Hubby and I were also denied visa in May this year.

I had no change of intention frm the visiting visa to the medical visa. But we were not denied on that ground. Ours was that we didn't take our bills and receipts along, and because we were still on a payment plan.

We applied again in July, and got a date in Nov. Applied for an expedited interview date but was declined that child birth is not a real emergency.

Exactly, one week ago, we were before another VO, we had our bills and reciepts and zero balances this time. And we were honest about the failure to procure a change of Intention for the previous birth, and apologised. She stated categorically that there's nothing wrong in having a baby with a visiting visa. We were shocked!

She asked their usual questions.
She handed us the white sheet and added that they'll need time to go through the payment documents we handed her for the previous birth, and that we'll receive an e-mail or sms expressing their decision on our application. I was so nervous at this point that I'm not sure I included all my itemised bills.
DH said he heard her say that the visa decision will be made in a day or two. But the white sheet says within 60days. It's a week now no info.

Am really worried for the following reasons;
1. My EDD is middle of nxt month, and am really big and exhausted by now. (P.S. I'll be going with a 2yr old toddler).
2. Have cancelled my appointment with my doctor severally.
3. Am considering writing the Embassy, to inform them about the urgency of my case, and to add that the visa will be useless to me if it's approved after this period. Cause I refused buying ANYTHING for my LO's birth cause I planned to shop there. Didn't want to carry much load.
OR
Should I give up on the visa and start plan B of having the LO here, and start shopping for him.

4. My mom had already traveled in October to wait for me, cause she said she can't travel in d cold.

Am very sorry for the long post. Pls help! Am not together at all.

Don’t worry God’s favour shall be with us..can’t wait to read your testimony

My dear, the deed is done, you can't kill yourself. Just tell them the truth and apologise sincerely. Personally, I had no idea about the change of intention thingy, otherwise I would have applied for it.
As for the huge discounts, you didn't beg for it. It's what the service providers placed before you that you paid. Tell them you had no idea you were supposed to reject self pay discounts. That it's novel to you.
Besides, you are not going to have another baby so I don't see why they should still reject you.
I would have loved to say be confident, but I was gittery.
All the best tomorrow. The house awaits your success story.

sure.... I can’t wait to share my success story too

Good afternoon good people of this thread, please I need your candid advice, in 2015 I had a baby in the USA in August 2015 at 37weeks, in September 2017, I and my family applied for visa through Dropbox but we were denied under 221g, we went for interview, I was the only one questioned ( majorly about why I had so much discounted hospital bill and why I did not disclose my pregnancy status during our interview in Jan 2015) well we were denied visa. We are scheduled to have an interview tomorrow and I really don’t know what to expect and I am so anxious. NB:I am not pregnant at the moment. Please what can you all tell me to encourage me and help me prepare for tomorrow’s interview. Thank you
Please someone should help me out

Goodmorning VO,
Please advice me, i, my husband and daughter finished and submitted online, our visa renewal forms over a week ago. since then, we have been unable to successfully schedule an interview appointment or know if we qualify for the dropbox system because, my husband who is the person whose profile was used to get the visa 2 years ago and {main applicant},forgot his password for the profile previously used and he no longer has access to his former email. we provided feedback in order to rectify this, but up till date, we are still unable to proceed to the next stage.
My question is, can i create a new user with my details in order to complete the process? what is the implication?.
Thank you for all your assistance.

God Bless you. thanks

Sup, there is really no big deal about the name, from ur info, u and your family qualify for dropbox, all u need to do is while feeling the DS160 form, your maiden name will serve as named previously used while your marital name will be the current one. While submitting your document, you need to submit both passports cos they usually request for current passport and previous passport with already issued US visa.
my 2cents.

[quote author=abujaniv post=56143520]Hello Diapearl. The name change is a change to your identity, so you need to come in to reestablish that with fingerprints and an interview.

Dear VO, Thank you for your response. Please how do i request for the interview? secondly does my husband and daughter also need to come in for interview? or can they renew theirs via dropbox?.Thank you so much.

Dear VO, Thank you for your response.
Dear VO, Thanks for all your advices on this thread. i have just received my new passport reflecting my new surname( changed due to marriage). the question now is that i, my husband and daughter are due to renew our US Visa ( which was 2years and expired in January 2017). that i used for vacation as well as childbirth. Please are we eligible for dropbox renewal? if yes, do i attach my old passport with the new passport? do i also include my zero balance receipt from my childbirth?. Please advice me accordingly. Thank you so much.

Hello Diapearl. Name changes due to marriage do not have a negative effect. Be sure to put down your maiden name in the "other names used" part of the application.

Dear VO, Thank you for your response.

Dear VO,
Thanks a lot for your good work on this thread. Both my American visa and Nigerian Passport has expired. I am currently in the process of renewing my Nigerian passport to enable me apply for visa renewal. My former passport was in my maiden name so was the visa. But I wish to do a change of name for my passport. My question is, would the change of name affect the renewal of my visa negatively and would I still be eligible for Dropbox visa renewal. God bless you.

What's your point actually?
What debts and what do u mean by all this silly statements??
He admits the situation and never denied it.
Apart from the primary school teachers and workers of Imo transport Co, there is no other section that has been left unattended to in terms of salary payments.
And when u talk about huge debts you give us facts. Stop being sentimental.
House of Assembly members are also being owed since Feb.

You were able to lie with ease at the Embassy that you weren't pregnant at six weeks gone. You should be able to come up with defences that will conquer POE (even IAH - the best of them all).

I'ld advice you to be careful in trying to make this work. If you're "lucky", the CBP officer will search and look through all the pregnancy related records in your bag or scroll through your phone or tablet for preggie related information. All in the bid to puncture holes in your story
yes being some1 who isnt close to me, u would say i lied with ease... but at the time we booked for interview, i wasnt pregnant and i just found out few days b4 my interview that i was pregnant and was adviced by some1 ( whom i think may not also know the consequences of lieing about pregnancy status to a VO) not to disclose it because it would make them deny us visa. Ok i got the visa and while searching for cost n procedure to get hospital and birth in US i found this thread and from what i read i decided to ask this question.
meanwhile what is IAH?

To err is human...

This thread is primarily meant to help people gather or share appropriate information about a process and not how to circumvent that process. If the moderator is not going to speak out I will because the stigma of being from a "fraudulent "country affects us all. We must be the change we seek it's that simple. The fact that you could come back to attack me speaks volumes.
i am not attacking you. I dont know you apart from your username..... so why attack you. If u would re-read my 1st post..... i had already made the mistake b4 getting to know about this thread and while going through the thread i realized that i shouldnt have lied... i also know that no 1 is above mistakes and maybe, i may find people with similar experience who would be of help. I responded quoting you to emphasize that am not a VO and if there is a way to investigate, pls go ahead.

I think we should make it a point of duty to keep the integrity of this thread. Especially when someone has clearly confessed to misrepresentation during an interview . What if this was a "VO"lurking around this thread? We are already a country under suspicion let's try to keep this community above board please.
Amother4life.......please am here looking for help and not an undercover VO. I wonder why u singled out my post to be a VO's own. I have read how some peoples questions and worries were handled here and that is why i posted mine too.please stop discouraging those who honestly want to help. Thanks

I think you should write back to the embassy that you are pregnant and would like to birth in the US, if your visa has already been granted. You might be called in for an interview but you should be ready to defend yourself as to how you didn't realize you were pregnant at the last interview you had.
please what kind of defences would be viable.thanks
