You need the code to complete the registration.
I started the registration, then generated the code, and used it to complete it.

Good evening all.
I finally collected my stamped passport.

Application submitted: March 22, 2023
Biometric request: March 23, 2023
Biometric done: March 24, 2023
BVL: June 28, 2023
PPR: July 5, 2023
Passport submission to UPS: Thur July 6, 2023
PP received by VFS Lagos: Mon July 10, 2023
PP dispatched from Lagos: Mon July 10, 2023
PP received by CVAC Abuja OC and to be sent to CVAC Abuja OC: Tue July 11, 2023

I was confused at this point πŸ˜• 🫀 because why are you receiving and saying you will send to yourself again then I just assumed they made a mistake in the message. It was not a mistake 😒 😭 πŸ˜ͺ
Within this period, I checked the application tracker, saw visa number even though my background check was in progress.

PP received by CVAC Abuja OC and in transit to IRCC office Abuja OC: Thur July 13, 2023

I started becoming jittery at this point because of my other upcoming trip. Plus the people that submitted same day with me and a day after me had gotten msgs that their PP had left IRCC after stamping. Checked my status and it was still saying background check in progressπŸ™„

PP received by IRCC: Thur July 20, 2023

So PP was in transit within Abuja for 1 whole week. The PP must have been tired of trekking πŸ˜”

PP received by CVAC Abuja CVO: Mon July 24, 2023

I checked my status on the portal and the application tracker. Application tracker was still saying 'in progress' because background check was in progress. Portal was updated to background completed, but no info on passport being stamped.

I decided to chat VFS on Wed morning July 26. Chatted with Chiamaka, she confirmed that PP was in transit to Lagos VFS. I kept stressing how urgent it was because of my planned trip and it was already almost 3 weeks after submission. I was practically pleading that I can pick it up from anywhere... she insisted I will pick it up in lagos VFS office. 2 mins after our chat, collection mail in Lagos dropped πŸ’ƒ πŸ’ƒ πŸ’ƒ
VFS passport tracker was still showing 'in transit' till I collected the passport.

I just checked the application tracker now (fri 28 July), and the status says 'closed'. It was updated July 26, the day lagos collection mail dropped.
The portal overall status still says 'submitted'.

Other info:
I used the new link for application.
I had US visa.
I applied as a tourist.

DrPrincess:
Has anyone had this situation in which you received PPR, but background verification is still in progress. You submitted passport, but background verification still progress...

Thank you.

chat with vfs and tell them you need your passport back as this stamping is taking too long and you have another trip.

How to chat with vfs? Google: Vfs chat.

Also, has anyone requested back your unstamped passport from IRCC? What was your experience? How did you go about it? How long did it take to receive it?
Any ideas are welcome please.
If this has been posted here before, kindly refer me please.

I have an upcoming trip, and I want to collect my passport and re-submit after the trip.

Has anyone had this situation in which you received PPR, but background verification is still in progress. You submitted passport, but background verification still progress.

I received PPR on the 5th of July, and Lagos VFS acknowledged passport receipt on Monday 10th which is like 2 weeks ago. It is still with IRCC and the status on the application tracker still shows 'in progress'.
I'm just wandering the reason for delay in passport stamping. Could this background verification be the reason? But why would they request PPR when background verification is not yet completed.
I have an upcoming trip to another country and I need this passport back.

Did you pay courier return fee to VFS to deliver your passport to your lagos address?
Since you sent it directly to Abuja office, they won't send it to Lagos office.
FatherFigure:
Got a mail that passport has been returned to Abuja VAC. Any idea when i can expect them to courier it to Lagos. Completed consent form when I was dispatching to Abuja.
Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by DrPrincess: 4:32pm On Jul 21, 2023
How did you resolve this?
srke2022:
The most unbelievable thing happened today, I sent my passport together with my sons passport to the vac and they returned my passport without a visa. What kind of work is the IRCC doing ? I am just in shock! Now i have to engage with them all over again, i am so tireeeeeeed of them!

To create your profile with WES, use your new names.
While filling the details about your degree on the WES site, you will see a part where you will fill your previous name as it appears on the degree certificate/credentials (that is the only place you will fill your old name)

dayemola:

Dear all,
Glad to be here,
please I need help on which surname to use for WES evaluation. My passport surname is different from my credentials surname as am now married. Please I need help so that I can go ahead with the Evaluation.

