Infotubia9ja: I have some questions for you. If you graduate with first, second or third class , relocate to western countries i.e USA Canada Luxembourg etc. if you want to push your professional career and go back to school, are you going to start at 100 level or go for your master degree? If you are going for your master degree with your Bsc from Nigeria? Do you still consider the Bsc not to be useful? 5 Likes |

Politics / Re: Tinubu Orders Full, Comprehensive Upgrade Of MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja by Dijita: 3:09pm On Dec 24, 2024 |
Franking: In most cases, the way stadium is financed in America is not different. Probably worst. In America, private sport owners will lobby for local or state government to finance their stadium. They will promote the benefit of employment and sales tax generated from the stadium as economic benefit to the state or the local economy. However, the profit generated by the sport franchise go to the club owners' pocket. This always lead to constant friction between club franchises and community advocates. If a super rich country like America is getting stadium financed by government, how do you expect Nigeria to get the money to build world class stadium without federal government intervention? I believe it is a worthy investment if the money will not be stolen. Once built the stadium should be self sustaining if properly managed. The problem is that our people are more interested in what they are going to steal instead of the service they can provide. |
Politics / Re: Farotimi: The Many Whys! by Dijita: 9:02pm On Dec 13, 2024 |
Isn't that how jurisprudence work? The small man is locked up for the big man to have peace of enjoying his loot. People are been locked up every day for stealing a loaf of bread and the big man is looting billions of dollars. The likes of Dele and his adversary are the great beneficiary. They are the merchant that specialized in getting the looters off the hook and hardly think about the plight of the poor masses. Where big and small elephants fight the grass is the one that will suffer. Let them fight out in their arena. May the best man win |

Crime / Re: Lagos Court Frees Dr Olaleye Over Defilement Of Minor Case by Dijita: 7:12pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
Tendd:Anywhere in the world, once your evidence is tainted, you lose the case. The police and the prosecutor bungle the case. It is quite unfortunate for the victim when the police and prosecutor failed to perform their duties diligently. How can you interrogate a defendant for six days? One of the cardinal principles of justice is that it is better to let a guilty person go than to convict an innocent person. If you interrogate an innocent man for 6 days he is most likely to confess to the crime he did not commit. That is why in developed country, the police and prosecutor makes sure they conducted their investigation thoroughly and by the book so that the guilty does not get off on technicalities. |
Car Talk / Re: Was I Rude Banning My Father From Entering My Car? by Dijita: 4:50pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
ChizzyBuna: My friend apologize to your Dad. Baba is not afraid of dying he is afraid of anything happening to you. He is a proud father in his child car going to the village. Few times my daughter drove me, I had to control myself not to say anything. The day she drove her mom and her mom complained to me. I used the opportunity to talk to her about what I termed her fast and furious driving habit. 1 Like |

Travel / Re: Why Does A Married Nigerian Woman Need Her Husband To Renew Her Passport? - Lady by Dijita: 3:48pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
michoim: Some of you commenters are commenting on half story. If you are married and apply for passport or want to renew passport the immigration is not going to ask for your husband passport. However, if you have a passport and you want to change your name due to change in marital status, then you will be required to provide the bio page of your new husband. How will you feel if the government issued passport to someone who claimed to be your son's wife and your son is not married to such person. Will you not blame the government for not been diligent? If you considered a man dangerous and no longer want to associate with such a man, why would you want to bear such person last name? |

Politics / Re: FG Cancels Foreign Trainings For Nigerian Scholars by Dijita: 3:04pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
Kukutente23: Topic like this is always hard to comment on in the Nigeria context. I disagree with you if everything else remain equal and the Nigeria factor is not considered. Instead of spending hard earned foreign currency on sending people overseas. The same amount of money can be used to build local capacity and infrastructure to train more people and improve our institutions. You can have international training online without leaving the country. Advancement in technology have made it easier to train people long distance without incurring the cost of travel, estacode and hotel accommodation. Since Nigeria have been sponsoring these scholars overseas, what has Nigeria benefited? What is the return on investment? It is time Nigeria start cutting it's coat according to the size of the cloth. Even if I agree with you that Nigeria needed these scholars, we just don't have the money for it any more. Off course the benefit gained from cancelling the sponsorship will end up in someone's else pocket. Hence the challenges one face in taking a position in this type of discussion. |
Politics / Re: Human Rights Activist, Comrade Prince Saviour Iche Urges Femi Falana SAN To With by Dijita: 1:17am On Nov 19, 2024 |
Is this man a lawyer? I don't understand how Falana in his right mind will withdraw the case unless he is guilty. How is withdrawing the case going to help his image? If he is guilty he can withdraw the case. his reputation will forever be soiled. If he is not guilty of the allegation the best route is litigation. Win or lose he will know that he fought a good fight to defend his reputation. |
Politics / Re: Ondo Election: Damagum Will Extinguish PDP - Ologbondiyan by Dijita: 7:21am On Nov 18, 2024 |
This is part of the problem with Atiku. He is not ready to roll up his sleeves and work hard to build, that is why he was jumping from party to party. There was a time Tinubu party was not as strong as it is now. Tinubu worked hard to build his party and aligned with others to form a national party and worked hard for all contestant when he is not even on the ballot. In the case of Atiku, if he is not in the ballot he is not doing what it takes to build the party to win. There was a time after he lost election that he left for Dubai and one can say he abandon the party. It was Wike and others that bankrolled and rebuild PDP before Atiku returned to contest again. We are witnessing the same situation all over again. 8 Likes |
