Politics / Re: Akinwumi Adeshina Prostrates To Greet Muhammad Buhari (Photo) by Dijita: 3:52am On Apr 18
Obaaderemi2:
Will you prostrate for your Hausa maiguard because he is older than you? Answer, so that we deduce wether you are Yoruba or are

No, because he is your employee. it also depends on your relationship. However, if the Hausa is your neighbor and say your father friend and his job is megard, the ethos of Yoruba tribe is to greet him with the same respect you will give your father. Yoruba ethos does to require you to prostrate to every person you meet. But it require you to be respectful no matter their status in society.
Your ability to distinguish who to prostrate to, bow than to and who not to is called home training aka wisdom. If Adewunmi is in a king palace he will prostrate all the way than he did to former president Buhari.

Also let say you have a megard in your house while you wer growing up and you now grow up and become a big man and return home you can still prostrate to greet the megard as a show of respect. In this case he is your father's employee not yours.

Why is this a big deal? He is a Yoruba man. Buhari is his elder and also his benefactor. This man will go to his village and do the same to the elders that are benefiting from him. It is a manner of greeting to show respect and humility in Yoruba land

Good characters comes from homes not from Universities . Westerns Education's doesn't Teach more morals and values as our cultures which many don't recognise any more . You can be educated and remain not useful BCS Universities don't Teach " Common Sense and morals .

I don't know the western universities you went to but in the two colleges I attended, part of the objectives of the humanities classes was the offering of framework for understanding ethics and morality by fostering critical thinking, providing historical context, and encouraging empathy and understanding of diverse perspectives. Helping students to analyze moral dilemmas, grapple with fundamental questions about good and evil, and ultimately train graduates to make more informed ethical decisions.

I also think you need to go back ans read history and I suspect you're a genz who wasn't in existence to have a fair share of experience with military if not you would not be saying this .you also need to read about fela and what obasanjo used fela eye to see when he was a military person.this one that bloggers or vdm dey call out politicians with their full chest and all levels of audacity, them no born you well and this is not a question of fear but because there was no rule of law or anybody to fight for you

papyjaypaul:
This is a good swipe at the Government that does out cash or money transfer or whatever they called it in the name of elections or Humanitarian Disaster Recovery they put us into.

The APC government today wants to enslave Nigerians so they can depend on them. That is why the other day someone said Professors should quickly get government appointment from Ibas even if it's illegal so they can cash out. He said they should take the opportunity when it comes to them. That's the immoral level APC has taken us to where you name the price and they will buy you.

It is so sad because before they came in, they advertised the best ideas. If only Nigerians knew they devil they knew in PDP was still better than these FAKE APC Angels.

APC has reduced governance to bambiala where you beg them for giving you money out of government wallet, your own money. Imagine a whole VP giving cash, Ministers giving cash. If PDP tried this before 2015, it would have been the scandal of the year they won't let us hear anything except kwaraption kwaraption kwaraption. Hypocrites

You comment is part of our problem. What did PDP did to better the life of Nigerian youth? My politician is better than your politician. my tribesman is better than yours is part of what is keeping us from moving forward.

Mr Adesina himself was one time minister for Agriculture and currently the AFDB chairman. He was and is in a better position to empower Nigerians and Africans more than anyone in the continent. While I appreciate him for raising the point, I still say talk is cheaper than action

Both Ndume and the presidency are playing politics. Otherwise they will support their position with facts. For example provide spreadsheet of all the president's appointment along with their state of origin.

I guess Peter Obi will not be joining the party. If this guy is running in 2027, what is El-Rufai going to benefit from this party then? I may be wrong, I don't thind Adebayo has the political weight to dislodge Tinubu from Aso Rock.
This is the problem of opposition in Nigeria, no one is ready to shelf their ambition for the other. This is one of the major reason Tinubu will continue to beat them

I am not a fan of His . But to say that Peter Obi make him popular means that you are a kid. This man has been in National politics long before Peter Obi. He was Part of Tofa NRC media team when he ran against Abiola SDP.
I saw him on TV then defending Tofa presidential debate performance against Abiola. No. Peter Obi did not make him popular

Properties / Re: AY Questions Nigerians’ Cycle Of Selling Lands To Relocate, Then Repurchasing by Dijita: 6:35pm On Mar 04
OChimex:

It's bad investment to work in America and use the dollar you make here to buy properties in nigeria in the name of investments. I don't mind people building nice homes back home for their occupancy.
I agree to that if you want to relocate permanently, soon. And stay back in nigeria. But if not, that's a bad investment
Let me explain mathematically...
2020, $1=365, you sent home $10k to buy land. Thats 3.65 million Naira. 2025, 5 years later, the land appreciated to 10 million naira.
Now convert the 10 million back to dollar, that's $6.6k
Your $10k is now worth $6.6k.
if you invested the money in America stock market you would have at minimum 15% returns.

Good morning everyone. I am hoping to get an idea of how much it would cost to fence standard 3 plots of land in Lagos.
Thanks
I decided to put this question to chart GPT. See the response below: the cost is off mark. I am not sure if the material and measurements are close:

I will reach out to you soon.

In my opinion real value is what people are willing to pay for an item.
You can have a 2003 Toyota corolla, spend 2m to paint it, put new tyres, spend 5m to change engine, do upholstery of 3m, change gear box with 4m etc, then say the corolla is worth 20m, people come and price it 7m, because that is what it is worth.

You are correct to certain degree, but in the case of public company, you have to show that the process is transparent. Imagine the Toyota belong to your great grand parent that is no more and you go and sell the Toyota for 7 million saying that it is the best you can get for it. What do you think will happened within your extended and immediate family members? If I report what is going on to my mother she will advised me to return the Toyota to the family. I am sure your mom will tell you the same. Even if it is yours alone you probably would decide to keep it rather than sell it.

Hello,
Whats the Location or Soil type.

Ciao

I believe it is sand. It is around Dangote area. I don't think the soil type will be necessarily be relevant as the foundation of the fence had been done with one or two blocks on top

No be only $700 million. Na $7bn

What was the state of the factory before it was sold? I’m pretty sure it was non functional. Ask the man how he got the value to be $700m in 2005 and he’ll blab.

The operative word is value. Valuation take into consideration the deteriorating state of all the assets in the company. valuation is normally done before sales to determine the worth of the company.

Politics / Re: Komolafe And His Uncommon Leadership At NUPRC by Dijita: 5:13pm On Feb 06
Praise singers. I did not read much measurable achievements in the write up. This man has been in office since 2021. Are we now producing more oil than our OPEC quota? or are we still struggling to keep up? Are all the wells producing at maximum capacity? Are we training/producing more indigenous engineers with the experience to reduce unemployment? There are many youths with degree in chemistry, chemical, mechanical and many other engineering majors lacking hands on experience necessary for career growth. A leader with the right foresight and innovative mindset will develop a way to incorporate these challenges into their strategic planning to help the nation move forward.
