To be honest, your CGPA only matters if you are applying to a company as a graduate trainee or any other entry-level role. I would suggest that you build capacity. I have worked as a software developer in a few companies to date and believe me the last thing they ask me is my CGPA, In fact, most of them only ask me for my statement of result and other documents after I had been given a offer letter. My advice is that you build capacity and companies will seek after you regardless of what you graduated with.

A Peace Mass Transit bus involved in a fatal accident along the Benin-Ore expressway, on Wednesday, has allegedly claimed the life of at least 18 persons.
It was learnt that the bus with number plate 1259 was reportedly carrying 18 people when it got involved in an accident.
According to reports, all the occupants of the bus died in the accident.

A motorcycle mechanic, Christian Ali, has sadly met his untimely death, after slipping into a coma, a day after his traditional wedding on November 29.

Facebook user, Ezema Chekwube, who shared the unpleasant news said late Ali complained of severe headache after his traditional wedding on November 29. He went into a coma the following day and died six days later.

“Today the remains of Christian Ali, a friend of all will be laid to mother earth. He is a motorcycle mechanic, he did his traditional marriage on Friday 29th November 2019. After his traditional marriage, he complained of severe headache and was taken to hospital on 29th November. He went into a coma on 30th November. Died on 6th December 2019. Rest in peace till we meet to part no more.” Chekwube wrote.
Christian Ali was laid to rest in his hometown Enugu Ezike, Enugu State today, Wednesday, November 11.

A yet-to-be-identified lady has reportedly gone insane after spending the night with a man identified simply as Solution in Badagry area of Lagos.

The lady was seen in a viral video acting like she is mentally deranged.

WuzupNigeria could not confirm if the lady is a hooker or the suspect’s girlfriend.

Solution was alleged to have taken the lady to his home on Tuesday night, but on Wednesday morning the lady started displaying signs of insanity which raised concerns among neighbors who gathered round to watch her and asked questions.
Eyewitnesses say the lady initially started acting strangely before she started shouting the name of her host.

The suspect was seen being interrogated by a mob of residents who have put a tyre around his neck before reportedly dragging him to the police station.

In the footage which is presently making the round on social media, the lady was seen sitting on the floor, shouting and acting erratically.

Residents who had gathered round to catch a glimpse of the incident could be heard in the video passing some damning verdict about the suspect and his suspicious activities in the neighborhood.

Google has announced the results of its ‘2019 Year in Search’ with the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) strike topping this year’s trending news search.

On Wednesday, Google Communication Officer Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade said that the ‘ASUU strike’ was followed by `AFCON 2019’, ‘Naira Marley’ and the ‘Women’s World Cup 2019.’

Kola-Ogunlade said that the results of the ‘Year in Search’ offered a unique perspective on the year’s major moments and top trends based on searches conducted in Nigeria.
He said:

The battle for supremacy between Nigerians and their West African rivals Ghanaians was reignited on Sunday following the visit of American rapper Cardi B to Accra, Ghana’s capital.

Cardi B arrived in Lagos last Thursday as part of her visit to Africa for concerts in Nigeria and Ghana.

While she was in Nigeria which was her first point of call, she had made some commendable and positive remarks about the country, first was her likening Lagos to the Dominican Republic on her way from the airport to her hotel in Victoria Island.

She also had a nice time with some Nigerian artistes at a nightclub in Lagos.

From her social media posts, it would not be out of place to say that the American singer had a good time in Nigeria and she truly enjoyed her stay.

After her concert in Lagos, Cardi headed for Accra where she had a concert on Sunday and also had a meet and greet session with some select Ghanaian celebrities, it didn’t turn out well.

While some Ghanaian celebrities were reportedly waiting for the singer at the venue of the meet and greet, an announcement from the show promoters that Cardi B would not be available at the scheduled time until another four hours enraged some Ghanaian entertainers who stormed out of the venue and took to social media to vent their anger.

