38-year-old Thai man is recovering from a bloody encounter with a 3-meter (10-foot) python that slithered through the plumbing of his Chachoengsao provine, east of Bangkok home and latched its jaws onto his genitals while he was using a squat toilet. Attaporn Boonmakchuay is pictured smiling as Thai television stations interviewed him in his hospital bed but photos of his blood-splattered bathroom were testimony to his ordeals. He told Thai TV Channel 7 that he struggled to remove the snake for 30 minutes Wednesday before he managed to free himself with help from his wife and a neighbour. After his wife tied a rope around the snake, Attaporn pried open its jaws before passing out. Emergency workers dismantled the Asian-style squat toilet, with the python still twined through it. The snake was taken away to be released back into the wild. According to an emergency responder cited by the newspaper Thai Rath, doctors said Attaporn, bloodied but unbowed, will recover. "He has a really good attitude... even though his own wife and children were in shock. He's been smiling and giving interviews all day from his bed," hospital director Dr. Chutima Pincharoen said.

Faced with huge teeth and gaping jaws, one tortoise played it smart and retreated into the sanctuary of its armour-like shell as hungry crocs fought over it. Its tactic wasn't the smartest after all as one croc battled the others away and swallowed the tortoise whole. The images were taken by part time photographer Lisl Moolman, 42, at South Africa's Krueger National Park while on a family holiday. She said: 'I was sitting at the dam, sightseeing and watching animals as they came to drink. As is the norm, crocodiles sunbathe at this dam. Everything was quiet and tranquil, until another visitor attracted my attention showing me that a crocodile just caught a leopard tortoise and was moving into the water at great speed. She added: 'I saw a crocodile at the water's edge moving into the water with high speed, a leopard tortoise clamped tightly between its jaws. The tortoise shell is notoriously quite hard to break. It kept the tortoise in its jaws, while some more crocodiles gathered around it. It wasn't long before they started fighting over it, and the tortoise disappeared into the depths of the water after being dropped. 'After a couple of minutes, it drifted to the surface, where a crocodile guarded it until swimming away after about half an hour.' The croc may find that shell hard to stomach.

Nigerian-born Chidiebere Akusobi has notched many impressive academic achievements in his short life. The 25-year old studied ecology and evolutionary biology as an undergraduate at Yale, then earned his master's in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. Now he's three years into a joint PhD/MD program researching cures for infectious diseases at Harvard and MIT. But if you ask him, he'll tell you that the biggest academic hurdle he ever had to overcome was in the fifth grade. That's when Akusobi, who had moved from Nigeria to the impoverished New York City neighborhood of the South Bronx when he was two years old, was accepted into the rigorous New York City Prep for Prep program. The program is an educational boot camp that selects roughly 225 promising students a year from the poorest New York City neighborhoods and grooms them for scholarships to attend the city's top private schools. For 14 months, students were assigned six hours of homework a day -- on top of their normal workload -- and they were expected to read one book a week, he said. "I remember July 4th, 2001, everyone was outside and there were fireworks. I was inside and my mom was keeping me awake as I read," he said. But Akusobi was determined to complete the program. "I was taught that [education] was our shot of the American Dream," he said When he was done, he had won a full academic scholarship to Horace Mann, one of the most prestigious prep schools in New York City. Once Akusobi enrolled, finding his place in the school's rarefied halls became his next big challenge. He was only 12 and the stark contrast between he and the other mostly white, wealthy students was striking. "I realized that there are people that go on vacations every summer or have summer houses or drivers," he said. "It's funny to go to a school where kids have trust funds and then to take the bus home to the South Bronx." At the time, Akusobi's father was working three jobs while also studying to become a nurse. His mother, who was also pursuing a nursing degree, worked as a home health aide. "They were working to support me and my three younger siblings. That's the reason they left Nigeria, to provide a better life," he said. Akusobi took full advantage of what Horace Mann had to offer. He became head of the dance team and even wrote and acted in a one act show. "I just took advantage of all the opportunities that I could and did well enough that I got into Yale," he said. But his true passion was medicine. Even though he had left Nigeria at a young age, Akusobi remained close to family members who still live in the country. "When I go to Nigeria there's a sense of being home because that's where my folks grew up," he said. But the attachments have come with heartache each time he receives news of a family member or friend who has passed away from an infectious disease, like malaria or HIV. "It's shocking the toll that infectious diseases have. I could work on fixing that. There's real impact that has to be made," he said. And Akusobi is getting closer to that goal. Recently, he was granted one of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, which will pay up to $90,000 for his joint PhD/MD program at Harvard and MIT. Besides his research at Harvard/MIT, Akusobi has advocated on a variety of issues, especially those dealing with racial equality and diversity in medicine. He helped organize the WhiteCoat4BlackLives movement on Harvard Medical School's campus to commemorate Eric Garner and Michael Brown, two black men whose deaths at the hands of the police spurred a national movement against police brutality and highlighted the issue of racism in America. He has also taken a leadership role at the Student National Medical Association, which seeks to help get more minorities like Akusobi involved in the practice of medicine. "From what I've seen there are so many students that have potential," he said. "But there is systemic injustice and institutionalized racism that doesn't allow people to get to where they need to be." While he believes in the American Dream, Akusobi says he realizes it isn't a reality for many people, especially those who didn't get the opportunities he did."The American Dream for a lot of people is a fantasy. I have experienced sub par schools with sub par teachers," he said. "An elementary school student attending those schools and living in a neighborhood without quality food or after-school opportunities and surrounded by people in that situation. For a kid in that situation it's easy to see how they might feel like the American Dream doesn't exist."

