There are surge arresters but I won't advise it. When there's lightning and thunderstorm just isolate your decoder from the mains and if possible disconnect the cable from the lnb to the decoder.

Good morning house, happy fathers' day.
I am a FTA newbie, I know nothing about it. I contacted a seller to help me with a decoder (I told him I wanted something basic that won't need subscription and all and I won't need to be changing direction of dish here and there cos I no get energy), and then he got me a mediastar mini2727. The thing is, I met him online and ever since I made payment and he sent the package (which he exempted the power cable), he hardly replies my chat or pick my call. He doesn't return my missed call. He picks up when I call persistently, like 5-10 calls at a stretch
Can someone with the review of the decoder and features it is to come with (cos he sent an opened box to me. I didn't have an option to return it cos he doesn't reside in lagos where I stay).

There is a possibility it's your service provider screwing with you. When a particular service provider herebstart its wahala like this, you go think sey na your phone get problem. After ending a call, it will sill display it on your phone for about 30secs, and sometimes the cmtine is still counting, but no audio. Try a different service provider in your phone and see if issue persists

Happy belated birthday. I had similar issue, but mine was writing and listening, and I did IELTS over five times I could not exceed 6.5 and 7.5 in Writing and Listening respectively.One day, I contacted my friend who got 9.0 in his listening and he told me his strategy, which is to move to part four immediately you are told to open to part one, and glance through it marking key words and then part three, two and one, however; this most be done with the speed of light,so that you can meet up before they start giving out answer to part one. With this strategy, you don't just mark key words,it also gives you the ample opportunity to know the types of questions ahead of you. When I applied this strategy in my practice, I moved from the usual 33,34 to 38, and I got 8.5,8,7,7 LRSW when I eventually wrote IELTS.
This is just a suggestion,if you decide to try it make sure you master it before writing IELTS again.

I was not expecting the high scores in speaking (cos I paused and stammered during the last phase of the test) and listening (cos I missed many numbers. I got lost. Apparently, it is my weakest point. I always got lost arnd number 30). But the reading I was confident about nd could bet I will have atleast 8.5 or at worst 8... Na him I get 6.5

It is worth applying for remark or I accept fate and reapply? Someone please advice me

Hello, I did IELTS three times and I can confidently tell you acing it isn't as difficult as most people think.

First, study as many questions as you can. If you can treat 10 years past questions at least twice, you're good to go.
Regarding writing, ensure you know "linking words" very well, use at least 15-20 difficult words in your essay and ensure your essay exceeds the word count, you'll be fine. For speaking, lay your hands on as many materials as you can, go through all the topics and build ideas around them all. Also, memorise as many vocabularies as you can for each topic. For listening and reading, adhere to the first advice.

1st attempt : L 6.5 W 7 R 7.5 S 6.5
2nd attempt, L 8.5 W 6.5 R 8.5 S 7.5
3rd attempt: L 8.5 W 7.5 R 8 S 7.5.

I love the improvement. I 9ray I also improve drastically too and the 3rd attempt will be my last and best so far
1st attempt : L-7.0, R-6.0,W-5.5,S 7.0
2nd attempt : L-7.5, R-6.5, W-7.0, S- 7.5

I used Chris of ielts advantage for my writing. I was expecting atleast 7.5 though. Met someone that got 8.5 in speaking.. She must be a winsh... Asked how she did it, she said she doesn't know o.