Greetings House,

I am trying to book my flight for my second missionary trip to Houston. In my scout for tickets, reading through the health and travel section of the emirates airline it is saying one cant travel after the beginning of the 33rd week and I need to travel at 36 weeks. For people that have used emirates airlines (@DrPrincess) is this possible or do I have to look for another airline?

https://www.emirates.com/ng/english/before-you-fly/health/medical-information-for-fitness/
Yh they have 2 conflicting info on their site. The second says they fly singleton pregnancy up to 36th week. That's the one they really follow. So u can fly them up until u r 35w+6days(with only ur doctor's fit to fly), bt once u hit 36w (for a single baby preggy), u'l have to fill their medif n get approval from them a few days b4 u fly.
Delta does not have restrictions on flying pregnant women. I flew them last time at 36weeks.

My POE experience - long post alert
I came in through Houston using Emirates. I travelled at 35 weeks n showed them my fit to fly in Lagos during check-in, also showed d air hostess on d plane cos they requested to see it. I travelled with my active toddler, n I guess I 'survived' the trip, lol. Used airport stroller up to a point during d connection at dubai.
One head hostess came to meet myself n another preggy during d flight from dubai to houston, n started telling us that we shld have in mind that they usually send pregnant women back, that she had had to return with some of the preg women in d recent past, bla bla bla (preparing ur mind for the worst something), lol, I told her I wasn't returning with her as I had all d necessary document.
At houston, the queue was not so long and I fortunately got sent to a guy/man that was just opening his booth so I was d first person to meet him.
Man: which country's citizen are you (after I drop passports with him)
Me: i'm Nigerian n my baby is American
Man: what are you here for
Me: to birth my second baby
Man: how did u pay for previous birth (referring to my first baby)
Me: I paid with cash
Man: so u ddnt use medicaid
Me: not at all
Man: do u have d receipts
Me: yes (n brot out all receipts)
Man: (checks through) are u staying with family
Me: no, i'm using a concierge coy that provide accommodation n other services to pregnant women
Man: where does ur hubby work
Me: told him n explained what he does, also mentioned that he will be coming to join us later, n then my baby was just saying 'daddy daddy'
Man: asked me abt d food I brot (cos I ddnt tick d veg part as I was nt so sure what to pick cos I had veg but it was dried). He asked me abt the flavor of Maggi I brot, told him I cldnt rem bt it's not chicken flavor. He sha wrote 'A' on my form n said he will send me to agric to be sure
He then goes ahead to advice me that immigration is becoming stricter n I shld make sure I don't take any medicaid or allow anyone to take on our behalf if not I won't be getting any access to the country again cos I might be banned.
I said OK. He then calls his colleague to take us to Agric.
Stayed a while in Agric cos some1 had to get our bags n he took a long time to locate it. The bags were scanned n d one with the food item was opened n checked but nothing was seized. They kept asking for indomie, lol, mayb cos of my baby, dunno, but I ddnt take indomie along. That's how I ws told to go n d guy that got our bags helped me wheel the luggage all the way out.
Just as I was getting picked up I checked my passport n discovered that it wasn't stamped. Oh no. I have to go n check that website to see that this entry record exists.
Thank God all went well. Now waiting for baby.

Hi everyone,
A question pls (i'l probably still go back n search for d ans later, but would mightily appreciate anyone with a quick ans).
How many days to flight date is the fit to fly for Emirates valid? Is a week OK?
I did a quick check on their site but ddnt see the validity period

Thanks a lot. Your answers were really helpful. I'm also flying Emirates with my 2yr old toddler. I'm praying the journey will be a stressless one.

Usually all providers provide a zero balance letter, or some documentation that shows zero at the bottom of the page.

From the tone of the form, the MEDIF is primarily for people with serious illnesses, I sent it to them just to be sure but from their response I did not have to. This was EMIRATE's response after I sent MEDIF to them:

Congrats mum
Your zero balance letters were from hosp and doctor only, right?
Why didn't you need medif, did u travel earlier than 35weeks or 32 wks?

anonymousmum:
POE story loaded...

Emirates:

I had send an email to the Emirates office with my info and status of pregnancy, they responded that I did not have to fill the MEDIF form and I was good to go. I shaa printed the emial to take with me before someone will tell me another thing.

At boarding, they asked me for fit to fly, I gave them the sample one on the website I had gotten my Doctor to fill, but they asked for one on a hospital letterhead. I gave it to them and they let me through.

Pleasant hostesses, with plenty gifts for the kiddo, coloring book and pencils for him, a stuffed toy with a blanket in it, cute.

Dubai airport lovely as usual, stroller for kid etc . Connection of 3 hours, pretty short and flew by quickly.

