Business / Re: How First Bank Did not pay us for designing 125th Year Logo(read FBN's reply) by DNSPro: 5:55am On Mar 20, 2020

I need to add my voice to this. Some people's comments here shows how stupid, uninformed, unreasonable, unintelligent they are. I hope and pray that those castigating the people who have worked for their idea and not been paid, if they are working for government will not collect their gratuities and those ones in the private will get sacked without compensation and lastly business owners customers will buy from and not pay. I bank with firstbank, I am moving. We are too complacent. lobatan

You should not be surprised. Nigerians are among the most wicked people on earth.

As I am speaking now a man above 50 years tricked my friend to bring one of our merchandise and that he wants to show someone, my friend gave it to him out of trust. This man took it and sold it, kept the money and never said anything about.

I called my friend to demand for it and he said he gave it to the man.. I called the man and told him. This foolish old man yelled at me on the phone saying which thing blah blah.

The mistake he made was that he thought I am generally quiet during most of previous meetings and so he thought I was an idiot.

You know those quiet people with a hot temper, that is me.

After calling up to 4 times with the man denying and even talking to me rudely, I had to show him another side of me.

I change am for baba not minding his age. He saw hell and has pleaded he will get it back from the people he gave it to. I will give him till first week of next month. If he doesn't, I will use police to pick him up and they will provide it instantly.

There is another case my friend is battling now. A guy he supplied stuff has refused to pay since December. He called the guy, met with him, called the brother and it one story to another.

Yesterday, my friend got the guy arrested and he was begging.

There are numerous cases.

This is why I can Never borrow a Nigerian money till I die. I can only gift you what I am comfortable with but for me to borrow you money? It can't happen!

Nigerians don't pay debt.

Asin what he is not understanding is that he is killing his own brand, way more than first bank.
First of all.. first bank will never give him another job.
Secondly, other brands will run away from him.
This is Nigeria.. all the top ogas at the helms of these brands are friends, they are seeing what is happening, after the kind of ridicule you re subjecting fbn to, you think they will want to come to you.
They ofcourse know that if something happens and they default on payment, you will do something similar to their brands..
I am only concern about your beautiful brand.. to come up with that logo is no easy task sir.

From look of things.. you gave them an invoice after they must have already lifted and started using the logo.
And they felt they amount you want is outrageous.

Sir
From the video I saw on Sahara reporters.. you look mature and old.
You don't just go to the village square and accuse your neighbor's son of stealing your goat, you first of all meet one or two elders and visit his house.

Also begging on public forum is not gonna help you sir, except if you re been sponsored by other forces.

Don't bother going to court, waste of time and resources.

Only solution is set up a meeting with the legal team or the top management of FBN.
Go along with a reporter and a lawyer, if you are scared.
But this show will only hurt your startup.
You will end up collecting jobs from minions instead of the big fishes out there.

If I was the one..I will never create something like this.
The money in that bank does not belong to the CEO or any manager or legal department. It's not a one person's bank..so they are even looking to spend the money

People work for govt. Brands, they don't get paid and they don't make fuse about it . They only lobby to be paid.
No one is saying this is good.
But sometimes you lose to gain, lose some money to gain bigger money.
This is all business.
People spend 1million just to get a contract of 500,000. You think they are foolish? Noo they know that more bigger ones will come.

But
Look at this scenerio sir.
If you had not come up with this act
If first bank have a contract at a future date.. and you come up.. they will look back at your previous service, which they so much love and Def give you a better job.
Jobs will now even come in more frequently

In your mind, you think you are making sense. May this country kill of you soon or later. I dnt even feel pity for those who experienced explosion in Lagos last Sunday cos many of them felt that as long as they have their cars and duplex, they are fine.

Don't worry continue

This might help someone.

I've had by far the highest response rate today since I started domain outbound. Even those who never replied before did.

What did I do differently?

My subject carried a question mark I.e Nigerian caterer? Caterer in Nigeria?

