The SA on Special Duties to the Governor of Bayelsa State; ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐๐๐ซ๐, carried out an outreach program to empower youths and the elderly within the Yenagoa Constituency 2. In his bid to support and compliment the efforts of the Prosperity Administration of ๐๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ฑ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ง. ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ข; in the area of youth empowerment and engagement. Which is geared towards Diri/Law Continuity project. The first phase of the project was done on 19th of May, 2023. At the Ward 10 Headquarter in Ekpetiama clan, where the various communities in ward 10 all visited the ward Headquarter in Agudama Ekpetiama. The outreach program which was solely sponsored by ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐๐๐ซ๐; had 20 persons as beneficiaries from ward 10. While speaking and expressing their joy, the beneficiaries from the various communities referred to the outreach as been, timely and historical; that it is the very first of itโs kind, not like the normal practice where those appointed into offices of such will see it as a means of caring for themselves and family alone, thus one decided to do otherwise which calls for an emulation. Chief Shito Appah of Bumoundi Ekptiama community while speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries in ward 10; recognized the efforts of the Governor of Bayelsa State in deliberately developing the state, by not leaving any project abandoned and he further used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor for finding Hon. Zige Doubara, worthy to serve in the capacity as SA on Special Duties. Chief Shinto was excited over the love the young Zige has shown to the elderly and his consistency at large. He called for other well meaning individuals to emulate the actions of Hon. Zige Doubara, in the same vein he prayed for God's continues blessing upon Hon Zige Doubara for this kind gesture towards the people of the Yenagoa Constituency 2. Comr. Felix Atie Kuipu; a Member of Bayelsa State Students Management Committee; who spoke as an observer, noted the peaceful conduct of the process and warm reception the team received from the communities. He rated Hon. Zige Doubara as an outstanding person who understands the importance of the grassroots and the needs and essence of giving back to society, he also noted that Hon. Zige Doubara, capacity has nevertheless been doubted, but was only waiting for opportunities, he said, and that Hon. Zige has shown capacity beyond every reasonable doubt. He commend, the efforts of Hon Zige Doubara and his team for standing by him and for putting in all to ensure the program was successful, irrespective of the limited resources. He clearly observed that, the people are ready and are waiting patiently to vote massively for His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri come 11th November, 2023. Because of the wide range of support the Governor has gotten within the ward. Responding Hon. Zige Doubara said he is very grateful to almighty God, for making the plans to come to pass, because it was not easy to pull it through but due to God almighty and his hard working team, the whole process was successful. He noted that, this program was just the tip of the iceberg of the plans he has in mind to unravel to the youths within his Constituency, he further stated that, part of the plans is to train 500 Street barbers within Yenagoa Constituency 2. He therefore he calls for supports from well meaning individuals, as he is working tirelessly within the clock, to contribute towards the growth and development of State. He stated that ward 7, 8 and 9 in Gbarain clan would be the next places to visit for the empowerment scheme. Finally, he used the opportunity to appreciate his Principal, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri for the appointment and promise to continue to show capacity, because to whom much is given much is expected. The Team presented an art portrait designed by Miss Constance Christopher, (Face of Bayelsa Campus) to commemorate the birthday celebration of the Honourable Commissioner. The Director General, Amb. Joshua Madock, led Youth oriented bodies under the auspice of Allied Youths for Good Governance and Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization; on a one day Sensitization Program, concerning youths and female participation in the forthcoming general election. The Organization carried out the campaign within metropolis of Yenagoa, whereby major markets were visited. The event which took place today Friday, 23rd September 2022, was aimed at conducting voters sensitization towards the forthcoming Nigerianโs general elections of 2023. The groups ensured an interaction with the leadership of the market visited, to effectively convey the message and essence of โPolitical Participation of Youths and Femalesโ, as captured in the theme of the programme. Traders and registered voters where also urged to quickly collect their โPermanent Voters Cardโ that will ensure their credibility as voters.

The Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization led by her Team Lead Mr Bowei-Ofongo Ebipadei, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Alice Atuwo Executive Secretary, Education Development Trust Fund Board, Bayelsa State. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize and appreciate the Executive Secretary for her noble assistant towards the Organization during the Sensitization Program organized by the Team last month. Speaking at the visit; Mr. Bowei-Ofongo Ebipadei; said that the Team really appreciated the Executive Secretary for her kind gesture, towards the Sensitization Program, even though she could make it to the event, but she deem it fit necessary to send a representative to the program. He also used the opportunity to commend the Executive Secretary and the Board for their tireless efforts towards the development of education in Bayelsa State. The Team Lead, also gave an insight into the Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization; which was birth out of concern, towards improving the girl child education and her social standing, whereby creating awareness towards pertinent issues concerning women's right and welfare. Based on this, the Organization is focused and determined to influence positive and impactful changes in our society. Miss Constance Christopher; Face of Bayelsa Campus; stated that been part of the Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization, has made alot of positive input in her life as an individual, especially her cognitive development and approach towards issues. She believed that through the Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization, she would achieve her desire to be a role model to the young girls. Also speaking, Amb. Deborah Joshua, Bayelsa Campus Queen, Girl Child Ambassador; said that the Organization, has inspire her, to work hard in improving herself to be a better person, who thinks more in making positive impact in the society. In line with the need for an effective, strong advocacy and orientation for feminine participation in the forthcoming general election in 2023; Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization; organized a One Day Sensitization and Orientation Program tagged THE ROLE OF FEMALES IN THE FORTHCOMING GENERAL ELECTION. The program was held on Friday 19th August, 2022; at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Conference Hall, Ekeki Yenagoa. The program was to organized for young females concerning, developing interest and participating in politics, especially the forthcoming general elections in 2023. While presenting her Keynote address, on the topic; the Necessary Actions Towards Improving Female Participation and Representation in Politics. the Pioneer State Coordinator, 100 Women Lobby Group (100 WLG) Bayelsa state chapter; Barr. Tariere Egbegi noted that it is pertinent for women to take cognizant of the fact that they are more populous compare to the male folk, that they should make use of this good advantage of their numerical strength and support viable candidates that would take their welfare and interest to heart when elected. Women should not shy away from politics. She noted some of the challenges women are faced with such as; patriarchy, stigmatization, low level of education, finances, political violence, religion and cultural barriers; in which these made women to have dragged feet in participation in politics. Barr. Tariere Egbegi stated that, the way forward is for political parties to create a support network for prospective aspirant by pairing them with established women politicians who will be playing key role as mentors and provide capacity building for young or aspiring female politicians as to enhance and develop them ahead of subsequent elections. Also building mass coalition of women support and advocacy group using NGOs and Grassroots Women associations to coordinate support and advocacy for fellow women aspirants. Whereby creating enabling environment that allows women to engage meaningfully in decision making process in a sustainable and effective way that is free from violence and harassments of any kind. She also noted that, establishment of legal funds to assist women politicians to challenge electoral malpractices of any form at all levels of political processes. In which, Introduction of quota system at all levels of government and identifying and engaging relevant stakeholders such as Independent National Electoral Commission and political parties to ensure strict adherence to it. These she believes would encourage female participation in politics. Hon. (Mrs) Josephine Ekeuwei, Special Adviser on Women in Politics to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, who represented the Honourable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development and Patron Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization; Hon. Mrs Faith Opene. She said that Women participation in politics is a fundamental prerequisite for gender equality in genuine democracy. It would facilitate women's direct engagement in public decision making, and it is a means of ensuring better accountability to women; thus promoting an enabling environment for women to fully participate not just as aspirants or candidate in any given election(s). She advised that Females should go and collect their permanent voters card (PVC) and ensured they vote because their vote is their voice; which most be heard. Whereby this would enable women to achieve their goal to stop the bias and give them the constitution rights which they demand for. Also speaking was the Amb. Deborah Joshua, Bayelsa Campus Queen; Girl Child Ambassador, noted that, youths have a vast population and putting to mind the low participation rate of young females as contain in the "United Nations General Assembly resolution on womenโs political participation report". It became imperative for young people to utilize their social enterprise in canvassing and encouraging majority of females to vie for political offices and participate in campaigns, voting and administration process. Because, in politics, interest is a factor that is constant. So, it is only when women have people in high political offices, who have their interest at heart, that is when their plights could really be understood and appropriate