The answer from my perspective is that Nigeria certificate is useful . However, there is bias against foreign degree except in the field such as IT, engineering and medical.

I am a physiotherapist, I got a job in UK directly from Nigeria in 2022 and I moved there and I work with NHS, I only applied for a license to work as a physiotherapist in UK. That is all I did.

I have met so many doctors that studied in Nigeria, working as doctors here, they didn’t have to go to any more school, they just wrote the licensing exams to practice which is standard.

I have countless number of nurses who got job directly from Nigeria.

In most cases, the way stadium is financed in America is not different. Probably worst. In America, private sport owners will lobby for local or state government to finance their stadium. They will promote the benefit of employment and sales tax generated from the stadium as economic benefit to the state or the local economy. However, the profit generated by the sport franchise go to the club owners' pocket. This always lead to constant friction between club franchises and community advocates.

If a super rich country like America is getting stadium financed by government, how do you expect Nigeria to get the money to build world class stadium without federal government intervention? I believe it is a worthy investment if the money will not be stolen. Once built the stadium should be self sustaining if properly managed. The problem is that our people are more interested in what they are going to steal instead of the service they can provide.

Isn't that how jurisprudence work? The small man is locked up for the big man to have peace of enjoying his loot. People are been locked up every day for stealing a loaf of bread and the big man is looting billions of dollars. The likes of Dele and his adversary are the great beneficiary. They are the merchant that specialized in getting the looters off the hook and hardly think about the plight of the poor masses. Where big and small elephants fight the grass is the one that will suffer.

If you interrogate an innocent man for 6 days he is most likely to confess to the crime he did not commit. Some of you commenters are commenting on half story. If you are married and apply for passport or want to renew passport the immigration is not going to ask for your husband passport. However, if you have a passport and you want to change your name due to change in marital status, then you will be required to provide the bio page of your new husband. How will you feel if the government issued passport to someone who claimed to be your son's wife and your son is not married to such person. Will you not blame the government for not been diligent?
If you considered a man dangerous and no longer want to associate with such a man, why would you want to bear such person last name?

I'm an immigration officer, and much of what she wrote is inaccurate. The NIS does not require your husband's identity while processing a standard renewal. Such is only requested for in a situation whereby you're changing your surname either due to marriage, divorce or death.

So asking for such in the above circumstances aren't out of place, you can't just decide to change your surname without providing additional documents to back it up aside the birth certificate & local government identity.

This is an unjustified victimization of the service.

Topic like this is always hard to comment on in the Nigeria context. I disagree with you if everything else remain equal and the Nigeria factor is not considered. Instead of spending hard earned foreign currency on sending people overseas. The same amount of money can be used to build local capacity and infrastructure to train more people and improve our institutions. You can have international training online without leaving the country. Advancement in technology have made it easier to train people long distance without incurring the cost of travel, estacode and hotel accommodation.
Since Nigeria have been sponsoring these scholars overseas, what has Nigeria benefited? What is the return on investment? It is time Nigeria start cutting it's coat according to the size of the cloth. Even if I agree with you that Nigeria needed these scholars, we just don't have the money for it any more.
Off course the benefit gained from cancelling the sponsorship will end up in someone's else pocket. Hence the challenges one face in taking a position in this type of discussion.

At 23 yrs old the first mistake is purchasing a car you obviously can’t afford. Car insurance for a 23 yrs old and a first time driver is a nightmare, your insurance monthly payment may even be more than your monthly car loan payment. I graduated high school in 1987. I came from village to process my admission immediately after graduation. I passed through broad street and Tinubu square not far from bookshop house is Savannah bank. It is the first place I saw escalator. It is a glass house, you can see the escalator standing in the street. I also have a friend whose uncle is a senior staff at Savanah bank around the time.
