Abeg, does anyone know anyone who went for interview in July and after that has gotten visa? Let's share good news and encourage others that are waiting abeg. |

MarvinAjereh01: It is quite difficult to understand your post. You said you did verification July 2019, and also said it's been 2 months 9 days (i.e. September 2020) since you did verification.. which is it? However, to answer your question on the process (based on stories from NL and people who have had different experiences); 1. Apply for appointment 2. Get appointment date for between 10-12 months in the future 3. Go for the appointment, submit document and do visa interview 4. Count down to between 3-6 months visa processing time starts 5. Your case is assigned to a Lawyer to verify your existence and records you submitted. This step can take between 1-3 months. 6. The lawyer submits the report back to the embassy 7. The embassy reviews the report of the lawyer and determine if you should be approved for the visa 8. Approval from the embassy. Mail to submit your passport, travel dates and health insurance comes in. 9. Passport is returned. 10. Japa! Step 3-9 is what takes 3-6 months. In that time, the embassy in Nigeria sends your original submitted documents to the home office of the city you are moving to in Germany. They also do verifications and all. So, what "verification" have you done? That your lawyer visited you doesn't mean he has submitted the report. They have to verify every single document you submit. i.e. They visit everywhere that issued said document to confirm the authenticity of the document. That is why it takes forever. So while blaming the german embassy for inefficiencies, spare some for the Nigerian government and people that got us here in the first place. Nigeria has no public document authentication system, so no way to verify that the document you are presenting is not faked except to go cross check with the issuing agency. Nigerians in the past have also faked documents, and marriages, and other things, hence the strictness with Nigeria and similar countries. Ghana's process take less than 3 months for most cases. Exceptions dey sha.. But that's the general gist. This is the normal flow for most applications. But as usual, there are exceptions on a case by case basis. But most follow the steps outlined above. 7 Likes |

nolia66: Hi @nolia66, does this mean that the embassy has reached out to you again since after your lawyer reached out to do your verification? If yes, that's some good news for those that did interviews post lockdown |
