Wow!!! So he still hasn't done that road On a more serious note, what has Domingo done for the Igarras let alone Akoko-Edos Sincerely speaking, am extremely pained because I know about all his campaign promises. That was the main problem between him and Comrade Suru Akpata(his own relative) who never supported him.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo: I'm Better Than Messi by devyktur(m): 11:34am On May 21, 2012
kayusfit: @Cyril83; so because Ronaldo played in england means he is better right? Whats so special about english league? Sergio aguero played his first season in england and scored 30 goals for mancity in all competitions. Papi Cisse of Newcastle came in January and was scoring freely in this same premiership. This is the same premiership thierry henry ruled for donkey years without going on a straight 3month injury. As wack as anelka is, he also won premiership topscorer with chelsea. The list goes on. Do we need to Tell Ryan giggs, lampard, gerard, rooney, Terry and ferguson to leave england so we can know they are truly good?? I think you are smoking banana leaves wrapped in wet wrizla.

Thank U very much. Simple truth.

Politics / Boko Haram: What A Problem: by devyktur(m): 1:49pm On Jan 22, 2012
Unfortunately, most analysts continue to shy away from the truth- the bitter truth that Boko Haram is an islamist group with a political agenda. Boko Haram is a jihadist organization that has declared war against anybody that is really or imagined to be opposed to its cause. Instead many analysts continue to blame the attacks and crisis orchestrated by this mili, tant sect on the injustices, poverty and marginalization of the North.

Some commentators have made it seem as if Boko Haram are northern equivalent of the Niger Delta militants fighting to address social, economic and political marginalization of the region. Even when the group has made it clear that they are opposed to western education and want sharia implemented in Nigeria.

Boko Haram militants are not asking for jobs. They are not agitating for any finacial reward or compensation. Their cause is religious. Thier agenda is islamists. They are just a bunch of islamic militants and nihilists who want to turn Nigeria into an islamic empire by force.

We in Nigeria must stop decieving ourselves by saying that the Boko Haram attacks have nothing to do with religion. Or that they have nothing to do with Islam. This is not true. Though people can carry out such heinous attacks for other reasons, or be motivated by other secular causes. From the pattern of their attacks, the Boko Haram phenomenon has a lot to do with religion particularly islam. It is the Nigerian version of al Qaeda.

The militants are not bombing police stations, UN building and churches for the sake of it. They are not agitating for sharia law for the fun of it. The Boko Haram militants are fighting a holy war. They are prosecuting a jihad for which they expect to be rewarded abundantly in the hereafter with some virgins. That is why the group has not run out of suicide bombers. That is why they have their operational base in the muslim majority states. Oh God!, please help Nigeria.

The big question is, "have you prayed for Nigeria today?"

Sports / "my Son, Most Qualified For Eagles Job" Oliseh's Father Boast. by devyktur(m): 2:47pm On Aug 11, 2010
Pending the confirmation of Coach Samson Siasia's appointment as the new manager for the Super Eagles, the father of Sunday Oliseh says his son is the most qualified and the right man to succeed Coach Lars Lagerback, who failed to report to his duty post since after the World Cup in South Africa.

Pa Oliseh, while in a chat with Daily Sunsports in Lagos, insisted that his son has the magic wand to take Eagles to the Promised Land.

“Among all the coaches that are been paraded for Super Eagles' job, no one is as qualified as my son. Sunday is very intelligent and disciplined, and these are the attributes a coach needs to handle a team like Eagles.
“My son got his first coaching certificate in Belgium before he went to England for another course to equip himself better for any coaching assignment. Aside one or two coaches in Africa, I think my son should rank among the best with the qualification he has currently.

“He has not been able to coach Eagles because of what I may call the Nigerian factor, where one is not judged by his qualification or what one can do. But as for being qualified to tinker the Eagles, I will tell you that Sunday is one of the best at the moment for the team.
“As a matter of fact, he told me that one day he was in a plane with one Eagles' player, who was on his way to Nigeria to play a match in Abuja the following day. Sunday said that he told the player that if it were in his days, when he was the Eagles' captain, that he would not allow him (the player) to play in that match because he would not be fit and would not give his best in the match due to jetlag, moreover, he did not train with the team for the game. That will tell you how disciplined Sunday is.

