jideflash: We are looking for a passionate, driven and ambitious designer/developer to join our creative team full-time, working on a diverse mix of projects both online and offline for Flash I.T. Solutions, a leading Digital media company based at Gbagada, Lagos.

We require a self-motivated, highly competent, communicative flexible designer with strong conceptual thinking, attention to detail and ability to work to extremely tight deadlines and agreed budgets. An outstanding team player with strong work ethics who can solve problems to a high standard is key.

The ideal profile for the applicant is someone who has extensive experience and/or qualifications in Computer Engineering / IT plus Mixed Media / Design / Arts / Photography / Video. The suitable applicant will have 3 to 5 years of working experience and will be used to managing and executing tasks in a busy environment. The role will provide a chance for you to shine and excel in an exciting company.

Main Job Description: Developing and maintaining website content and layout; Development of all marketing and packaging design materials; Creating e-mail campaigns to our internal subscriber list; Assisting with social media campaign graphics.

Key Skills:
Graphic / Web Design:
• Websites & web application
• Product Packaging & Literature
• Promotional Marketing materials; flyers, outdoors, brochures, etc
• E-mail marketing
• Brand development
• Corporate communications
• Good experience and knowledge of UX/UI design, employ user-centric practices to create world-class web, mobile web and app experiences.
• Pre + Post Press and good knowledge of colour profiles
• Software : Adobe CS5 (minimum) - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks

Web development:
• Very good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, PHP and SQL are essential
• XML, Javascript and jQuery are not essential, but a plus
• Extensive knowledge of Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal - creating and developing themes and plugins
• Knowledge of Woocommerce or other e-Commerce engine
• Good knowledge of SEO guidelines and implementation
• E-mail marketing campaigns set up + coding according to guidelines and crossclient/browser compatibility
• Work with different API's (Google analytics, REST API,...) to further develop and enhance the in-house solutions for digital campaigns and online presence (brand awareness)
• Software : Adobe CS5 (minimum) Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop. Textedit / Notepad++


Others skills (non essential):
• A good knowledge of video and photography from a technical and user perspective. Product pictures are done in-house and the applicant needs to have some knowledge on how to operate a semi-professional/professional DSLR camera
• Audio and Video editing
• Microsoft Office / Powerpoint

I received a funny one last week or so, it looked like a message from yahoo, everything appears genuine, except that it had an html attachment, on red alert, i clicked to download the attachment (very risky, please do not try this at home), my browser immediately opened the attachment and hey presto, i found myself back on the yahoo login page again, i just looked into the browser-address-bar and saw that the url was showing kentro-levels.
