NefT:I don't think you'll have any issues at your POE. Mine was due to expire 23rd July, my interview was on 22nd July. No issues were raised regarding it at my POE. 1 Like |

Oga @MackyNaija, Well done Sir. I have a question regarding how you manage to get A’s with all the other activities you’re involved with. Could you give a breakdown of what you did in your Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters to maintain these excellent grades, while at the same time making sure there was a balance with non-academic involvements. Thanks |

Good day everyone. I have learnt a thing or two here and I think it’s best I give back. My visa interview on 22nd May went thus: VO: Why are you going to The University of Texas Arlington? Me: To pursue my MS in Materials Science and Engineering VO: How did you get to know UTA? Me: A combination of advice from EducationUSA Advisers and my interest in Materials for Solar energy research informed my choice VO: Did you apply to other schools? Me: Yes I did - Stevens Institute of Technology and University of North Texas VO: So why did you pick UTA over the others? Me: My correspondence with the Graduate Advisor at UTA convinced me that the Materials Science and Engineering program at UTA matched my proposed research focus best VO: When did you get your Bachelors? Me: 2015 VO: What did you do afterwards? Me: Went for my NYSC which concluded in October 2016 VO: Where did this take place? Me: Told her VO: What were your duties and responsibilities? Me: I taught Physics and Further Mathematics to secondary school students VO: Who will be funding your studies? Me: My Dad will VO: What does he do? Me: Told her VO: Do you know anyone in the US? Me: Yes, my Uncle and Sister VO: What is your sister’s major? Me: Told her VO: Your visa has been approved, be sure to keep your I-20 well because it’s very important. You will be contacted via text and email as soon as your passport is ready for pickup. For some context: UG GPA: 3.51/4.00 (Major: Materials Science and Engineering) GRE: 315 - Q160 V155 AW3.0 TOEFL: 105 - R26 L28 S26 W25 We never know what works unless we try. I believe in God; He was and still is very important in all this. Thanks to everyone who makes out time to offer their opinion and advice here. Cheers! 20 Likes 1 Share |

Quoran:I'm not quite sure I know why the system is rejecting your passport photograph, but I think this might be helpful: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos/digital-image-requirements.html You could use "Paint" to resize the resolution of your passport photo accordingly. Hope this helps. Cheers! 4 Likes |

Hello everyone. Please I'd like to know if anyone has successfully transferred his/her SEVIS payment from one SEVIS ID to another. If you have, was there a change in your date of payment? Thanks. |

Bendererem: If you paid the acceptance previously, you'll need to notify the school of that. Ask them whether you have to make the payment again. My guess is they'll say yes (I'm inferring from what they said). In a nutshell, contact your school for their policy on admission deferrals. Each SEVIS fee payment is valid for a year. If your previous payment was made less than a year ago, you don't have to pay another SEVIS fee. See www.fmjfee.com |

Chinewon88: Thanks for your contribution. I doubt we're talking about the same school though. If I'm not mistaken, the one you're referring to is located in Oakland, California whereas my question was in relation to the one in Pennsylvania. |
