On Di’Ja’s “The Way You Are” both singers celebrate their sexuality simply by expressing it, and since then, Tiwa has gone on to add songs like “Get it down” to her pool of body and sexual positive music.

DjajiPrime:
Hey guys, my name is Djaji. I'm a Nigerian Youtuber, and I have a channel dedicated to music reviews. I review various genres including genres from Nigeria, and I'm probably the most consistent, and HONEST channel when it comes to reviewing Nigerian music on YouTube!

Independent, no gimmicks or promo, just trying my best to be objective with the music (can't be completely objective, as we all have our biases).

So if you've been looking for video reviews on Nigerian music, or would like to check out how I review albums on YouTube, please be sure to click the link below, check out my videos (maybe subscribe too), and help support a young Nigerian YouTuber.

Music/Radio / Re: What Are The Genres Of Hiphop/rap We Have In Nigeria? by DjajiPrime: 2:12pm On Nov 20, 2016
SocialItch:
I've been wondering about the genres/sub-genres of hip-hop in Nigeria? I know we have:

Underground rap - Modenine
Alternative - BlackMagic
Gangsta - Godwon, Sinzu
Pop rap - Ice prince, Dprince(?)
Rap rock - SoulSnatchas
Grime - Skepta

What category is Olamide and Phyno? Plus do we really have others. Please reply with examples too.

Gracias

Nigerian "rap" is very under-developed as most of these rappers are more interested in creating cross over tracks, than creating a body of work that really tells a compelling story, or has some sort of theme. Most of their bars are juvenile, but Phyno I will say is impressive, as far as his flow goes. I wish I had a good understanding of the Igbo language so as to really dissect his lyrics.

Phyno and Olamide could go in the category of Local/ Street rap I guess.
