Can someone take this on,pls: Is Government an art subject in OAU? When u also consider tht the subject combos for Art in PD is either EGL or CGL,does this not mean that OAU accepts Economics,Govt, and Lit for Courses like English Language? plssssssssss |

funtanherb: Brother Maths is required in OAU check the jamb broc waiver section ...You need to get a change of course form from OAU as soon as it is available ...I would have choose UNILAG for philosophy but i didnt because government is an approve social science subject in that school..that was the problem a guy on UNILAG thread his subject combination for english was Lit in english, government and economics and his admission was rejected because the brochure stipulated that the requiremnet for English was LIT IN ENGLISH,ONE ARTS SUBJECT AND A SOCIAL SCIENCE SUBJECT and since government was an approved social science subject in UNILAG his admission was rejected You know,I did the exact same subject combos for English in OAU,cos I thought Government is an Art subject. So I ask pls,Is Government an art subject in OAU? When u also consider tht the subjects combos for Art in PD is either EGL or CGL,does this hold? |

I found this, for English Majors. Many amongst us might find the first paragraphs useful,as it pertains to all. Welcome to the Department of English Department of English Language and Literature Curriculum Course Codes The code of each course in the Department begins with a three- letter abbreviation (ENG), which represents the Department of English. This is followed by a three digit number, the first of which indicates the year of study in which the course is taught, the second digit refers to the subject area within the course and the third digit represents the number of times the course has run in that area and the semester for the course; odd numbers refer to the first semester, and even numbers of the third digit refer to the second semester. There are however some exceptions. The stress areas represented by the middle digit are numbered as follows: 1. Linguistics- General Language Courses 2. Language- Phonetics and Phonology 3. Language-Morphology, Syntax and Semantics 4.Language-Composition, Reading and Writing 5.English Literature-Survey and General Courses 6.Literature in English - Area Studies, Including African Literature, etc. 7. English Literature - Stress areas e.g Poetry, Drama,Fiction 8. English Literature - Specific Periods, Specific Authors 9. Project, Research Methods, Special Methods 10. Basic/Elementary. Designation/ Status of Courses Major courses: These are compulsory courses. They are Core courses within the Department of English that must be taken and passed. Required courses: These are courses outside the discipline; otherwise known as subsidiary, that must be taken and passed. Elective courses: These are courses within or outside the discipline from which students select a number, for purposes of fulfilling the minimum requirements for the award of the degree. Which ever one selected must be taken and passed. General Studies: These are courses under the School of General Studies programme which students must do to fulfill the University requirements for the award of the Bachelor’s degree. These course must all be passed. Optional Compulsory: These are major departmental courses from which students choose for the purposes of completing the number of required credits for the semester. More importantly, the courses chosen from this group of courses help to orientate a student towards language, or towards literature, and help to indicate the student's area of greatest interest. Just a cool feeling the name comes with, OAU is enough to keep you craving to be an under-G there.I didn't say "mind bugging." I had a wonderful first impression. That's what I meant, your first impression,Sir. |

Jodekss: O, believe me boy, offences were intended in your last words/post that was riddened with supra-kind, in texture of filth. I have been writing poems and other crazy writs afore you started sitting down preparing for your WASSCE, I am me and honestly chum, you do not want to provoke me, ask last year's trend, they are gonna fill your bellicose brains and titchy thumbs via your nuts ears with food for thought about my alacrity...Oh my! None of what I wrote was directed at you personally! And when I said," who are you dude?" it was meant to commend ur intelligence and person! Chill sire! Like you said,am your boy! Mehn you rock! Lastly if I did provoke you,am sowie, never intended to. |

Jodekss: mine 4... But really, since the first day I saw Oduduwa statute raised up high whilst travelling through the road just at the front of the entrance gate and dat was when am not yet 10 years old but the interest boomed up the more in '08 when I visited the hinter areas of the great sitter-DEL...Oh,nice. I happened to arrive one night! And that was enough. The halls of residences, the tarred roads, the looming nd beauiful edifices, and the seruious students milling about,Wow! I fell in love with the School instanta! That night my Guardian took me around and ..........It was love at first sight. Has anyone seen the huge edifice at the Faculty of Agriculture? Five floors high!!!! |

Jodekss: I love ur early paragraphs I must profess may God help us all but the tail of your post sound personal, like a feud...Geez! Who are you dude! You know what, now I absolutely without any ounce of vacillation,or doubt believe you wrote those poems you've been posting! You musta read my comment with feelings! I actually wanted to hammer on those derailing this thread, then mellowed. A lot of the guys we see as guests and ghosts are in serious distress! This thread has got to stay on its intended path, dispensing useful infos that will aid 'em. While we wanna share some fun and jokes along the way, that should not relegate to the background the purpose of this forum. Hey,No Offence intended. ( I really wanna see what Chiamaka looks like) |

I have this gut feeling that the many who made it to the Merit list have been trying to get admitted into this great school,on the average, say 3 years. True or False. |

To all those just confirmed as being on the Merit List, I rejoice with y'all. Ƈ♡ИƓŔΛŦS! Ƈ♡ИƓŔΛŦS!! Ƈ♡ИƓŔΛŦS!!! To all still processing their admission, you have our prayers. To all unsure of where they'll be come next year, gird your loins and teleport to Ife. To all those besmirching this thread, scamper! To people like Chiamaka who will not show their face(Imagine, they said she ain't got any pic on her Facebook page, why's it called Facebook, ehn?),comply or forever remain young! |
