If you put the Victron Venus OS large image on a Raspberry Pi (be sure to use a 3B and not a Pi4) - you can natively connect your Victron smart shunt via VeDirect to USB, also your BMS can natively use the Venus OS driver for serial batteries so that SoC and cell level info are plug and play available on the Pi - works if your BMS is Daly or JBD or Jk and a host of others.

So already you have shunt and BMS data available on the VeBus network and available to use for info and control.

The Venus OS large image has NodeRed and you can create flows to pass BMS SoC data from the USB port of the Pi to the RS485 or CAN port of your Deye - if you are using CAN for control (charging etc) then you must have some control parameters setup.

For free Victron already provided you all the tools you need to attack most automation projects both on Victron and non Victron equipment

No it's not an all victron setup. I'm using a deye/sunsynk 5kw inverter and batteries that only have Bluetooth comms. This limits me in terms of an ideal inverter config since there's no accurate soc value for the inverter to use, and using just voltages is not ideal

So I'll have the wifi module connected in the rs232 port on the inverter.. That will allow me to use the inverter's own wifi app but these are usually limited.

On the rs485 port, I want to connect a pi running solar assistant.

I'll now have a free CAN port and another rs485 port (meant for battery comms)
So wouldn't be able to implement this solution with another pi as a gx device unless I sacrifice solar assistant.

Goodday Oga Gazzuzz and other gurus in the house. Your expert advise is highly needed, please. I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla that I want to work on. The major/easily noticed problem with the car is the transmission. The car refuses to accelerate beyound 40kph. After about 30/40 minutes of driving, the speed reduces further and ultimately, the car refuses to move. One has to switch off the engine and restart the car before it responds and move very slowly.
Below are the initial codes obtained from scanning the car:

I noticed that a can of Sea Max Dexron III was used in the car, don`t know if it has any negative effect. I believe the car is supposed to used Toyota WS ATF. Also noticed that thermostat has been removed and fan is always on. The advise I have so far is to change the gearbox (13 pins). Should I go with this or can the gearbox be fixed? Thanks.

It was a very close colleague. First they told him it was the transmission control solenoid. He paid for it, it was changed and nothing changed. He was advised to replace with 610,000.

He felt the money was too much and they assured there was a gear specialist who can fix it. Gear specialist charged N170,000 and swore to the heavens he has done it countless times and succeeded. To cut the long story short, over 250k eventually went down the drain chasing shadows.

The transmission he didn't want to buy initially was what he eventually bought with about 650k.

Since then I have been spreading the information to whoever cares to listen.

Thanks for this. Planning to work on 2010 Corolla with gear issues. Already getting advice that it can be worked on. Think I will go for replacement.

One other thing, the car intermittently fails to start. When I turn the key, the engine does not crank (dead silence). I have to wait for 2 or 3 minutes before starting it and it immediately starts without hesitation. This behaviour can occur at any time. I might drive for a week without it occurring. No code on the scanner. I use techstream and some others to scan.
