Yeap... the rumors are true, the Empire State Building, a single Art Deco Skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan makes 40% of it's annual revenue from the 86th and 102nd floors thanks to tourism. Tourism brings in $111, 000, 000 annually, that is about N40, 000, 000, 000 (fourty billion Naira) The Empire State Building stands at a total height to 443 meters (1,454 feet) from base to top of broadcast antenna Most of the floors are taken up by office spaces, but the 86th and 102nd floors are open to the public as observation decks. The observation decks of the Empire State Building are open every day of the year, from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m, and attract over 4million tourists annually. According to TripAdvisor it would cost you about N13,367 to visit the oberservatory. From street level to the 102nd floor there are 1,872 steps. A race up the stairs to the 86th floor is held annually, the athletes must climb a total of 1,576 steps In 2011, Cornell researchers analyzed millions of Flickr photos and concluded that the Empire State Building is the most photographed building in the world. Obviously with no harassment whatsoever from security agents #JustSaying Filmmakers have featured the building in more than 250 movies, a record any Hollywood superstar would envy. Since 2001, almost all of NYC’s TV and radio stations are transmitted from its antenna. In 2012, the ownership installed a new computer driven LED light system. The system is capable of displaying 16 million colors, which can change instantaneously. It stages dazzling light shows celebrating holidays and events; the light shows can also be synchronized to music... Just google "Empire State Building Light Show", thank me later Its name is derived from the nickname for New York, the Empire State. How about a tour around National Stadium, Aso Rock Villa and The National Assembly Complex... anyone cares to join?
