Nigerians are weak and too timid always fleeing.

I pity my country.

Nonsense and Ingridient.

Niger state is few kilometers from Abuja.

Honestly, no sentiment, if Buhari cannot protect Nigerians, cannot see to stable economy, cannot stem this dangerous inflation, then what can he do? It is better he leaves the job by resigning.

Politics / Re: BREAKING : Resolution Of The South East Governors Security Meeting by dvdwed(m): 8:13pm On Apr 25, 2021
This is the problem with leadership in Nigeria.
Analog mentality.
They dont lead. The people lead. On roads, electricity, schools, name it the people are leading while government are always the late comers.

Large ungoverned landmass in the north birthed Terrorist - to govern the place.

Months ago that epa in Imo was met by Anglican leaders he embarassed them by saying that the south east will never have a regional security outfit. Then ESN was non- existent.

Boom, boys gathered and ESN was born now they are talking about one Ebube kini. Late comers as usual.

FG has pushed us all to resort to self help.
Politics / BREAKING : Resolution Of The South East Governors Security Meeting by dvdwed(m): 7:56pm On Apr 25, 2021
The Forum, at the end of its meeting, came up with the following resolutions:

1. South-East Governors and Leaders re-stated the adoption of a common Joint Security outfit called EBUBEAGU with her Regional Headquarters in Enugu.

EBUBEAGU will work with the Police and other security agencies in her operations to protect lives and property in the South-East;

2. We agreed on the structure and operational modalities of EBUBEAGU and to set up an Advisory Board for the security outfit;

3. The Hon. Attorneys General and Commissioners for Justice of the South East States have been directed to work with the Joint Security Committee to come
up with the amendment of the existing State Laws to reflect the new EBUBEAGU outfit;

South-East Governor's security meeting
4. The meeting directed Ohaneze Ndigbo President to immediately form two Committees:

(a) South East Peace and Reconciliation Committee to engage our people for
the peace and security of our people and her visitors;

(b) Strategy and Welfare Committee to engage and protect our people,
especially those who are being unfairly treated.

These Committees must become functional within the next 10 (ten) days from date;

5. The meeting is in support of restructuring, the setting up of State Police and other national issues as discussed in the last NEC meeting.

A Committee has been set up to work out acceptable modalities and submit them to NEC in its next
meeting;

6. The meeting condemns the attacks on the country home of the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma and other State
infrastructure. We sympathize with him and call on the Federal Government to fish out the perpetrators and ensure their prosecution;

7. South East leaders restate their commitments to our State laws banning open grazing in the South East and urge the security agencies and the local vigilantes to enforce the ban in all States of South-East;

8. South-East Governors agreed on the implementation of various END SARS Youth Empowerment Programmes in the South East States as soon as possible.

Politics / Re: Focusing On Our Strength To Build A Better Nigeria by dvdwed(m): 4:36pm On Apr 22, 2021
mrsiso:
Hello Nairalander's

I believe we all owe democracy a chance to grow and by doing so we need a platform for mental revolution. Our ways of doing things have over the years proved to be unconventional and insufficient to get the type of leaders we need.

Here is what I think we can do for a better Nigeria.

Recruit new politicians
This can be done by mobilizing youths to join political parties of their choice

Demonetize the election
Elections are too expensive to run and this alone is a financial drain to suitable candidates whose resources can't go round the 774 LG

Sensitization
INEC and National Orientation Agency owes Nigerians a great apology for not properly educating the citizens on this civic right

Mass voters registration
It is no longer news that INEC is sleeping on this responsibility. With their offices in all local governments in Nigeria, I believe it will make more sense to have a open door for voters registration, voters relocation and card collection even if these would be done once a week or once a month

Intellectual Campaign Guideline
A very important ingredient to grow our democracy is to have a campaign guideline which spells out reality and reduce vote buying. There are somany people that live on money shared during campaign. INEC should enforce a media strategy that help promote all candidates for equal visibility across the country, state or local government as related to the office being contested, mobilize citizens to rally, buy airtime for adverts and let journalist do the rest. Political parties should be allowed to run social media campaign on the candidates owned page and political parties page. This will create a level play ground for all and reduce stress on our security agents who are deployed to different rallies for same place.

There are many more points to add, but will appreciate a major deliberation around this topic

Bro forget Nigeria, we are now way past the restructuring palava. Nija cannot work. Will they leave our oil wells, will they take true federalism, No.
The system is designed to favour them.

Aconomist:
As someone who has lived his whole life in the United States, I can look at Lagos from a different perspective than Nigerians born and bred in the country. In other words, I can see the city the way a foreigner would see it. But unlike a foreigner who will lie to protect your feelings, I will tell you the truth: Conditions in Lagos are so bad that it almost beyond belief. The city is so disorganized and filthy that it makes you question whether its inhabitants are truly human or subhuman beings formed into a crude mockery of mankind.

From the minute you leave the airport (which is vastly inferior to what is seem in far smaller countries like Ghana or Senegal) you enter Ikeja and feel like you are transported into a third world warzone like the Congo, Central African Republic or Somalia. Don't listen to all the excuses Twitter is giving for not locating their headquarters in Lagos. The problem is 100% related to the level of filth and disorganization in the city and the lack of basic amenities like sanitation, transpiration or reasonable urban planning.

The streets are utterly chocked with traffic. And the entire mainland feels like an endless slum. Finally you get to the mainland bridge, and you are stuck there for hours in full view of Makoko, a neighborhood floating in its own feces as urine. You hope the island will be better, but you are disappointed. The traffic intensifies to an almost otherworldly level, and finally you enter the biggest slum -- Marina CMS, a Central Business District filled with open air markets, abandoned skyscrapers and criminals. By now, you have already given up on Lagos and wish to return home.

Solution

The Lagos state government needs to get serious about Eko Atlantic and create incentives for companies to relocate there. Also, what would be so hard about acquiring some of these horrible buildings below and demolishing them to sell the land to private developers? It's 2021. A city of human beings shouldn't look like this.

You just nailed it. A big slum barely fit for humans.

They will have excuse, they are excuse men.

Insecurity - "its a global issue"

Poor economy - " its a global issue" "its caused by covid19"

Inflation - " its the middlemen"

etc.

Buhari failed not because he wished to fail but he lacks the tact and IQ to translate good intentions to economic reality. He chose to put politicians in sensitive positions instead of picking technocrats.
He failed completely. He needs someone to rescue him from the job.
