Yeah, was trying to find out how you sorted your PRTD. It may be a long conversation, that's why I was trying to contact you..

Respond to the email request with a number for whatsapp and I'll get back or just write an email.

Take it easy bro. No matter the situation you find yourself, just know things could be worse. Always have that at the back of your mind. You feel okay when you tell yourself things are or will be okay.

Good day everyone. Please I'll like opinion on this. I just got married to my husband here in Nigeria. My husband is Canadian and I am Nigerian. He is planning to sponsor me to Canada as his wife (spousal sponsorship). I just want to know if anyone had a successful application and how long exactly before cic gave them visa? Did anyone had to wait for a year? And also I would like to know what documents were required exactly. I have done change of name and looking forward to getting a new international passport.
And also I've been denied visiting him before we got married I will therefore like to know if I can apply for visit while the application for spousal sponsorship is ongoing?

For spousal sponsorship, Accra VO will treat Nigerians applicstions and they are they slowest. Be ready to wait 11 months to get your visa. In exactly 5 months, you will be called for medicals if all is good. And 5 to 6 months later, your passport will embe requested for. Yes you can apply for a visit visa while PR is ongoing. Its called dual intent.

Good luck.

Good day
I just tracked my application and realized my passport has been ready for pick since January 18th How long can I leave the passport at vfs before I collect as I won't be going to Lagos until 12th of February. Can I wait till then?

If you have a trusted person in Lagos.. write then an authorization letter on a photocopy of your passport with their name and signature to pick it up on your behalf.

From my turkish vfs experience, they will return it to the embassy after 30days of no pick up. Call vfs lagos for accurate info..

You can have them mail it to you too..
You could also write dhl an authorization letter to pick up in your behalf.

I did last month. Submitted my PRTD application at VFS UK on 6th November and got my stamped passport back on 9th November. It was very easy and straightforward. In fact, they gave me two years multiple entry.

Wow great thanks a whole lot.

Hey @digitalgirl234 my PR card arrived in good time so I didn't need to apply for the PRTD. I know @jydexaus here applied earlier in the year and it took a very short while via VFS Lagos.

Have you called CIC to know what's up with your card and when is your travel date? I had to follow up with several phone calls and emails reminding them that the timeline for processing mine and my dependants cards were past due before they mentioned that our photos were ineligible. At the end it is the ineligible photos that were used to produce the cards (after sending 3 different sets).

If you haven't called please call them 1888 242 2100 and make sure you speak to an agent. Have details like your UCI, address, Date of birth at hand because they would need to verify you before any conversation. I used an internet phone app called rynga to call rather than use local naija mobile. You could use freetone.

Note that I had about 3 months before my travel date to do this chasing.

Thanks for the detail.. I have about 3 weeks to travel and time has not passed so I dont know if I can start bothering them yet. I'll call to find out all the same. Thank you again

That ia how I called CIC about my PR card that gas been pending and the agent said there is a note on my file for passport request.

What is annoying now is that I had resent passports since July which tracking showed it was received by the Card processing office.

Please can anyone advice in the way forward as I have to travel ASAP. How long does a PRTD take to process?
