Politics / Re: Now That Kwarans Have Realised: CONGRATULATIONS To Kwara People by DrDee1(m): 1:38pm On Sep 25, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
Since 1979 the people of Kwara state have been caged under the political dynasty of the Sarakis. This enslavement was pioneered by the late Olusola Saraki and carried on by his son, Senator Olubukola Saraki. For those that may not understand, Olusola Saraki was the father of Olubokola Saraki, the embattled President of the Senate. I shall give a run-down on the Saraki Dynasty from 1979 to date.

The Saraki Political Dynasty:
Since creation in 1967 till date, Kwara state has produced a total of SIX Executive Governors. All SIX Governors were/are installed by the Saraki Dynasty. In 1979, Olusola Saraki brought late Adamu Attah as the National Party of Nigeria(NPN) governorship candidate for Kwara state election. Attah was elected, while Saraki was elected Senator and also majority leader of the senate. In 1983 Olusola Saraki had problem with Attah and NPN National leadership, he re-contested the Senatorial election and also shifted base to UPN where he brought Cornelius Adebayo as his candidate. Adebayo and Saraki emerged victorious. Buhari's December 1983 coup cut short Adebayo's 4-years tenure and ushered in long military rule. When IBB 'pretended' to return democracy, Olusola Saraki, a member of SDP brought in another of his pretege Muhammed Lafiaji as his candidate for the December 1991 Governorship election in Kwara state. Lafiaji won. Lafiaji took power in January 1992 but his tenure was cut short by Abacha coup in November 1993. With the return of democracy in 1999, Olusola Saraki, a member of APP brought another of his protege Muhammed Lawal as his candidate for the governorship election. Lawal was elected and ruled for 4years. He also presented his daughter Gbemisola as the House of Represntative candidate for their district, which she won. However, because Lawal later fell out with Pa Olusola Saraki, coupled with the problem he was having with National ANPP in the build-up of the 2003 poll, Olusola Saraki defected to PDP and brought his Son Bukola Saraki as the governorship candidate of PDP in the 2003 poll. He also presented his daughter Gbemisola Saraki as the party candidate for 2003 Kwara South Senatorial election. Bukola Saraki defeated incumbent Lawal and Gbemisola climbed to the Senate. Olusola 'retained' the positions for his children in the 2007 election. In 2011, Olusola Saraki and his son played a fast one on Kwarans that saw his son replace his sister in the senate, while a new stooge, Abdulfatah Ahmed was installed as the Governor.

BUKOLA CONTINUED THE DYNASTY
The death of Olusola Saraki in 2012 saw the natural inheritance of the Saraki dynasty by Bukola Saraki, who was determined to maintain the dynasty and possibly handover to his own children when they come of age. In 2015 the fraudulent change mantra saw Saraki retaining and advancing the cause of the dynasty. Also note that the Sarakis have always determined who get what from councillor to chairman up to ministerial and board appointments from Kwara state since 1979.

What Did Kwarans Gain From Saraki Dynasty?
The Saraki's practically turned Kwarans to beggars while feeding fat on their common wealth. A tour round Kwara state will reveal acute poverty and suffering of the people. The Sarakis from time to time do prepare 'food' and give to the hungry people that they deliberately impoverished. The people inturn hail them with chant of 'ranka-dede'. The only gain Kwarans get was glorified beggar status and national mockery.

Now That Kwarans Have Woken Up:
For 36years Kwarans have maintained the status of beggars, feeding from whatever drops to the floor of those that cornered their collective wealth. Today, Kwarans in their numbers came out to pelt stones to their oppressors; the Saraki dynasty. With the pelting of stones/satchet water on Saraki, Kwarans have realised and are now saying 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH'. I wholeheartedly congratulate Kwara people and I assure them that they have the support of Nigerians of good conscience. However, I want to encourage them to keep their PVCs safe because it is the only legitimate tool to kick-out every oppressors and their stooges from position of leadership.

