Good day friends, please i plan to reapply for study visa which was recently turned down. Reasons given were: 1) Purpose of visit 2) Family ties in home country and in canada (whatever that means). Requested for gcms notes but trying to work on SOP at the interim. Please i need an expert in house to help review my efforts so far. Not so certain how to end it and whether to make reference to the fact that i was refused previously. Please someone should help me out. God bless. 1 Like |

Hello, Please has anyone here applied for a masters in law at Uni of saskatchewan or other universities with moderate tuition? I want to apply straight now for a masters though i have a 2.2. This is pending the outcome of my gcms notes for visa refusal of HR PGC. Was of the opinion that getting admission for a masters may not fly because of the grade but perhaps i should give it a try. i want to know what it entails, whether or not a research paper is compulsory requirement. Your advice will be most appreciated. God bless! |

i understand but for someone with a law background there arent too many options when it comes to applying for a pgc/d (in terms of closely related programs). i would have gladly applied for a masters program out rightly but for my grade. However, i saw somewhere along the thread that its possible to get univeristies that may accept 2.2 for llm program though few. Thats why i am reconsidering whilst still pursuing the pgc. michV: |

Good morning house. I so glad to know there is so much to learn from this thread that may have helped me better if i knew about it. You guys are doing a wonderful job with all the support willingly offered. My study permit application was recently turned down. PGC in Human Resources (Conestoga) Winter 2017. I want to call for my notes. I would have preferred applying for a masters directly (llm), but i had 2.2. However, does any body know of any canadian university that accepts 2nd class lower and possibly the admission process? I understand a research paper has to be submitted too.... plzzzz your advice will be most appreciated. |

Crime / The Dark Side Of Oil & Gas Business A.k.a Rice And Beans by ebimila: 1:41pm On May 19, 2016 |
Guys isnt it funny these days when people say they are into Oil and Gas business meanwhile what they really do is mix the petroleum products for increased monetary gains not minding the hazards associated with their nefarious activities like damage to automobiles/machines and potential health impact which may ultimately result to loss of lives and even environmental degradation. Na wa o... The business is what in local parlance is referred to rice and beans. Some areas in lagos that are known for this but appears is beginning to thrive in Amuwo odofin/okota axis. Tankers troop in/out around Ago bridge area to "jollof" petroleum products causing traffic gridlock on the narrow road along the canal axis as well as damage to the road. Sometimes they even breakdown and cause obstructions. And to think Ambode is at the verge of commissioning the Ago Palace Way (a laudable effort by LASG).. We hope these guys will not damage the road in the nearest future with this their OIL & GAS trade. Cant even imagine what the residents here are passing through. This not to even talk about the numerous trailer drivers carrying massive containers and lorries carrying sand. Chai! May God save his people. See this tanker that got stuck at the head of the bridge whilst trying to maneuver into the canal road early hours of this morning with a quarter of its backside still on the major road (A fatal accident waiting to happen ). And it got stuck in the portion which happens to be last phase of completion by CCECC. Abeg help push this to appropriate section just incase. We need to expose this nefarious acts and shout out before cases of accidents begin to occur around that area.

Career / Re: Should I Resign My New Job For A Contract Job? by ebimila: 11:19am On Apr 12, 2016 |
My friend, first and foremost congratulations on the fact that you have a job although did not tell how well your current employers are doing in the market or business world. Good to know that there is room for career growth and promotion on that job. I guess that means very likely confirmation at expiration of your probation (that is if if you were employed to be a staff and not contractor). As for the other offer, a contract job is a contract job. Gone are the days that you would go into SHELL as a contract staff and get conversion to full staff. The greater percentage of SHELLs employees/ workforce esp. in Nigeria are contract staff (this is basically to reduce overhead). Some have been there for 15- 20 years as contractors on the same salary and even have regrets of having stayed that long. Even at 200k, thats complete stagnation and if i may add, your contract can be terminated at any time because of your status. May that not be your portion. It is important for us to learn from other peoples mistake. Money is not everything. If there is room for growth in your current place, you never can tell where God will take you in those 4 years. Most likely over and above the 200k+ SHELL job. That you worked as a contract staff means nothing and does not in anyway enhance your resume. Besides, you will be amazed at how fast 4yrs will go by, no growth, same pay, same task, more responsibilities (if and when you settle down), less motivation. Think hard and pray more. It always seems to look greener on the other-side. |

I'm beginning to feel this is something close to what the banks were doing at some point when they refuse to allow you close account or move deposit to another bank by frustrating efforts. If they make it easy, just imagine all the crowd we see at the various centers opting to PORT to other networks instead of queuing under the sun just to register or re-register and get their "419" bonus of N5000 OR N10,000 (which virtually disappears before you talk for 5 mins) |

The line has not be deactivated. It was blocked on 2 occasion and then released after that i still did the SIM Reg. Its working now but those messages keep coming in. The issue now is for MTN network to go off so i can put the other SIM. Thats the battle and i cant even imagine going to queue at their office with all this messages coming in. I would rather PORT. |
Phones / Help! Could Mtn Be Deliberately Frustrating Efforts To Port To Other Networks? by ebimila: 10:20am On Jan 18, 2016 |
Goodday Pals. Something funny is obviously going on with MTN. I have undergone MTN registration severally and despite this MTN blocked my line on 2 occasions. In recent times just like everyone else, they have been bombarding me with SIM REG messages and i decided to port. I have been on this matter in the last 2weeks to no avail. The new network provider i want to migrate to has given me another another SIM after completing forms but i cant activate it on my phone without the MTN signal going off. I sent PORT to 3232 and received message to proceed twice but MTN has refused to release the line. I have called their customer care to no avail and its been one excuse or the other. Infact today, i was asked to go their center and i got upset with the lady (thinking of the crowd alone there scares me). When i told her i was going to escalate to NCC, she quickly put me on hold. Then she came back and told me her supervisor will call me back. STORY!!!! I am still waiting. The strange thing is that i have a colleague who is experiencing the same thing and his is over 3weeks. Could this be a deliberate attempt by MTN to frustrate efforts to PORT to another network? |

Why would a lady with naturally good light colored skin decide to bleach? Just imagine how tonto's hands look now, YUCK!!!!. This whiteneous trend is really becoming an addiction for nigerian ladies. For every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction. Lets see how all this bleaching craze will turn out eventually. |

your use of words shows how mannerless you are. Even pips abroad shop online so is it an offence? if you found the post so irritating why comment in the first place? You could have just ignored it. Or perhaps you want to use the opportunity to tell us that you reside in the US. Good for you, message passed. Any more to share? Sloan: |

Sloan: Thanks dear. But why do you sound so frustrated ? Sharing my experience doesnt warrant your rantings. Fine! Things have gone round over the years but shouldnt we aspire for a change? Mind you, not all Nigerians are fraudsters or sportsmen who jump gates instead of bars in the stadiums. 2 Likes |

omenka: i forgot to mention that it has been refunded sort of. When i checked via atm it reflected in Ledger balance but not available balance. i made the transaction last night so i guess i have to wait a while. Besides i am told that usually the debit hits your account, more like holding that portion for your transaction pending confirmation and if it sails through, they get credited. But if the transaction does not sail through, the funds are released but it takes a little time. |
