Thanks to everyone that responded.

Some other enquiries,

1. Who should carry the funds, the applicant or the sponsor?
2. Whose bank statement would be submitted, the applicant, sponsor or both?
3. The account should be savings or current? (or business account, I'm not so sure but aren't business and current account the same?)
4. How do you guys pay for the application fees, naira or dollar card?

Thank you!

Hello house,
Please can someone advise me on the upfront medicals please.
I'm a prospective student for Canada and going by the time already, applying for the NSE is my best bet, and for this I would need an upfront medical.
So my question,
1. In order to do this upfront medicals must I have commenced any form of the visa process or I can just go ahead with first getting the medicals done in preparation for the visa application.
2. How much does it costs. Particularly for ikeja, Lagos.
3. How long does it take to get the results ready for the visa process.

NB: I'm for the winter intake 2023 and don't want it to pass or be deferred due to processing time, reason why I'm gathering info on what it's going to take to be eligible for the NSE which includes ielts, police clearance and biometrics.

So given all these can anyone just kindly advice on how to adequately time and arrange myself in order to be able to meet up.
Thank you!
Travel / Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Djdimeji: 1:57pm On May 04, 2022
selenium:
I will be applying for my Ireland study visa soon and it's not really clear what support documents are required.

I've seen on this thread someone talking about attestation of documents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Population Council.

I can't find any of such here: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming-to-study-in-ireland/what-are-my-study-visa-options/how-to-apply-for-long-term-study-visa/#guide

From those who are more experienced and have walked this path, are there any local requirements one should be aware of?

E.g I was born before 1992, will I need attestation of DoB from NPC?

Not an expert, but having read a couple of years back into the thread (I recommend you do the same, to confirm yourself) haven't seen any local requirement as you call it. Gather all your documents as shown in the screenshot you uploaded, ensure they follow the guidelines as stated in the expanded section [+] , ensure your sponsor and proof of funds are well explained and enough to cater for your needs, again as stated in the expanded section of the proof of funds, follow Vfs guidelines too, which can be found on the Vfs website. You should be good to go having satisfied all the requirements to the provided guidelines.
Again i'm NO expert and recommend to read back into the thread to clear your doubts and get clarity.
Best!

Hello Guys,

For your translation into Spanish (she does French translations as well), please I highly recommend Vivian. She has an excellent sense of humor and very understanding, like very very!
She's Nigerian who leaves abroad which explains why she's understanding and also affordable.

You don't need PayPal or bank draft or anything of such as she uses a local account where you can transfer into without worries.

For translation, just snap the documents (all the pages you choose to translate), make sure it's super clear and clean and you're good to go.

Thanks for the info on this thread. It was a life saver. Abet people should continue to contribute for others. You never know who you are helping. I also want to add a few suggestions to the topic (for the students);

- If you need a part time job, you're better off in the States, England or Canada. You need a passive understanding of Spanish and whole lot of paper work before you see am. Jobs like working in Irish bars, clubs, (maybe cleaning) fit work but your studies might be affected.

- CUT YOUR COAT ACCORDING TO THY SIZE. ORINGO, FAAJI PLENTY FOR HERE O.

- You want to save , carry your African wakis like ogbono, egusi, ground pepper, cray fish stock come. Unless you want to blow through your money quickly.

- Make the best of the experience. It's life changing.

-For cheap groceries, Mercadona, Lidl, Carrefour, Dia will serve. Visit them and compare prices. House brands are cheaper but if you buy foreign brands, it could be expensive.

- If you in Barcelona, be careful. Pickpockets are in the crowded areas.

- The Pakistani and Indians sell lot of African, oriental and carribean groceries. So if you looking for garri, beans, plantains (the markets gave them too) you'll get them there. Finally,

YOU'LL ASK YOURSELF WHAT IN HEAVENS NAME IS WRONG WITH NIGERIA.

once again to those that started and contributed to the thread, baba God bless you.

Congratulations!

Here are updates that I think people should know.

1. Legalisation per page at the Spanish consulate is now 3100 per page. Remember to hold the exact amount of money as no change will be given and they won't keep the change. Asking them to keep the change is an easy way to get sent out of the consulate.

