Abidemi Rufai, a longtime associate of Governor Dapo Abiodun who currently serves as his top aide on special duties, has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States for his role in a $650 million (N312 billion) employment fraud.

His arrest comes almost a year after officials announced they were temporarily suspending unemployment benefits payments after discovering that criminals had used stolen Social Security numbers and other personal information to file bogus claims for federal and state unemployment benefits.

A man has been arrested with a fresh human head. The police arrested him after they caught him with a fresh human head.

The Police parades a man who narrates how he bought the human head from a man called Monsuru for rituals and his accomplice.

Monsuru later confesses how he killed two people and sell their parts to people who need them for any purpose of their choice. He said he has been in this business for a while before he was later arrested.

Ned Nwoko is the number one trending topic on Twitter after former beauty queen, Pamela Ifejoku, accused him of putting her father in jail and causing her mother to spend her birthday in prison because their community resisted his attempt at land grabbing.

Pamela, who has bestowed MBGN Miss Tourism after she emerged second runner-up when she contested as Miss Abuja in the 2019 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, released a video crying for help on Twitter.

The Bauchi State Chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has urged its members to vacate the 17 southern states, where governors have decided to ban open grazing. 

In a news across all platforms, MACBAN Chairman, Sadiq Ibrahim Ahmed, said:

“This is a simple calculation. We are heading for secession. The rulers are no longer interested in the people. If some people are banned from open grazing, there is nothing more. Fulani people should move out from there. It is very simple. 

“Must we transport the cattle there? I have said it before. We have an option of breeding our cattle here (North). We are peace lovers. Let them come and buy from us. It is some people’s fault. 

“Criminality started in the South. Armed robbery, kidnapping. all started in the South. We have been watching these on television. And if these are being transited to the North, and you know we have a government that is not protecting the Constitution of the nation. Everyone takes laws into his hands. 

“The Southern governors can do that. There is no problem, let them do what they want. If the Northern governors feel like, they can also do it too (banning open grazing)...”
Sadiq charged southern governors to face criminal groups in the South and leave Fulani herders alone.

He said:

“The President is there as a figurehead. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He is not controlling anybody. In our country now, everyone does what he feels like. The country is already moving apart. Where is the central government, if some governors can meet and take decisions that are against the Constitution...?”
Sadiq said the solution to Nigeria’s security challenge is for the “President to step aside or for Nigerians to put heads together and elect a credible president in 2023, a leader with focus and competence. Nigeria should get a leader with a good example, who is ready to sacrifice his life for his subjects.”

Former member of House of Representative, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi over the weekend said that there will be an emergence of the third party if the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) deny former Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu its President ticket come 2023.

The former lawmaker stated that another political party may come on board in favour of Tinubu to tackle Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC to make the dream of the APC National leader in becoming Nigerian next President a reality.

Speaking on a live radio program on Saturday in Ibadan, Hon. Fijabi, who represented Ibadan Northwest/Southwest under APC at the 7th and 8th assembly while fielding question on Tinubu’s Presidential ambitions stated that anything can happen in 2023 because Nigerians are unpredictable.

He said, “our people are unpredictable, there might be the emergence of the third party to counter the two existing ones (PDP and APC) if Asiwaju Tinubu is denied presidential ticket by APC in 2023.”

Fijabi however said that APC will come back stronger in 2023 in the State because reconciliation is currently ongoing within the party to bring back all the aggrieved party members into one fold.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the elite and Nigerians to be more understanding of the military as the country grapples with a high level of insecurity.

Buhari said the spate of attacks and kidnappings in the north-west is a “big surprise and disappointment”.

A statement released by Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, on Thursday, said Buhari commented while speaking with journalists at the State House shortly after observing the Eid prayer.

He said the military is making efforts to tackle the situation but that it takes a “very long process” to achieve the desired results.

The president also said his administration is doing its best with available resources.

The statement read in part; “The elite should make the attempt to understand the military. If we order weapons and armoured vehicles, it takes time for the manufacturers. It takes time to ship them and when brought here eventually, they are taken to training institutions, train the trainers before sending them to the field. This is a very long process.

“I expect Nigerians to be more understanding on the issues involved, looking at the time and available resources.

“For example, when we came in, in the Northeast, ask people in Adamawa and Borno States and the South-South in terms of security. Without security, you can’t do anything. Our big surprise and disappointment are what is happening in the Northwest and we are dealing with it.”

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has taken legal action against her colleague, Yomi Fabiyi, and has demanded N100m as payment for damages caused by his ‘defamatory publication’.


In a letter written by Ojo’s lawyers, The Maverick Forte Legal, it was said that during Fabiyi’s protest defamatory statements were inscribed on placards some of which read, “Nigeria Police please allow the law to dictate to you, not Iyabo Ojo, Princess and co. Please release Baba Ijesha.”

A civil servant, Mr Kufre Effiong, has explained his link to Frank Akpan, the suspected killer of the slain job-seeker, Iniubong Umoren.

According to records obtained from his mobile network provider published Monday by Newswire, Mr Akpan, shortly before his arrest had telephone conversations with Messrs Ezeugo and Effiong, a revelation that has raised suspicion of conspiracy.

Mr Ezeugo heads the police division that supervised the arrest of Mr Akpan while Mr Effiong, a civil servant at the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta, is a close relation of the suspect.

Ebitu Blog had reported how 26-year-old Miss Iniubong Umoren, a fresh graduate of the University of Uyo was found dead 48 hours after she left home to honour a job interview scheduled by Mr Akpan at a location on the outskirts of Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The murder suspect who according to the police later confessed to being a serial rapist confirmed raping and killing the missing lady ‘Iniubong Umoren’. He also claimed he buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound after raping her.

On 30/04/2021, the Command received a report on the disappearance of the victim. Following available leads men of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Command led by CSP Inengiye Igosi, consolidated on the initial great progress made by the DPO Uruan, SP Samuel Ezeugo and arrested the perpetrator who confessed to having lured his victim to his house in the guise of giving her (Miss Iniubong Umoren) a job but ended up sexually and physically assaulting her which led to her death.

“To cover his tracks, he dragged and buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound,” Odiko MacDon, the Akwa Ibom Police Command spokesperson, said.

Late Miss Iniubong Umoren Lagos-based friend, Umo Uduak, who initially raised the alarm on social media informed the Urua police division on April 29 but the operatives did not swing to action until April 30, following a 24-hour guideline. The police usually wait for 24 hours to see if people declared missing would reappear before launching a search for them.

Mr Akpan’s father was arrested on April 30 and the culprit was arrested later that day. The suspect’s arrest was made on May 1.

However, Mr Ezeugo and Mr Effiong in separate interviews with PREMIUM TIMES, both men explained that they were only in talks with the culprit to facilitate his arrest.
