Politics / Re: Your Son, Ngige Would Have Been In Saraki's Position - Presidency Blames Igbos by dremide: 2:15pm On Nov 18, 2017
What would the position have done for the south east?
qauote author=Darachi post=62488727]Saraki emerged as the senate president againest the wishes of APC.Ngige is in political wilderness in the South East. Why did the APC govt refuse to reward Ogbonnaya Onu for political loyalty by appointing him Sec to the govt of the Federation?Enough of lies and propaganda.Buhari is our president and he has four years to either impress NDIGBO for their votes or face the same 2015 scenario in the 2019 election.Igbos may not be good politicians but we are direct to the point when we take a stand...This APC govt is an embarrasment to Nigeria。To make matters worse, the only APC governor in the South East is owing salaries, engaging in political tomfoolery and erecting statues. You will not decieve anybody again.Show us some tangible project please.[/quote]

Here you go - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Due_process

The only thing demonstrated by all of the vocal support on here for Buhari's actions is that many Nigerians have absolutely no understanding of the legal and constitutional norms that underpin free and orderly societies. I guess that shouldn't be surprising in a country where people are routinely burned alive for "theft" by lynch mobs.
Guy what is the due process by Nigerian law when you want to deal with a judge that has been found to be corrupt or has received bribe? I didn't ask you to define due process for me.
Politics / Re: Is It Illegal For The DSS To Arrest Judges? by dremide: 5:25pm On Oct 08, 2016
Maduawuchukwu:
First and foremost, the DSS does not have the power to arrest based on charges of corruption; it is the job of the EFCC.
Secondly, whenever a Judge is accused of corruption, for the sake of the seperation of powers it is the duty of the NJC to investigate and if found erring sanction them as it was recently done.
From what we have seen which is a first in our nations democracy, this is a tactics to cripple judges not on the side of the ruling party and this is bad for democracy.
I won't accept your explanation yet until you prove this is actually your field but what if the NJC is corruot?

Politics / Re: 2019: Why The Yorubas Wont Support An Igbo Presidential Candidate by dremide: 12:38pm On Sep 27, 2016
Please present a good candidate and am sure Yorubas will support. But being good is not enough, it's just a fraction of the whole thing, being electable and attractive to the electorate goes a long way but it's not even a four year exercise, you must have built up a reputation over a period of time.. Lastly, you seem to think this thing is by turn by turn, which is a wrong notion, you can't say because it's your turn you will now present a candidate that is not qualified and not attractive to other tribes.

Politics / Re: FG Sets To Award Lagos-ibadan Railway Projects, Others by dremide: 11:16am On Aug 31, 2016
Grundig:
Of what use and importance are these routes to Nigeria? Isn't it common sense that Lagos - abuja route should be chief in the plans?

Just imagine? Lagos-ibadan, PH-calabar, kano-kaduna?
Lagos-abuja is not being mentioned.

Lagos-ibadan is the busiest highway in Nigeria and its just about over 100 km, lagos- abuja is over 700km so it makes sense to start from what you can finish with what you have.

Properties / Re: Lawyer condemns new Lagos law legalising ‘foundation fee’ by dremide: 8:03am On Aug 26, 2016
sobmos:
Look at it from another angle... It's a welcome development, legalizing the so called "foundation fee" is an act devised by the Lagos state government to curb the incessant troubles by the land grabbers (omo onile)... Once you pay your foundation fee that's the end of the story, if after paying your foundation fee and you're still troubled by the omo oniles, that makes it illegal, and you can sue them in court.... If you live in ikorodu you'll understand what I'm saying, the omo oniles are the general overlords in ikorodu, after paying for a piece of land , the omo onile can collect it back and there's nothing you can do about it. People should look at this new law from a different angle, you'll find that it's the lasting solution to this so called omo onile brouhaha.
Bro i disagree with you, there is nothing stopping the government from stipulating that it should be one payment, imagine that you pay once and for all for your land, even if there is hidden charges uncluded.. This new law simply means you can buy a land for 10m and they will still come back to say foundation is 20m, that means the land is 30m. The land should have been advertised for 30m initially and the sharing of the money is left to the land owners
This new law will bring more anarchy and it does not protect investors.

You kids are too young to know that politics is like a tide,it comes your way today and away in another dispensation. I remember when yorubas were out and they formwd various forms of pressure groups against the govt. Infact they lost out so much that by the time the nation returned to democracy in 1999,the whole nation agreed that they should be compensated with the taste of power. Nobody wrote against them nor made a jest of them.
For once, they click and they now sit to judge others. Na wah oo
Yorubas never worked against the progress of Nigeria, yorubas only fought the military and their misrule, yorubas have always been in opposition but they will not because of that now sabotage Nigeria. Inspite of yorubas being in opposition, they know how to sesperate politics from National development that's why the Southwest is the most developed even with the fact that they have always been in opposition, sense pass power!!!