POE:

Me: Good afternoon
POE Officer: Good Afternoon. I can see you are pregnant, you have a kid with a US passport, and you are Nigerian. CanI see your receipts?
Me: *taken aback at how direct he was, showed him all my recepits, I had arranged and labeleld them for each provider (dr, hospital, paed, epirudal etc)*
POE Officer: I dont want receipts, show me all the zero balance letters
Me: Showed him all the zero balance letters
POE Officer: I am convinced. Make sure you come with your receipts everytime you travel to the US, even if you dont have hard copy, ensure you have it in your email. I can see you came prepared. Well done. make sure you do the same for this pregnancy...

Dr D aka Dr D Z. I'm not sure we're allowed to quote their full names here. Google obgyns affiliated to Oakbend. That's how I was able to deduce his full name from his initials used on this forum. I'm a June mum. I paid him via form A last week. He will only release acceptance letter and his bank details after you've paid a non refundable deposit of $200. He will however deduct that from your full bill. I had to get someone in the US to make that deposit for me then i made the balance payment via form A. You can pm me if you need more details.

Good day all, pls is it possible to change the class of visa when renewing via Dropbox? My first visa was for vacation although I later used it for birthing and duly informed the embassy. I'm renewing now and wish to apply for B2,will it stil be possible via Dropbox? Urgent response needed pls. Thanks
All what u mentioned still fall under d same class of visa which is B2. I think it's when u r totally changing d class (e.g from B to F visa) that dropbox won't apply. So go ahead with ur dropbox renewal n choose your B2.
I applied for a B1 visa in 2014, was issued B1/B2, I renewed this year, applied for B2 (medical) thru dropbox and was issued B1/B2.

Hello, ur question/writeup is not really clear. But from d little I understood (ie u won't use d visa until after ur son turns 1, n u wld use it for d purpose it ws issued), nothing stops u from applying for ur son when he's 1yr, u can use ur visa as it wld still b valid. Again were u asked if u were pregnant(or if u wld seek medical attention)? N what ws ur ans? That might determine what future visa intv question u wld b asked.
Like u said, u can't use the visa for birth, bt u can use it for the purpose it was issued after your birth, this shldnt pose a problem. Will u still be a student by then? I ddnt really get the student part, bt just state ur status as it is whenever u renew d visa.

munah123457:
Ok I'm a new member and I have been following this thread. My case goes like this
Myself, dad and younger sister attended US interview on the 8th of March 2017, and we were all granted Visa.

Actually I am 31weeks gone when we went for the interview and I went with my dad and younger sister, and my mum has a valid visa. But my husband didn't apply.

I know if I use the visa to birth, it might create problems for me in the future as my DS160 form states that I am a student, so have zeroed my mind for using it to birth.

I need advice on how I can effectively use my visa without creating any suspicion that will lead to refusal or ban. I've decided that I should apply with my baby after his one year. Then I'm thinking won't the VO start calculating and say I was pregnant while I applied and refuse me or should I travel first b4 I reapply with my baby?

Please urgent and useful reply

Good day house. I've been a silent reader for sometime. In the spirit of giving back, I have come to share my experience so far.
I applied for my visa before I joined nairaland. Luckily I stated my intention, a friend encouraged me to.

... My final destination is Nashville in Tennessee.

...Contacted them via facebook, Nashville is not very popular. The y replied and sent me a number to call for their bill. I called and was sent one via email a day before I travelled on the 28th of March. God answers prayers. So I was armed with my burden of proof...

Congrats n thanks for sharing ur experience so far.

@Justwise,lobus,dere5,Austine2020, Omobendel24..thank you so much for your responses. God bless you all.

@lobus, it's the generic response of insufficient ties oh..

Sorry for d denial, bt I think saying 'I don't know' pisses most VO off. He was given a paper at d denial, which had d reason (though generic), ofcourse I don't think they expect him to know d exact reason since he cldnt have read d VO's mind. Bt a beta ans cld have been 'he ws denied ... yrs ago based on section... which shows that he ddnt have ties home. However, he has been working for these num of years with a business(or include anytin he feels is a tie and emphasize y he needs to return to Nigeria)'. (I replaced I with He).

Going forward, I think d lady can re-apply alone, thinking tru all d tins that cld b a tie for her. She can include these as a statement in d comment part of d form too. Bt if asked y she was denied, shldnt say 'I don't know'. Plan ahead and carry all evidences along. Her husband can try to apply after she has gotten her visa. Good luck to her

*you can use d search button (travel section) on the page to see what has previously been posted on it.

*you don't need to part pay ur medical bills before ur visa intv. It's nt a requirement.