Continuing, Pa Oliseh said: “My son understands what it takes to be a coach and by the grace of God, he is comfortable to the point that no player can brag for him. He is the type of person that can restore discipline in Eagles because he believes in discipline and is ready to inculcate it into the team if given a free hand to operate.
“Oliseh is currently coaching a team in Belgium and as you know, before you can coach a team in Europe, you must be real good.”
He went further to reveals how his son began his journey into football. “Sunday is a special child. He is unique among his siblings. He is intelligent, honest and disciplined to a fault unlike my other children.

“Sunday is my second son, but he behaves as if he is the eldest. He bears the same name with me. He was born on a Sunday like me.
“Sunday resembled my father and I love him as I loved my father. My father was an honest man and Sunday took after him in that area. I can vouch for him any day.
“Sunday began his football career in my house here in Festac Town (Lagos). It was from my house that he played in the local league before moving ahead. I have always encouraged him. Football runs in our blood, I played it up to the university level but not for the national team because during my time, play football was not reckoned with.

“Sunday is unique. One thing he was doing when he was still playing for the national team was that, two days to any Eagles' match, he would stop picking his calls. He was doing that in order to have full concentration. So, we never bothered calling him during such periods. We instead prayed for him and I would remain in prayers until the final whistle for that game. I never wanted any misfortune to befall him.
“And of course, when he was with Eagles, any time Nigeria played and won, my house in Festac would be in celebration, everybody around would come to celebrate with us,” Pa Oliseh concluded

Sports / Why Enyeama Was Ranked ''low' In South Africa 2010. by devyktur(m): 3:42pm On Aug 02, 2010
Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama was, in the hearts of millions of football fans across the world, one of the top goalkeepers of the World Cup. His performances between the sticks in the matches involving the Super Eagles has been attributed as the key reason why the Nigerian team was not embarrassed in South Africa, that is depending on if one doesn’t consider a draw and two losses from three games against Argentina, Greece and Korea Republic an embarrassment for a side from the world’s most populous black nation.

But the 27-year-old, who looks likely to leave Israeli league champions Hapoel Tel Aviv before the start of the new season, is not even listed among the tournament’s top ten goalkeepers in the Castrol Index as he is ranked a lowly 26th; even lower than Algeria’s Rais Bolhi, in 14th place, or Japan’s Eji Kawashima who is ranked second behind Germany’s Manuel Neuer. And the tournament’s organizers have explained why Enyeama is way down in the ranking according to the Castrol Index, which was developed in conjunction with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, and which uses the latest technology to objectively analyse and rank player performances.

FIFA’s explanation

“With Enyeama, part of the problem is that Nigeria went out at the group stage. As the tournament progresses, performances are rewarded more highly, since the matches tend to be more difficult. In addition, players who have not played a certain number of minutes are penalised, so players from eliminated teams will naturally drop down the rankings,” said the statement on Fifa.com. “With Enyeama, the fair comparison is to look at his ranking at the end of the group stage where he was the 22nd best goalkeeper. Maybe that is still surprising? He had made 20 saves, which was the second highest of any keeper but had conceded five goals, which was equal third worst.

So the fact he was very busy making saves meant he caught the eye but he did not keep a clean sheet. He saved 20 out of 25 shots faced, a save percentage of 80 - only the equal 14th best in the group stage which goes a long way to explaining his average ranking. With the goalkeeper ratings, we try to strip out the effect of the defence - it is not how many saves he makes but his performance once you have assessed how good or bad the defence is. This means good keepers in good teams have a chance of being top of the Castrol Index. Enyeama is an okay keeper in a team that performed disappointingly.”

Though to me, he is one of the best goalkeepers you can find in the world.

I have always said this; take it or leave it, the best coach that can handle the Super Eagles well is Siasia.

Sports / Finally Its Siasia. by devyktur(m): 11:22pm On Jul 27, 2010
Before the world cup, I told my friends that the best coach for the super eagles is Siasia. Believe me guys if Siasia had been the one who took us to the World Cup, things wouldnt have been like this. Frankly speaking, Lagerback tried but the truth is that he does not and for now cannot understand wats happening in-house. It does not neccesarily mean the coach must be white or black. But we need a coach that can stay in Nigeria or better still spend at least 20 days in Nigeria. a coach who will be watching at least one Nigeria Premier Leage match every weekend, a very disciplined coach to say the least. In my own personal accessment, I see all this qualities in Samson Siasia. He has done everything to show he is a good coach. I think he deserves the job and the NFF should waste no time in giving him the job since Lagerback has opted to stay out of the job.
This is just an observation which is open to constructive criticism and comments.
