Thanks a bunch champ.

This is fine to the best of my knowledge.

Establishing a relationship that is subsisting is key for them and as long as you can prove that, then her not taking your surname is not an issue.

Thanks so much.

My name for instance is Sule and my surname is Chidi. Her own name is Bola and her surname is Bisi. So on the certifiacet it was only stated that she got married to Sule Chidi. So all other of her documents still bears Bola Bisi.

Sir good day, have you read the guidelines? Please do and be specific if you have any further questions, quite a number of amazing people here who have helped others in the past and will be able you going forward.

Change of name shouldn't be an issue as long as the name is consistent with the rest of the supporting documents.
What name is on your wedding certificate sir? If it is the same name your wife currently uses at work and is on all of the necessary documents for the purpose of the settlement visa, then there wont be any problem ( to the best of my knowledge and from experience of others )
If the marriage certificate has your surname for her, then she will need to make sure other documents are consistent with that.

Do you understand me?

In quick summary, (happy to elaborate if you are specific) If she has a job, has been working for her employer for a minimum of six months, can provide 6 months of payslips showing a gross earning of or in excess of £9300 (for the six month period), can get a letter confirming her employment from her employer, bank statement showing the six months wages were paid into the account, adequate accommodation documents (tenancy agreement, an utility bill with your partners name on it, if available and a letter from the landlord confirming you can live with her) proof of English Language (English Test Certificate or NARIC certificate confirming your degree was taught in English and it is equivalent to the minimum English Language requirement), TB Certificate to confirm that you are free of the disease and evidence of your relationship (marriage certificate if married, regular communications, photographs at different intervals of your relationship and other anything else to confirm that the relationship is still subsisting) then you are good to go

Best wishes.

Spot on.

to add to the above, if anyone knows a solicitor they can consult or that is prepared answer queries for free then by all means take advantage

A complex immigration history may necessitate the engagement of a solicitor otherwise it is quite straightforward, just read the guidelines, ask questions from people who have enjoyed success or are very familiar with the process and provide the information required.

Good day Champ,

Good day fam,

Am married in Nigeria for close to a year. My wife is applying for a job in the UK as a RN. The only document we have currently as married couple to show we are married is our Court marriage certificate. In her passport she still has her surname written on it.
My question now is, if am applying to join her, are there other document i would need to get as prove that we are married beside our court certificate paper and our pictures?

Please I need help.