I pray that other Nigerians learn from Kwara people and liberate themselves from the claws of fraudulent establishment that called themselves 'godfathers'.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to Kwara people.

May God Bless The People of Kwara state
May God Bless Us All

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Agreed To Swap Chibok Girls With Arrested Bomb Expert — Buhari by DrDee1(m): 10:03am On Sep 16, 2015
Flets:
Some months back, Buhari and his APC condemned this same negotioation by the Ex-government
Few days back, Defence headquarters claimed they eliminated Bokoharam
Last week, Buhari said Chibok girls have been married out to Bokoharam members
There is no greater level of inconsistency and hypocrisy as this

Which girls are they negotiating for?.... the already married out ones?
Who are they negotiating with and where are they located as we've been informed that all BH camps have been dislodged?
Is Buhari negotiating from a position of strength or weakness?

And now... we are negotiating with terrorists. If only people are aware of what is going on in this country under APC.
The target end to all this is amnesty to some terrorists while some girls will be revealed as Chibok girls

I admonish to take records and read speeches made by women rescued in the quest to finding the girl and securing the north east. Confessional statement help to give feedback to Nigeria and also as an indicator for follow up by the troops.

Stop been myopic and spewing gibberrish because you want to mislead the gullible one.

I reiterate follow up event on PMB speeches on this BH matter and know that it follows sequence.

Imperatively peace is what we clamour for and we are getting there.

I dont give a f****k if PMB is Bokoharamic but getting the job done on insurgents is what matters and the journey so far.

Wake and be Guided!!!

You voted against Buhari but you are now the one telling him what to do. Buhari promised to fight corruption and corruption he fights. Baba go slow and steady has refused to allow loosers, the guilty and detractors to stampede him.
The EFCC will surely investigate the Petition against Amaechi based on merit. You never called on Jonathan to pursue whatever petition against Tinubu but here you are trying to cause disaffection among people that jointly free our country from saboteurs. God uses Tinubu and Amaechi to make Buhari president and He will continue to use them to better everybody's lot.
Una go tire!

Tell them. Barcanista just dey restless ever since Baba won. Sometimes he is as confused as his ally Metuh. They have got more work to do.

If he starts his probe from the last, it is pure ethno-religious witch hunt. More than witchcraft.

From that OBJ military regime up to OBJ last civilian administration, there was no administration in Nigeria that was not accused of stealing huge sums of money from the country's coffers.