Cardi B saw some of the outrages and did apologised to the aggrieved entertainers, she also posted a video on her IG page saying the meet and greet was not part of her contract,

“It was part of my contract in Nigeria and I attended and I arrived on time,” she said in a live video on her social media page.

The Police Command in Bayelsa on Wednesday confirmed the burning of two suspected kidnappers in Otuagala Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state by a mob.
The suspected criminals were involved in the kidnap of three students of the College of Health and Technology, Otuogidi.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, said the two kidnappers were arrested on Tuesday evening.
He said shortly after men of the command arrested the criminals, a mob from the community overpowered the security operatives and burned the kidnappers to death.
“Following a tip-off, on Dec. 3, at about 1625 hours, a combined team of policemen and the vigilance group, combed Otuagala forest, in Ogbia Local Government Area.
“The team rescued the three students of College of Health and Technology Otuogidi, who were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on the Dec. 2. The victims were in good condition. Meanwhile, two kidnappers were arrested and two wooden carved guns that resemble AK 47 Rifles were recovered from them. However, an angry mob from the Community overpowered the security operatives and burned the kidnappers to death,” he said.

A ‘man of God’ is standing before an Igbosere Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly hiring a six-man gang of suspected assassins to kill a female pastor, Janet Ogunsola, for being more popular than him.

Pastor Benjamin Akinsanya, the pastor in charge of The Life House Ministry, Ojo Barracks, Ojo, Lagos, allegedly paid the suspects N500,000 to terminate the life of the female pastor in charge of Glorious Chapel Ministry located at 1, Adeleye Street, Ojo, to prevent her from being more popular spiritually than him in Ojo environs, The Nation reports.

Other defendants charged alongside the pastor whose church is located on Ifeoma Street, opposite Ojo Barracks, Ojo, included Darlington Orji, 25, and liberty Elvis, 29.

The trial Magistrate, A.A. Famobiwo who ordered their remand said they should remain in custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) until they perfect their bail.

Prosecuting CSP C.C. Onwumere informed the court that the defendants committed the offense in October 2019 at 1, Adeleye Street, Ojo, Lagos.

The pastor and others are facing a five-count bothering on attempted murder and belonging to an unlawful society called Aiye cult confraternity.

Police counsel, CSP Onwumere C.C informed the court that the accused persons committed the offense in October 2019 at 1, Adeleye Street, Ojo, Lagos.

Onwumere told the court that Pastor Akinsanya allegedly sponsored the two other defendants and others still at large, to help him kill the complainant for becoming more popular than him in church ministry in Ojo area of Lagos.

It was alleged that Akinsanya, 56, allegedly paid the suspects N500,000 to terminate the life of the female pastor.

Police alleged that sometime in October 2019, the suspects, with others still at large, invaded the residence of the complainant armed with guns to attempt to kill her.

It was alleged that when the defendants, could not find the complainant at home, they allegedly shot sporadically into her residence and left.

Following the development, the complainant sent a save-our-soul petition to the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Mohammed Adamu.

The complainant, Pastor Ogunsola had stated that a woman came to her church to complain of problems and that she led her prayer warriors to pray for her and she left.

“After about a month, the woman came back to my church to give testimonies that the prayer she received in my church has solved her problems. Following the report, IGP Adamu directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP in charge of FSARS, Lagos, Durosimi Olatoye to hunt down the suspects.

Olatoye gave a marching order to his crack team led by Supol Garba Oseni to fish out the suspects anywhere they may be hiding.

And the police team arrested the pastor who later led the operatives to arrest two of the suspects while others managed to escape.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Famobiwo granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in the like sum.

He adjourned the case until December 12.

A police officer deployed for the Bayelsa State Governorship election was spotted washing his uniform with ballot boxes of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) used for the election.

The election was held on Saturday 16th November 2019.

Although the Nigerian Electoral Act did not stipulate any penalty for such act, Section 118 (3) of the 2010 Electoral Act only mentioned offenses related to illegal production or importation of ballot boxes.

The offense attracts a maximum fine of N50 million or a term of imprisonment of not less than 10 years or both.

