GetMeRight: If the girls are "persons of interest" then they should be detained (not arrested) for interrogation and give statements. They can be informed that they are not allowed to leave city. Arresting means that you have sufficient evidence to believe that a crime was committed. We all know that Nigerian police will arrest first, then ask questions later. Their prime motivation is chopping bail money or blackmailing the girls to sleep with them. 1 Like |

OmoEpe: All your argument are coming from a narrow tribally biased point of view. Therefore you will never get the full point of view and, like all typical Africans who see tribe first, you will never solve your problems, hence the hot mess that whole Nigeria has been in for decades. A country filled with a whole bunch of pompous people with fanciful degrees, strutting around and calling themselves intellectuals. But unable to solve any of the numerous unique problems plaguing black Africa. Your intellectual acumen only active for ethnic things, sex, stealing money and spending money Asking the entire Igbo nation to go through legalisation to achieve ipob or massob agitation is like asking the entire Hausa-fulani nation or Yoruba nation to go through legislation to achieve Boko haram or Yoruba nation agitation. |

OmoEpe: Ethnically charged crap! Typical backward thinking African that cannot make a point without emotional tribal slurs. We are operating 1999 constitution - FACT! If the SE is such an irritant and a drain and drawback to other "intellectually superior" Nigerians, then a simple solution will be to let them go - SIMPLE! All it will take is for bills to be passed in both houses. Didn't we cede Bakassi to Cameroon? Forcing SE to remain in Nigeria because of the fear that SS will leave too, is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. We all know that Nigeria depends 110% on crude oil and loans for foreign exchange so without the SS Nigeria is finished. There is no guarantee that the SS won't start a determined movement to leave Nigeria in the future too. You better go and provide feeding money for your wives kids and stop mindlessly indulging ethnic bile here. Day don break. |

OmoEpe: Brah, as far as I know, Nigeria is operating 1999 constitution of which Nnamdi Azikiwe had no input. It always amuses me when a butt scratching black African assumes such a condescending attitude when addressing a fellow black African, as if they are better off in any way. All peoples have done in Nigeria since independence (including your people) is to position, maneuver, trick, lie, and kill their way into remaining relevant to political power so that they can continue "chopping" national cake. National cake that has been steadily depleting since 1960 up to the point now that there is almost nothing left, nothing to show for it (apart from your billionaire$), and we now pay our national day-to-day bills with borrowed money. In the meantime, poverty eradication? ZERO! Power supply? ZERO! Security? ZERO! Zero's everywhere, in every corner of Nigeria. But hey, all that doesn't matter. All the poverty in everywhere in Nigeria doesn't matter. Woefully substandard public education doesn't matter. Death trap hospitals don't matter, so long as your people are controlling power. Tell me what area of Nigeria you're from and I bet you that 11 out of 10 people in your heartland (yes 11 out of 10) will give their liver to leave this country and you are here twisting reality. |

The truth is, there is problem in the land. The same problem you are complaining about exists up and down Nigeria, albeit in varying degrees. Some regions will pretend that all is ok for political and tribal image reasons. All this IPOb issue is just a distraction from the main issue of hunger and unemployment in Nigeria. You call them lazy youths, but what are they supposed to do? What is the purpose of having a governor? What is the government doing to create employment to engage the youths meaningfully? Not all youths are destined to progress beyond secondary school but there needs to be suitable alternatives for them available. Governors in Nigeria are completely useless. They see themselves as if they are CEO of a personal profitable private company and spend the state money likewise. Vanity project after vanity project so that people will say "he is working". How many of these projects actually create lasting employment opportunities? Billions will be spent on one singular location project. The contractor (mostly foreign) go hammer; state officials go hammer; project engineers (normally from the usual region) go hammer; major suppliers go hammer. But what about the locals and the to youths? They are supposed to be satisfied with the fact that they have such edifice in their town or state? They are supposed be proud that their "governor is working" so that they can boast and share pictures on social media/forums? On empty stomach? 3 Likes |

Peace081: I'm baffled when Nigerians say what you said. "O why always this poverty mentality"? Personally, I don't think Tems dressing was obscene, but you could have addressed what was said without reducing it to money. Everything in this life is not about money the way Nigerians see it. In some countries you can be perfectly happy and content, even more content than millionaires, as an ordinary salaried person. If you are careful with you income and save, you can travel, go clubbing, go restaurants, go bars, movies, picnics, parties, shows, festivals, go on dates etc. In fact, you wouldn't even have enough time for them all. Living a full life and freely going to places - places that celebrities and billionaires cannot freely go to because of their status. It's just stupid and backwards, to address questions or critisms with the statement "they are worth more than your entire family". Only a person from a family with generations of poverty and suffering will feel that they cannot question anything because the other person is richer than them. That is slave mentality that will continue to keep you in poverty and ensure that you pass on the deprivation to the next generation. 10 Likes |

JaskanFactor: You make a lot of points but unfortunately Africans appear to behave 1000 times worse than Neanderthals. Look Nigeria; look at UK or Germany for example. See how they solve their problems? Look at USA. If the Trump scenario was Nigeria, he will still be there till today with a lot of people killed, in jail, under prosecution by various government agencies or in exile. Nigerians live and breathe hatred. |
Politics / Re: Panic Hits Lagos Posh Areas, As Bandits Kidnap 6 In 24 Hrs - Tribune by eastOFwest(m): 10:57am On Oct 02, 2021 |
FreeStuffsNG: It appears some people are more concerned about cheap point scoring or people calling their region names, than reacting to security issues. It's better to overreact than assume a wait and see attitude. You say only 6 people kidnapped, but wouldn't it be foolish to wait for 60 to be kidnapped before reacting? By then it will be too late. Let them raise the alarm even if only 1 person is kidnapped because that is already 1 person too many. Nigerians and useless ego sef. Smh! |