Salutation was Hey Username or Hi Username.

Body of mail was straight to the point: Are you interested in getting/owning/having/purchasing/etc nairaland.com for your business?.. (paraphrased)

Closing included a link to my twitter page
Let me know.

I bought a domain a couple of weeks ago I listed it on epik and Dan market place but the domain was already listed on afternic for 450$ and I forgot to contact afternic to delist the name, i did outbound and today I receive a message from the former owner asking how much I will sell it, I told him $499 and he later reply by declaring himself the former owner that a buyer have hit his bin on afternic. Now he is asking me how we will come to conclusion

Contact Afternic for the sale and show prove that the domain name is with u.

They collect the money and send it to you.

Hi everyone.

I am new here, in fact this is going to be my first post on nairaland. Forgive me if I break any rule, I will keep it very simple.

I'm a fresh graduate, just graduated last year, was not able to go for NYSC due to my age. Simply want to ask, what are the chances of securing a job considering I am above 30.

Before I forget, I studied Business Administration (KASU) with a second class upper. Thanks everyone.

Stop posting other people's sales here because you don't know the stories behind it. If you want to motivate us, use your sales. My last sale report was my second garage doors sale in one month. Increase traffic and whois visit in my other garage door domain shows that guys are working hard. Thanks!
stop telling people what to do with their space. If you don't like it, Waka pass.

Even on namepros, people post sales that isn't theirs to help build up the data needed for future forecast.

check the date of that thread... it is 2015. As at 2018 or 2019, there was a new rule by GODADDY. So if any domain name gets renewed while at auction, Godaddy is not the registrar but their partners because the new rule by Godaddy is for only domain names which Godaddy serves as the registrar.

But why does it have to be facebook? You guys should have a team that help handle these kind of things for you. It will bring in more sale. That is what is helping Dan.

You do not get me. There is new rule by Godaddy as per last year or the year before that. Godaddy owned domains can't be renewed once they are at auctions. The ONLY ones that can be renewed are those of partners because those ones do not fall under Godaddy policies.

I'm beginning to think this Godaddy's auctions are rigged or something is seriously wrong. I won an expiring auction last week, paid in full and was supposed to hit my account today.. Only for Godaddy to send me a mail this morning that the transfer has been cancelled..
Called them only to tell me the domain can't be transferred bla bla bla n I'll get a refund.. Gosh I'm so sad right cos I had to compete with someone who made a proxy bid up to low $Bleep and even had to borrow to complete payment when I won.. The said domain is reg with Tucows (owned by godaddy) and currently on pending transfer..

A domain I would have held on to and planned to sell at least $5k.. BTW, this ain't the first time it's happened.. O dun mi gann

Who's experienced this before?

Beckplanet iykepromotions haykay2005

That domain does not belong to Godaddy but its partners in expiry auctions. Godaddy expired domains can't be renewed once it hit auction. It must go through.

So it happens because the domain name is either namecheap or name.com or network solutions or dynadot.

Please has epik ever helped anyone here close a sale.

Like you did outbound and someone shows real interest and is asking the tricky 'how much' question. Then at that point you bring epik in to help you 'negotiate' with buyer.

I think it would be best for Epik to start doing this. it will help increase their bottom line and revenue.

Take everything you read from people with a pinch of salt, regardless of who said it. I have read sh1t like that. "Sales letter is just 5% of the job".. Are you speaking from personal experience? If not, I suggest you zip it. Most of the names being sold here would never have sold had it been just one line the sellers sent out... Such sales letters would only work for brandables that didn't even need outbounding in the first place.

What do you know?

So all those names getting Bin buys or sales or offers, what sales letter did the owners use to sell them apart from what the domain name stand or its meaning?

Write the best sales letter on a shitty domain and let's see how far u can go with that. I am sure a lot of guys have such domains here. Collect it from them Mr sales letter and flip it.