OAU Graduate Stabbed By Robbers, Dies After Hospital Refused Her Treatment

A graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has reportedly died over the refusal of a hospital to attend to her for not presenting a police report after she got robbed and stabbed in the neck.

According to Ikeoluwa Fasipe, @ik3oluwa, who shared the story on Twitter, Jolad hospital in Gbagada should be held responsible for the death of the victim, Moradeun, who allegedly died from her injuries.

It is alleged that after Moradeun got robbed and stabbed in the neck, bystanders rushed to her aid and immediately took her to Jolad hospital located in Gbagada but rather than administer a first aid treatment at least, they referred her to Gbagada General Hospital.

As of the time of filing this report, it is unknown whether Moradeun died on her way to the general hospital or if she died there.

The World Bank in its 2019 Nigeria Economic Update Report which was released on Monday, December 2, warned that Nigeria might be home to 25 percent of the world’s destitute people if the government fails to revive economic growth and create jobs.

The international financial institution urged the Buhari-led administration to increase domestic revenue, remove trade restrictions and improve the predictability of economic policy following a projection of the number of Nigerians living in extreme poverty increased by more than 30 million by 2030.

The World Bank also stated that Nigeria’s economic growth projected to pick up from 1. 9 percent in 2018 to two percent in 2019, is vulnerable to external and domestic risks including geopolitical and trade tensions that may affect inflows of private investment. It also warned that the country might slide back into recession if crude prices fall by 25 percent to $50 a barrel.

A Nigerian has allegedly tried to crash an Ethiopian airline plane while he was being deported from Malaysia back to Nigeria.
The plane was said to have over 200 persons on board and heading towards the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday.
The unnamed Nigerian, who is believed to be in his 30s, rushed into the plane’s toilet with a lighter and lit a cigarette.
With the emerging smoke from the toilet, the emergency alarm of the plane came on, sending the entire passengers into a panic.
According to DAILY POST, the man rushed to the toilet after a brief conversation with one of the air hostesses.
Quoting the air hostess, the paper reported that the suspect requested for a cup of coffee but could not wait to be served before rushing to the toilet.
The incident which many of the passengers termed another form of terrorist attack, caused serious panic in the air as the crew members rushed to the toilet with a fire extinguisher and other gadgets to avert what would have resulted to a plane crash.
When the plane successfully landed at the Abuja international airport, angry passengers invaded the arrival lounge, charging security operatives to ensure the suspect was apprehended and interrogated as his mission was to kill everyone onboard the plane.
Security operatives eventually led the suspect away as passengers monitored keenly.
An aviation officer who pleaded anonymity said it was a stupid act to smoke in a plane even when it is written boldly that smoking is highly prohibited.
”This guy must be up to something. Check your tickets too. It says non-smoking,” he said.
A passenger who was in the same plane said that the suspect was on a mission to kill everyone.
He said,
“If not, how on earth can someone explain this? You can even see the no-smoking sign directly above your head. The guy wanted all of us dead, and I think he must not be left off the hook.”
Many of the passengers had warned vehemently that proper investigation must be carried out to determine why the suspect carried out the act.

Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has threatened to sue Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for contempt over the continued detention of Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.
In a letter by Falana to the Justice Minister titled, “Request for equal Compliance With Orders of British Courts and Nigerian Courts by the Federal Government of Nigeria),” the lawyer said with Federal Government’s compliance with the judgment of the British Commercial Court in London awarding $9.6 billion in favour of P& ID, it should respect the judgment granting bail to Sowore and Bakare.
He promised to pursue contempt proceedings against the Attorney General and the Director-General of the SSS, Yusuf Bichi, should the government fail to direct the release of his clients.
He wrote:
“Take notice that if you fail to accede to our request we shall be compelled to carry out the firm instructions of our clients to pursue the contempt proceedings which have been initiated against Mr. Yusuf Bichi, the Director-General of the State Security Service. In addition, we shall also report your good self and the prosecutor to the Nigerian Bar Association and the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee for encouraging the State Security Service to treat orders of Nigerian Courts with disdain while you are anxious to obey the orders of British Courts”.