Below is how MediaTakeOut.com is reporting it MTO just received word that a Kanye West sex tape is about to drop. The video, which was purportedly taken in 2012, shows Kanye having relations with a very well built African-American woman. She appears to be some type of “video model.” MediaTakeOut.com saw a screener of the sex tape, and we have to say – it is by far the best celebrity sex tape that we’ve ever seen. The video was LEAGUES better that Kanye’s wife Kim’s. What made it so much better? It was Kanye – dude has got SKILLS. In the tape (which was taken from the side of the bed), Kanye is seen PUTTING HIS BACK into every stroke. Dude was looking like an adult film star. And the woman, who was VERY well built, seemed to be really enjoying it. We should point out that his video was taken more than TWO years BEFORE Kanye was married to Kim. The two weren’t even dating at this time. Obviously we can’t leak any of the screenshots or the footage, but from what we understand, it will be leaked before the end of the day.

A woman was bitten by a 2-foot-long nurse shark in Florida which attached itself to her forearm even when it was killed. Though the shark was killed, it remained attached and couldn't be removed from her forearm. She was later taken to the hospital where it was successfully detached and her friends shared a picture on Facebook which shows her smiling from her hospital bed as she held the dead shark in a bag. She has also been released from the hospital.

Ciara got shot down in a big way in custody court Monday ... TMZ has learned. Sources connected to the former couple say Ciara showed up in court asking for sole custody of their 1-year-old son, baby Future. She claimed Future was a bad parent who was not present in the child's life. We're told she and her lawyer also trash talked Future to the judge, saying he was a bad person. For his part, Future showed up and asked for joint custody, and the judge was squarely on his side, rejecting her arguments. California courts favor joint custody, so the decision was in line with the law. We got Ciara leaving court, and she was mum.

My body fought the toughest of battles to get five babies here safely," Mrs Tucci wrote when she posted the photos. "Everything I did I did for them." In an interview with Australian current affairs program 60 Minutes in April, Mrs Tucci said she felt like her body was "shutting down" during the pregnancy and that doctors originally offered her the choice of saving two of the babies while terminating the others, due to serious health risks to both her and the unborn children . "No-one thought I could do it, and I did, I showed everyone in my life," Mrs Tucci told 60 Minutes. She and her husband Vaughn already have a nine-year- old son and daughters aged two and four.