Politics / Farouk Kperogi:boko Haram, alex Badeh, Jonathan And The Stolen Trillions by DrDee1(m): 10:07pm On Aug 08, 2015
Saturday, August 8, 2015 Farooq A. Kperogi at 12:00 AM Boko Haram, Alex Badeh, Jonathan and the Stolen Trillions By Farooq A. Kperogi, Ph.D. Twitter: @farooqkperogi I thought I had become inured to the scandal of brazen corruption in Nigeria until I watched the interview former Chief of Defense Staff Alex Badeh granted to Channels TV on August 1. It’s the worst form of self-indictment I’ve ever seen in my life. Badeh told Channels TV that the last time the Nigerian military bought equipment was 9 years ago, that is, in the twilight of Obasanjo’s second term. “If I go down memory lane, I think the last time any piece of equipment was bought for the Nigerian army was some APCs that were bought in 2006, and how many were they? They were few,” he said , pointing out that the Nigerian military flies “the oldest fighter aeroplanes in the whole world.” The Alpha jets that form the backbone of the military onslaught on Boko Haram, Badeh told Channels TV, were bought in 1981. If Badeh is right (and I have no reason to think he is wrong since he was Nigeria’s most senior military officer until his sack) that basically means that, from Musa Yar’adua’s administration when the Boko Haram menace started, to the end of the Jonathan presidency when it reached a crescendo, not a single piece of equipment was purchased for the Nigerian military. The military depended on obsolete equipment at best and no equipment at all at worst to fight a determined and sophisticated Boko Haram. If I didn’t hear this directly from Badeh himself, I would have dismissed it as some wacky conspiracy theory. But it isn’t the revelation by itself that is scandalous; it is the fact that the neglect of the military is coterminous with the extravagant ballooning of the Nigerian military’s budget. In 2010, for instance, government budgeted N836,016,773,836 (which translates to $5.07 billion at 165 naira to a dollar) for the military. In 2011 the amount ballooned to N1,080,894,801,178 ($6.55 billion). In 2012 it increased to N1,154,857,159,110.00 ($6.99 billion). It increased even more in 2013 to N1,178,832,576,309 ($7.14 billion). Last year, it was scaled down a bit to N1,174,897,477,334.00 ($7.12 billion). That’s trillions of naira gone down the begrimed pockets of corrupt government officials in the name of fighting Boko Haram! My head spun as I looked at the figures. Now, Badeh says in spite of these trillions that the Jonathan government budgeted for the military, “the last time any piece of equipment was bought for the Nigerian army was … in 2006!” So what happened to the trillions of naira? Every Nigerian should be asking this until we get an answer. After a whopping $32.88 billion in military budget to fight Boko Haram in the last five years, we don’t have a single piece of military equipment to show for it. This simply boggles the mind. It’s beyond scandalous; it’s unacceptably and insanely criminal. In spite of all that money, hundreds of thousands of our compatriots in northeastern Nigeria have been murdered—and are still being murdered daily— by Boko Haram, and thousands more are internally displaced and writhe in unspeakable hardship. Lives have been disrupted, businesses have collapsed, and thousands have lost even the will to live. Yet one of the men who superintended over the criminal enterprise that was military budget goes on TV, without a tinge of moral compunction, to gloat about the incompetence of the government he was a part of. I am angry, very angry. This sort of criminal impunity should never go unpunished. We are talking here about the twin evils of unconscionably mindboggling theft and of the heartrending destruction of the life of an entire region of the country. I know President Buhari is aware of the scale and depth of the criminality that characterized the military budgets in the last 6 or so years, but we should still prod him to not only recover the stolen trillions but bring to justice the criminals who masterminded this astonishingly conscienceless heist. This is all the more unpardonable because from Badeh to former President Jonathan, and all the minions in between, the fact of the Nigerian military’s unpreparedness, which was all too obvious to even a perfunctory observer, was intensely denied. Military officers were court-martialed and sentenced to death for refusing to fight Boko Haram with bare hands. In other words, they were condemned to death for refusing to commit suicide. Fighting a well-armed enemy with bare hands is suicide. Pure and simple. But, in press conferences, Alex Badeh passionately defended the death sentence passed on soldiers who mutinied and ran for their lives. Now he admits that the military he headed had no equipment to fight Boko Haram. Former President Jonathan also once threatened to withdraw soldiers from Borno State when the state’s governor said Boko Haram was better armed and more motivated than the Nigerian military—a fact Badeh has now admitted. During a February 25, 2014 presidential media chat, Jonathan said, “The statement is a little bit unfortunate because you don’t expect a governor to make that kind of statement and if the governor of Borno State feels that the Nigerian Armed Forces are not useful, he should tell Nigerians. I will pull them out for one month; whether he will stay in that his Government House; just one month, but I will fly back to take over the state.” When you add all this to the recent revelation by SaharaReporters of a N1,751,864,867 ($8,853,600) fraud in the Office of the National Security Adviser over purchase of arms and ammunition to fight Boko Haram, which never made it to Nigeria, all lingering doubts that the Jonathan presidency was a massive criminal enterprise are removed. I don’t know what would have become of Nigeria had Jonathan won another term. Share

He and the PDP wants victims to wallow in anticipation which will end up in fulities before the election, just because he wants sympathetic votes for the PDP. Sentimental and political disbursement will be the order of the day. Greed even believes in CHANGE. We will vote for the peoples GENERAL after which we will come for the monies. News

By Soni Daniel

Still struggling to come to terms with the reality of the defeat of their candidate by Governor Rotimi Amaechi, aggrieved governors yesterday distanced themselves from his victory, claiming that he ceased to be their leader on Friday when his tenure ended.

