. 2 years validity, useful esp if you are a frequent traveler
that's correct...or better still do Nigeria passport, I can confirm to you that passport booklets are available in all our missions now, especially in USA.

I really hope that she does that or somebody else that knows the process because this idea of using contact within the embassy to get VOA will not work here.

The passport booklet is not available but when you contact the insider within the embassy the booklet becomes available?

We need to stop feeding those corrupt Nigerian embassy workers

i dont work at the embassy and VOA is not processed at any embassy in the world.am a fellow nairalander,
@ the bolded, nigeria immigration facilities are all online. so if nigeria embassy workers are corrupt, lets stop patronizing them and do it our selves, when i needed nigerian visa for my LO, i contact somebody in our atlanta mission and the processes and money was too much for me, i decided to go for VOA which i processed and i shared the good news here...they are not corrupt, if you need their services apart from what they are being paid for, you should get ready to pay them, in USA, if you need your LO blue passport very urgent, you will have to pay higher than normal price(correct me if am wrong)..for more info on VOA pls visit www.immigration.gov.ng i hope i did not violate any rules. tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue

Dear all,

Following the scarcity of Nigerian passport from abroad, is it possible to get the Nigerian passport for my LO in Nigeria and take it along with me to the US for her use to return to Nigeria? Has anybody tried this option? I read people now find it difficult to process emergency travel certificate (ETC), VOA too seems not to be readily available unless you know someone to help you out (as @desouls has helped many here). Quite a number of people are asking for @desouls contact while some are getting frustrated.

Please can @desouls give a step-by-step guide to be taken to process the VOA without necessarily calling for his/her contact anytime anybody wants to process the VOA.

Thank you
first, the answer to your question on if you can process your LO PASSPORT in Nigeria and take to USA is NO..on the issue of ETC, its suppose to be for people who lost their passport and can not get a new one before returning to nigeria, sometimes immigration dont issue it to baby b'cos it does not have much identification on it ,its for adults who can prove that they are nigerians, on the issue of booklet scarcity, cool sad , then on VOA, the steps are well detailed on immigration website, pls log on to www.immigration.gov.ng...pls am not an agent, i have said it before ,also i dont work at the embassy, some of you who have met me knows my office. i try as much as possible to be silent on some issues, even when people ask for my contact here, i see them but i always ignore, we help each other to get cheap flight ticket, accomodation ,hospital etc, some after their missionary journey thank those that answered their pms. i hope this helps thank you.

Hello,
The doctor I contacted at McKinney didn't send the breakdown of the services at the hospital like others did. I wanted to confirm if it was same with you. But he said he wants to see my medical records first. So, thank you.
I was already in the states when I contacted them..yes he did request for my medical history before accepting to deliver me, it saved a lot of cash for me cos, he accepted some of the results I did in naija.so you can try emailing your test result to him, after going through it, he will definately send you his breakdown services.