actions would be taken. She also advised that it is important as young females, they should not be apolitical. Highlight of the program was the interactive session which consist of people of societal impart as panelists. Members of the panel are; Comr. (Ms) Ebi Kutu (Women Leader, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone), Mrs. Queen Indiamaowei (Assistant Director and HOD Procurement, Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF), Bayelsa State; who represented Dr. Mrs. Alice Atuwo, the Executive Secretary, EDTF), Mr. Wilfred Ifogah (HOD Voter Education and Publicity, INEC Bayelsa State), Barr. Deme Pamosoo) and Ms. Josephine Alagba was the Host of the Interactive session While responding to a question if the youths are been committed to make an effective change? Mr. Wilfred Ifogah, stated that, the nonchalant attitude of youths towards the just concluded voter's registration, should be of concern; because the process started since last year but, just few days to the end of the process, they started trooping in their numbers. Whereby some couldn't get registered because of the deadline. He also advised women that, they should take active part in the political system, they should register in a political party and follow things up. Comr. Ebi Kutu observed that women generally have the attitude of not been prompt to support their fellow women in politics. Which is very discouraging, to younger females. Mrs. Queen Indiamaowei; noted that females have a huge role to play in the forthcoming elections; which she stated as, voting, sensitization against election violence and promotion of peaceful coexistence. Barr. Mrs, Emmanuelle Ebiere Ekpese; encouraged women to take active part in politics, which is very important for their interest to be sustained, stating the proposed five Gender Bills in the 5th Constitution Alteration Bills which was rejected by the National Assembly. Good will messages was taken by various participants; Comr. Sylvanus Telimoye Blessing, whose the National Vice President of National Union of Izon-ibe Students (NUIS) Worldwide, spoke on behalf of the Students community; whereby she adviced that younger females should be carried along by the elder ones by mentoring them and she also encourage females to collect their permanent voters card (PVS) and ensure they vote, candidate of their choice. In his closing remark, Mr. Bowei-Ofongo Ebipadei the Team Lead of Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization; appreciated the dignitaries present for their support and commitment to towards the success of the program and in same vein he thanked all participants present at the event. He wholeheartedly appreciated the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development Hon. Mrs. Faith Opene the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development, Bayelsa State. The visit was to familiarize with the Hon. Commissioner and also brief her about the Organization program, which the team invited the Hon. Commissioner as a Special Guest of Honour. Mr. Bowei-Ofongo Ebipadei; stated that BCQ as an organization was birth out of concerns towards the girl child education in Bayelsa State. So far the Organization has been working within the clock to see how, they could contribute to the development of state by dragging the government's attention towards pertinent issues that concerns the girl child welfare and support. The Hon. Bayelsa Campus Queen Organization paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Nimizuoa Uroupaye, the Mayor and Chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Area, at his office, in Yenagoa Local Government Area Secretariat. The visit was to familiarize with the Chairman and officially present HRM Queen Merit Ogboma Abeze; the winner of 2021 Bayelsa Campus Queen maiden edition; to the Chairman. Mr. Bowei-Ofongo Ebipadei the Team Lead, while speaking to the Chairman; said that Bayelsa Campus Queen, is a project birth out of the motive to promote girl child education in Bayelsa; whereby grooming young and intelligent females from tertiary institutions, to be societal model to the young girls in secondary school. Thereby encouraging them to stay focus and pursue their education beyond secondary school. The Team Lead of BCQ also speaking, state that it was indeed a rigorous process, the organization subjected all contestants go through; in other to get the best from the rest. Whereby HRM Queen Merit Ogboma Abeze, an illustrious daughter of Yenagoa Local Government Area who is a student of University of Africa Toru Orua (UAT) emerge as winner of the maiden edition. Also speaking to the Chairman, HRM Queen Merit Ogboma Abeze; stated that she's grateful to the Chairman for the audience he gave to the team and she's very ready to work, in promoting and educating youths especially the girl child concerning pertinent issues they are faced with especially teenage pregnancy and drug abuse in which these affect them as women later in their lives. That's why she want to embark on a pet project, themed Girl Child the pride of our society. In which she will visit 3 secondary school each in the three state constituency in Yenagoa Local Government Area, for the first phase of the project. In his response the Chairman was indeed happy for an indigen of his Local Government Area for winning the Crown, irrespective of the challenges she faced. He stated that he is very proud of her. He also commend the organizers of the pageant for thoughtfully organizing a project of this nature, with the motives of addressing issues that has caused the death and decay of societal morals. He noted that, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, girl child education and proper parental care are issue that should be paid cognizant to. He also said that he is in support of the project, especially the campaign the organization tends to launch, to sensitized the youth about these pertinent issues. Whereby he also used the opportunity to celebrate with Women as they celebrate the International Women's Day. In which he stated women participatory in society is very important for the growth of the society. The meeting was attended by Miss Constance Christopher (1st runner up), Miss Tracy Slaboh (2nd runner up), Miss Deborah Joshua (4th runner up), Mr. Boye Philips (Manager Nostalgea Cinema), Hon.