A yet-to-be-identified woman was, on Sunday, crushed to death by a hit-and-run driver in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
It was gathered that the accident occurred around 11:05 pm at Regina Caeli Junction on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra, Andrew Kumapayi, the woman died at the spot.
Kumapayi said the corpse had been deposited at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital morgue, Awka.
The sector commander reiterated the call for pedestrians to be careful on the road, especially during festive periods, because of increased vehicular movement.

“My advice to road users especially pedestrians during this season is to be extra careful when crossing the road. They should endeavor to use the pedestrian bridge provided for them if any, and if there is none, they should look left, right and left again to make sure that the road is free before crossing. Let them wear reflective clothing when walking in the night so that they can be seen by oncoming vehicles,” he said.

The All Progressives Congress (APC)Enugu East senatorial candidate in the last election, Lawrence Ezeh, has led no few than 20,000 members of the party to the People’s Democratic Party Party (PDP) in Enugu State.

Ugwuanyi described the move back to the party as a “family affair.”

“Enugu State PDP is one united family. You left and you are now back. We welcome you back and say that we are happy, because you are very important to us,” the governor told Prince Ezeh and members of his campaign organisation, Aka Ekpuchi Onwa Campaign Organisation and the former APC members.

Ezeh had earlier thanked Nkanu East chapter of the party as well as the state and the government. He also expressed gratitude to the Governor for keeping tab on him all through the period he was absent from the party.

“Before the elections, we were together; after the elections, we were also together, because you never allowed me to rest until I agreed to return to the PDP,” Ezeh said.

The Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] injected $323.5 million and 17.9 million Chinese yuan ($2.5 million) into the currency market on Friday in an effort to keep it stable and prevent shortages.
A central bank spokesman said the dollar intervention was for agricultural machinery and industrial raw materials, while the yuan was for yuan-denominated letters of credit. He added that the bank would continue to ensure adequate liquidity in the market.
Traders have said importers are not willing to buy the dollar above the current range, which is partly helping to keep the naira stable as liquidity dries up from foreign inflows due to a fall in debt yields.
In the over-the-counter market, the naira was quoted at between 362 and 362.50 this week, holding within this month’s range. The currency is quoted at 307 on the official market, supported by the central bank.

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested five of its men for allegedly shooting to death a 27-year-old fun-seeker, Maliki Mohammed, at a club on Balogun Street, Oshodi, Lagos.

The arrested policemen, numbering five, are attached to the Akinpelu Police Division.

The cops are Inspectors Orubu Olusola, Apalowo Ola, Kasai Sule and Sergeants Momoh Ogwuche and Adoga Collins.

It was gathered that the police team had gone to the club on Friday over a complaint lodged by one Abibat Makinde who claimed she was assaulted at the facility.

In an attempt to effect an arrest, some hoodlums reportedly confronted the men who resorted to the use of firearms, killing Mohammed and injuring two others in the process.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday, said the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, directed that the policemen be detained.

“The Incident happened on November 29, 2019 at about 8.30pm which led to the death of one Maliki Mohammed, 27 years old. Two other persons sustained injuries. In their statement, the team said they were at the club in response to a complaint made by one Abibat Makinde of Olaore Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, that she was assaulted in the club.

“While trying to effect arrest, they were attacked by some hoodlums which necessitated their use of firearms. This, however, fell short of the provision of Force Order 237 which defined the circumstances in which a police officer will be justified to use his firearms and the use of force.

“The officers involved are already facing internal disciplinary proceedings known as orderly room trial at the command’s Provost Department. If found guilty, they will be handed over to a conventional court for prosecution.”

Elkana said the station’s Divisional Police Officer, crime officer and operations officer were issued official queries for lack of supervision, adding that 11 suspects were arrested in connection with the attack on the police team.

“The commissioner of police has ordered a thorough investigation into the case. The CP empathised with the families of the deceased and the injured persons. He called on the good people of Lagos State to remain calm as justice will not only be done but will be seen to be done,” he added.