2. To avoid investigation for your transcripts and degree certificates, please go to your university and request that official transcripts, copy of your certificate and an attestation letter (confirming that you're a graduate of that school) be sent to the consulate directly from your school's registrar or other office with appropriate jurisdiction. Wait till you're sure they've gotten it at the consulate (confirm by sending them a mail, asking if they've received it, they should reply) before booking appointment and making an appearance. When you get there, tell them your school has sent in official transcripts. Hopefully, they should waive it for you.

That's all I have for now.

Felt this can be of help.

***Differences/Similaritiesbetween Schengen Visa and National Visa ******

A Schengen visa (Type C) is a visa issued by one of the member countries of the Schengen Area and is valid for a short stay, limited to 90 days within any 180 days period, only for Schengen countries. European competence to receive and issue such visas is made by the consulate of the country of destination. In case of a trip in multiple Schengen countries, the main destination is determined by the purpose of the trip or duration of the stay. Professional reasons for a stay in a Schengen country outweigh its jurisdiction on the grounds against tourism, family or private visit in another state.

A national long stay visa (Type D) is only valid for an establishment or a stay of more than 90 days in the country which issued the visa. The national visa allows, however, transit through other Schengen countries and for some (long stay French citizen’s spouse, workers, students or visitors), it also allows traveling freely throughout the Schengen area.

How much is cheap accommodation for student in Barcelona around UPC and how can someone get one? I am seeing something like €400/month in UNIPLACE which is too high.

I don't know buh, for a state capital like that, 400 would PROBABLY be their cheap. Especially Barcelona and Madrid.
Buh then you can use the search filter to search a range of the amount on your mind, or consider other agencies / websites.
Best of luck!

Dimeji, my is whether Madera or undergrad or PhD, you'llm need to go to WAEC office and request that your result be sent to the consulate. You are not to take it there yourself.

However you'll need to go with your original waec result given to you and also send it to theIbistry of Education and Foreign Affairs for legalization. After that you should find a recognized translator to translate your documents to Spanish (I did mine in Spain because the embassy does not recognize the ones done here. Unless someone on nairaland has a suggestion). All these can be done at once before you book an appointment for legalization.

Pending on your choosing program, undergrad will take a month, masters will be 3 months because they will investigate your degree. Either way, you need to do things quickly but pay attention to detail. Hope this helps.

Just putting it out there for the benefit of others,
Waec is NOT needed to be sent to the embassy.

This information goes out to Master's degree applicants.

And somewhere along the lines in this thread as well, it was stated/Confirmed that Waec isn't needed to be sent to the embassy for Master's degree applications.

Save your 10naira!!!

Documents we authenticated and legalized at the ministry if foreign affairs Abuja. That's where mine was done. An educational consultancy firm are the ones that handled that. If you were born before 1992, you'll need the attestation of birth from NPC and the declaration of age from court of competent jurisdiction and they both are to be legalized.

Hope that helps and please to everyone contributing on this forum God bless you all. Continue assisting those of us that need the counsel as I have not had hassles in my application since I joined the forum.

Thanks bruh!

One more question pls. Is it true I have to send my Weac result to the embassy directly from weac?

I was just wondering why, coz I didn't even use Waec result when applying for admission. Did you do same?

(Thanks for your guidance bruh)

Hey y'all. I have sent a mail to the Spanish consulate Lagos to book appointment for legalization. My documents have being legalized by the ministry of foreign affairs and translated. I want to know how much I should go with because this will be by God's grace the 1st time I'll be going to study overseas. Bsc to be precise.

Secondly, do I require my sponsors bank statement when going. And he will I need to go with CAC certificate.

Also what should his bank statement be like because I'm hearing people here talking about having enough balance for the duration of study.

For those that have an idea, I'll gladly appreciate your input (now I know what it's like to seek for visa.. .better piss dey hol me for the past 1 month)

Hello Paul, please I wanna ask please, when you authenticated your documents at the ministry, particularly the birth certificate, was it Birth certificate you used or Atestation of birth certificate.
And
Where did you authenticate it Lagos or Abuja. Or perhaps can anyone kindly reply please. (Having a hard time getting that Atestation birth certificate documents) so I wanna know if the normal birth certificate from NPC can as well be authenticated.

Thank you!