An investor ultimately wants returns on his invedtment, if he sees your area as investment friendly, he weighs the security and sees it's what he can cope with, the locals are not aggressive and ready to work, the return on investment is ok, you guys will not need to come crying on nairalaand over what you actually used you hands and actions to spoil!!!

Which part of the SE is insecure, you illiterate. Where have you seen them destroying pipelines like we see in ogun state.?
The project was shelved for a reason probably because they had better sites for a seaport.
Hide your bigotry under insecurity. Buhari would only be there for 4-8 years.
so you want seaport in south east? How? Even if it's possible, will you force foreign investors to do it when they don't feel like? Put your house in order and investors will come.

The mistake SE/SS keeps making is that sense pass power, you cant remain violent and support violence and expect the average bussiness man to bring money to your locality, you can't hate me as a yoruba man to bring my bussiness to your backyard when i know you hate me and you are even gracious enough not to hide it..development comes naturally when there is peace and order in a society, that's what the yorubas have been doing...

My friend, shut the fucck up. You think the international community is bigoted? Petty crimes is what makes somewhere unsafe? Do you know how much is being swindled from people trying to buy land and properties everyday in the SW? What of your omo-oniles, and state govts empowered agberos and rival cult groups.?
The SE is the most peaceful in the country and very industrious to boot. Your presidents unfortunately have failed to leverage on that.
And when did you start selling land to non indegenes in your area?

Really? So the reason why a progressive govt that wants to succeed would ignore better investment opportunities in other parts of the country because the people there don't like him. shocked
Very good. Nigeria's subsequents presidents would not always be supported by everybody. But this politics of winner takes all would never be forgotten.
I am sure it is just beginning. I am hopeful though that the niger-delta would begin to leverage on its strength and decide and remove presidents.
This project was not decided by buhari, it's been a long time coming(2008) moreover, it's not a wholey federal govt project, no sane bossiness man will take his investments to unsecured areas,, it's not rocket science, you can't force me to spend my money where i don't wanna! Deal with your insecurities first, learn from the south west, all struggles does not have to have element of violence!

What about approving new deep seaport for some of the coastal states like Delta, Rivers,Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom,Calabar) so that traders cost of clearance and transportation from lagos to the south-east south-south and surrounding states can be reduced and those states can have more internally generated revenue like Lagos?

Or better still the FG should approve the refurbishment of all the abandoned seaports or the key ones. I sure the loots that have been recovered can foot the bill for at least one.

Traders are crying about the high cost of customs clearance leaving them no choice but to increase the price of their wares. Honestly it makes no economic sense that a country as big as Nigeria have all their active seaports located in one small state, for God sake these are the things that these so called elected Rep members and senators should be discussing in their respective meetings rather than just looking to line their own pockets and padding budgets.

Rotimi Amaechi as the transport minister and who should be representing the interests of the Mid-West, south east and south-south and their surrounding states seems to be blind to the importance of diversifying the seaports in Nigeria. No problem sha, when he finishes with APC he will return to his people who will then question him what he has achieved in terms of multi-million dollar infrastructure. He bashed and rebashed Jonathan continuously over his lack of development , now that he is in the main hot seat of developing infrastructure what is he doing!!!!

deal with militancy and insecurity first in that region and all other things will follow.

Olu Falae was kidnapped and nothing happened

"we will deal with hausa-fulani if they enter Lagos"...
Some hausa traders caused commotion at Mile 12 market and they started calling Ambode.

"we will deal with Igbos/Ipods touts if they disturb our peace in Lagos"...
Some Igbo traders clashed with some yoloba touts at Ladipo market and nuffing happened

Wizkid: "I go beat Linda Ikeji" Linda carry my guy go police station; my guy show sharparly begin beg Linda.

Even when Abiola's election victory was annulled back in the days in1994...they were just mopping

SW are used to chest beating since 19B4AWOLOWO...they can only fight here on NL watch as they will attack an inanimate stuff like my post afterwards and will run away when they see me face to face...
I hope you know the meaning of this saying "sense pass power"?

Politics / Re: The Myth Of Yoruba Unity. by dremide: 7:45pm On May 08, 2016
Which tribe has unity helped in nigeria? The more disunited yorubas are, the more progress they achieve.
VulgarVulvas:
Are the Yorubas united as they oft claim?

1. If they are as united as they often claim, how come, Ilorin (formerly of Oyo empire and of Yoruba inhabitants) is now fully under the Sokoto Caliphate?

2. How about the intercine civil war in Yoruba land that lastedfor 16yrs which only ended after the Yorubas agreed to British colonialism?

3. How about Yoruba political unity? Is there such a thing? How come Akintola defected to the the default Northern People's Congress and the election violence that swept the entire western region pitching Akintola vs Awolowo? The so-called operation wetti?

4. The legacy of Yoruba political disunity still exists till this day with the SW recording the highest incidence of election violence and killings so much so that the region was nicknamed the "wild west".

5. If Yoruba unity exists then why does Ondo and Kwara voting patterns always differ from the rest of the region?

Simple questions requiring simple answers.

Thanks.
