Hackers at the Evasi0n team say they have jailbroken the Apple iOS 7 operating system just in time for the holidays.

Apple site 9to5Mac writer Seth Weintraub said in a post that he had used the instructions to jailbreak his wife’s iPhone 5s device and so he believes the instructions are correct. Apple doesn’t authorize its users to run jailbroken software, which can run apps other than ones permitted by Apple, on its devices.

The jailbroken device will enable the operating system to install apps outside the official App Store, but it reportedly has trouble working with the Cydia alternative app store.

The post said the jailbreak instructions were compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and iPad Mini models running iOS 7.0. The process was easy and took about five minutes for Weintraub to complete on an iPhone 5s.

The jailbreak advice suggests that users back up their device to iTunes or the iCloud before using the jailbreak software and to disable the lock passcode on their device first. Over the Air updates may cause the jailbreak software to fail. And the Evasio0n team acknowledges that Cydia tweaks “are not yet compatible with iOS 7″ and could cause the iPhone to get stuck in the boot process.

I want to ask this question on who is funding state universities?, and if its the state government then y do they join the federal universities (ASSU chapter) in the on going strike and what do they stand to benefit from it.
cos i believe the federal government are to fund and pay the salaries of the fed universities while state are responsible for theirs.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced indefinite strike nationwide today, national president of ASUU, Dr Nasir Isa Fagge has said.

He made this declaration, Monday, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after their NEC meeting held at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

Speaking to news men, he said: “We are embarking on indefinite strike nation wide because the Federal Government reneged in the Memorandum of Understanding MoU signed with ASUU in 2009 to pay lecturers their earn allowance.”
According to Fagge, the Federal Government, in 2009 made a law to pay each lecturers N12,500 per month as earn allowance which it never did since 2009.

The Lagos State Special Anti-robbery Squad has killed seven suspected kidnappers and arrested two others during a cross fire in Agbara area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
Police alleged that the suspects were behind the kidnap of Lagos politician Kehinde Bamigbetan, Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Police said the arrested suspects are 27-year old Ogbonna Emenike and 25-year old Uchenna Nwanyu. The shootout took place at the weekend.
The items recovered from the suspects include four AK 47 Rifles, twenty-Eight AK 47 Magazine fully loaded and a thousand round of live ammunition. Others are army uniforms, a Honda CRV jeep with Reg No.ABC106AE and a Nissan Pathfinder Reg No.AGL730AZ as well as local charms.
The officer in charge of SARS said: “when I received the information about their hideout in Agbara in Ogun State, I quickly mobilised my men to their camp where they lodged.
“After 72hours of waiting in ambush, I and my squadron team stormed the place where all the kidnappers have gathered around 6.30 a.m. on 24/06/2013.
“As a result of this, seven of the kidnappers were fatally wounded during a heavy gun battle between the kidnappers and my men.
“Two of the kidnappers one Ogbonna Emenike and Uchenna Nnwayu were arrested alive with bullet wound.
“Also an Indian National one Mr. Vivex Changrani who was kidnapped in Ikoyi, at about 12 a.m. was also rescued successfully in the kidnappers’ hideout.”
The Lagos State commissioner of Police Mr. Umar Abubakar Manko warned other kidnappers to flee Lagos.
“Criminals will not have comfort in Lagos. Lagos is not a comfort zone. My advice (for criminals) is to go away from Lagos,” Manko said.
Bamigbetan was kidnapped in April by unidentified gunmen while he was about to enter his street, Ona Iwa Mimo, Ori-Oke near Egbe bridge in Ejigbo.
He was with his driver, Abiodun Olayiwola, in his black SUV with customised registration number Lagos KOK when the gunmen waylaid him.
The council boss was said to be on his way home from an official assignment when the incident occurred.
His SUV was badly damaged by an electric pole which stopped it while the driver tried to escape from the gunmen.

So here's what we're being told. Kim felt people in her world were going to hawk baby photos, so she wanted to catch the culprits quickly. We're told Kim hatched a plan and sent a half-dozen of her "friends" pictures of a baby she claimed was North West -- but we're told it was an impostor infant.

Sure enough ... someone came along and tried selling us this pic (above). Gotta say ... it looks like it could be Kim and Kanye's baby. It has the right ... well, you know ... but Kim would obviously pick a pic of an impostor baby that had the qualities of her own child.

DOHA, Qatar - (AP) -- Qatar's new ruler was the not the first choice to lead the Gulf nation and its growing political and economic ambitions.

Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani became the crown prince a decade ago -- at the age of 23 -- when his older brother Jassim gave up his position as emir-in-waiting.

That began a gradual grooming process for the British-educated Sheik Tamim inside Qatar's security and investment arms, which are bankrolled by enormous oil and gas wealth.

As deputy commander of the armed forces, he had sway over multibillion dollar arms purchases and direct dealing with defense officials from the U.S. and other Western allies. His senior role with the Qatar Investment Authority gave him a powerful voice over the direction of one of the world's most active sovereign wealth funds, whose landmark stakes around the world include Harrods department store in London and luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co.

But Sheik Tamim's most enduring international image to this point has been linked to sports.

His crowning moment came as he helped win Qatar's bid to host the 2022 World Cup. Sheik Tamim and other Qatari officials, however, later faced complaints that the nation used its vast wealth to swing support its way from football federation members in Africa and elsewhere.

Last year was less positive -- an International Olympic Committee member since 2002, Sheik Tamim headed Doha's unsuccessful bid for the 2020 Olympics. Qatar's capital has been mentioned as a possible bidder for the 2024 Games -- an effort that could get a boost from the new emir.

Sheik Tamim -- who also has served as head of Qatar's Olympic panel since 2000 -- helped avoid an embarrassing showdown with Olympic overseers by organizing the first female athletes representing Qatar for last year's London Olympics. Neighboring Saudi Arabia and the Asian country of Brunei also sent their first women Olympic athletes.

Sheik Tamim was educated at schools in England and then graduated from Sandhurst, Britain's prestigious military academy and alma mater for many Middle Eastern leaders.

His two wives include Sheika Anoud bint Mana al-Hajri, a member of a prominent Qatari family. He has six children.
