Hi, I tried to get dates on the AVITS site, saw dates for 2025, but its not even letting me pick a date. it keeps giving error messages. I know you mentioned getting a date on both sites but Avits is just not letting me pick a date. It just gives error messages.

Also, If it gives a date for 2025 and I have a 2024 date at OIS which date superceeds?

primusmaximus:

If you live in Lagos or Abuja, then still try and submit using the OIS date. It's possible they have stopped AVITS appointments for drop-off as it may no longer be relevant (as mentioned by OIS)

If you stay outside Lagos/Abuja, then wait for someone to confirm using OIS date only.

The OIS staff I spoke with actually said they have taken over the appointment booking process from US Embassy.

Hello @DFCO,

In case this is still necessary, here is what you do.

Login again, select 'My Dashboard'. Click 'Pending Appointment Request'. It should open up the calendar. Just above the calendar on the right hand side, you will see 'Select'. Click it to choose Abuja or Lagos and then you will see the available dates.

I've been checking. The calendar no longer shows. It just states 'Location Unavailable" under appointments.

primusmaximus:

The OIS staff in Abuja told me they stopped recognizing AVITS date last week Friday. OIS date is what they follow now. I think you should still get a date on AVITS, even if it is next year, and go to OIS next week to submit.

Thanks again Naivasha. Yes I got my waiver. Initially saw today as available but it was too soon for me; now its not even showing the calender just 'Location Not Available'.

I tried the OIS and I got a date for next week; but is the AVITS date not required

naivasha:

Hi @DFCO,
I have not booked my appointment yet. However I am able to get to the point where I can view the calendar and available dates. I am holding back because the dates I see currently don't work for me. Please note I am referring to AVITS only. I have not tried on the OIS site.

On AVITS, have you been able to at least go through the questions that determine if you are eligible for IW?

Thanks so much. I have done that and I got a date for next week. What about the AVITS? We dont need to schedule a date on the website?

primusmaximus:

If you are referring to OIS, select US Visa Documents Delivery. Then put your passport number and click verify. It will then say your passport is not ready for pick-up, click proceed and then select your preferred centre and select "drop-off". Proceed to select the date and time you want and print the acknowledgement slip.

OyoTunjiUSA:

🤠

1. It seems " profile update is not yet available on the AVITS webpage. If the scenario continues, just attend your VISA interview with both old and new DS-160s.

Hi Naivasha,

Please how did you book your appointment. I cant seem to book on the AVITS site. Also the OIC site , did you book an appointment there? How?, Please help.

naivasha:
Ok, so First Bank has definitely received the visa fee. My guess is that somewhere in the interface between the payment platform and the application website your information has not synced properly and therefore you are not able to proceed.

Keep trying to reach out to them so they can resolve it for you. All the best.

Good morning. on the page that says select appointment time. Do I pick visa services or us visa services.

thanks.

primusmaximus:

Thanks for the detailed response. Does the date on the USA embassy appointment matter? It's not allowing me reschedule and the previous date I booked isn't available on OIS.

The IW letter can be downloaded from the AVITS site.... not sure if they will still send an email

Thank you Naivasha and OyotunjiUSA. I've got a waiver but no date. Grateful for the assistance.

naivasha:
Well, I am able to respond to @DFCO because I have proceeded with the application up to the point where I need to select an appointment date and then I stopped. I have not booked an appointment yet because the available dates are not favorable for me. If and when I get something suitable I will continue.

My confusion is that it seems there are two different appointments that need to be booked. One with the Consulate and one with OIS. And it's unclear to me what each appointment is for. Having re-read your previous post to @primusmaximus, it seems the all-important IW Confirmation Letter is what will clear things up. So I will wait until I get to that stage. Maybe between now and then there will be some more experiences shared or further insights that will clarify things for me. Let's see how it goes. Cheers.

Please the bank reference number you used, was it the deposit slip no: or the one below the barcode that comes with OIS|Date|Number?

Slymod:
I made visa fee payment about 4 days ago on the new Avits website through bank transfer. Payment is yet to reflect and I'm unable to schedule an appointment. So I deleted the pending application request to start a new only to get the error 'Duplicate applicant found for this user'. I learnt the visa fee is tied to the email address used for registration. I'm thinking of deleting the account and registering again with the same email address in hopes the glitch will disappear and payment might be picked up. I even tried retrieving the payment details by entering the bank reference number and payment date. It gives the message bank 'bank details updated successfully and nothing happens thereafter.
Please has anyone encountered this issue and how was it fixed?
The support tickets I created are rotting away. No response since then.

Actually, I used the other option "Generate Deposit Slip".

Please can you clarify, i used the generate as well to make a transfer payment. Does it automatically show that you have paid after 24 hours or do you have to input the payment transaction details after you make he transfer?
I used the generate deposit slip to transfer around 5am yesterday. Am i to input the receipt number using the bank deposit details section or does it automatically show I have made payment? Its over 24 hours and I dont see my payment reflected.
Thanks