The splinter NGF, led by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, presented Governor Jonah Jang as the new Chairman of the NGF.

They also announced plans to set up a different secretariat for their meetings so as to disconnect from the Rivers State Governor’s Lodge, which had been serving as their meeting point in the past two years.

Eighteen governors, who are sympathetic to President Jonathan and his anointed candidate, Jang, converged on the Benue State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro and tried to discredit the electoral process that threw up Amaechi.
The governors who are opposed to Amaechi’s victory are: Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Jonah Jang of Plateau, Idris Wada of Kogi, Gabriel Suswam of Benue, Sullevan Chime of Enugu, Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, Theodore Orji of Abia, Peter Obi of Anambra and Isa Yuguda of Bauchi.

others are: Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina, Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna, Garba Umar of Taraba,  Ahmed Abdulfatah of Kwara, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, Liyel Imoke of Cross River, Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa and Gombe Deputy Governor, Thaanod Rubainu.

The governors, who met behind closed doors for about two hours, later issued a communique, saying that they stood by the endorsement of 19 governors, who had earlier pledged their support for the candidature of the consensus candidate to be chosen by them and not Amaechi.

Governor Mimiko, who described himself as the Vice Chairman of the Jang-led NGF, read the six-paragraph communique issued and jointly endorsed by the faction.

“The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, under the new leadership of Governor Jonah Jang, as Chairman and Governor Olusegun Mimiko as the Vice Chairman, at the inaugural meeting held today, Saturday, May 25, 2013, resolved as follows:
“The new chairman of the NGF thanks Northern Governors’ Forum, the PDP Governors’ Forum and all the governors for the support and confidence reposed in him and vowed to work for the interest of the forum and country.
“The chairman of the NGF Governor Jonah Jang vows to unite members of the forum, work for the interest of the forum and the country.

“The forum re-states its commitment to continue being a platform for peer review, productive and collaborative engagement with all levels of government.
“The forum also resolves to continue to encourage and collaborate with Mr. President to restore peace and security in the country
Nairaland / General / MTN Overcharge And unauthourised Deductions From Customers Account by DrDee1(m): 7:13am On May 21, 2013
I noticed that MTN have been charging high tariffs on calls since sunday even when Y̶̲̥̅̊o̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊ call a family and friend number that attract lower tariff, apart from that my account was cleared to zero balance for two consecutive days that I could notice. One of my friend on mtn zone call also got more than two hundred naira deducted for a four minute call, MTN that's incredible.
I had to call this morning to confirm activities on my account and also confirm the illegal deduction which was confirmed to be true however with promise from the customer service officer for refunds. I also asked him to be a whistle blower for customers on this course.
MTN please wake up and be guided, Y̶̲̥̅̊o̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊ can't be taking millions from Nigerians for services not rendered, there are better way to making money with your recently unfavourable provisions.

Unknown Member: The federal government would have to do more than just dredging the ports of other states to decongest lagos.

Until the Government delibrately starts diverting vessels to other ports, many importers would never use them. During my service days at NIMASA, I was told about a time when the F.G forcefully diverted a number of vessels into Calabar ports, my boss then said that importers were very unhappy. That Cars and other items that were imported were being sold off for next to nothing. that most of the importers had there bases in Lagos and other such neighbouring states and didnt want to be bothered with the logistics of transporting their goods from Calabar to Lagos so they quickly sold them off at dirt cheap prices (prolly to recover as much as they could). I learnt that ever since that occurence, it has never repeated itself again. Prolly, the importers don go block am.

Anyways, I think the government would have to find a way to handle this situation, otherwise, we just spent money to Dredge Calabar ports for Dangotes vessels.
