Thank you to all the contributors in here. Pls I need your advice.

I got a mail this morning from ukvi to provide employment records and employer references for the jobs I’ve had since my last time in education which was in 2015.

I left school in 2015 and went for service in 2016 and since I finished service in 2017. I’ve worked as an adhoc staff for a company between 2018 and 2019. The job terminated sometime in 2019 and I’ve been managing my own small business since then.
How do I go about this because I’m currently confused.
when did you do your biometrics? You can send your NYSC certificate, get a reference letter from the company and add your CAC documents if you have. If you don’t have, write an introduction letter explaining what you’ve been doing since you stopped working for that company.

I just got an NSF mail requesting for a consent letter to use the funds in my wife’s account as my proof of funds, she’s the main applicant.
Pls any advise on how to go about this. Can she just type a letter in that regards or is there a template to be followed
@Justwise @Aprokodaughter @LuchiBianca and others, pls kindly advise as I need to respond to them ASAP.

when was your biometrics? All she needs to do is write a letter stating she’s gives consent for you to submit her bank statement as proof of funds as your money is included i n her account.

Hello All, i got this NSF mail below for my 2 children(I applied with their US passport)- I got my visa on the 13th December then applied for my 2kids and their father on the 17th. Bearing in mind that they are children dependants with no CAS. Also, their dad's statement of account was submitted and my visa page as well. I also read on the Gov.uk website that US citizens do not require to submite evidence of funds, however they have the right to ask. Anyone ever exeperienced this cry
I think you got this because they applied at a different time. Maybe they should have uploaded your CAS and your visa vignettes too

Thank you for your recently submitted Student application. Under our differentiated application arrangements, we reserve the right to request further documentation. Your application has been selected and it is therefore necessary to request further documentation from you. Please submit a digital copy of a financial document which confirms your ability to meet the requirements of Appendix Finance of the Immigration Rules and the educational certificate(s) listed in your CAS as used by your Student sponsor to assess your suitability to undertake your chosen course of study. Both documents need to be in English or accompanied by a translation into English and returned to the following email address: SheffieldStudentTeam.DocRequests@homeoffice.gov.uk within ten working days of the date of this email. Further guidance on these documents can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/points-based-system-student-route
Please ensure that the subject line of your email contains your GWF reference number and your full name. Once these documents have been received, we will assess your application. Failure to submit the above documentation in time may result in the refusal of your application.

I think you made a mistake with the category of the visa application. It states “your recently submitted student visa application” it should state something like “you are applying to join” or “dependent visa”. But regardless, submit the POF you provided for them, your CAS and all necessary documents.

Congratulations!

Now to answer Uis does not have to document for your family. Infact they don't! All you have to do is as you are applying to udi for yourself, your family too sends in their application which involves your husband documenting through his bank statement a sum of Nok 150,129 (273,648 nok - your already sent 123,519 nok).

By doing this, when udi processes your application, they process your family's at the same time. If you're going to be given a visa, they would give your family too the same time.

Initially, I thought I was going to go first then my family joins me later if I was the one admitted but I realized you can all go at the same time. Its the same requirement. So why do you have to wait for nothing less than six months when you can as well go at the same time.

Have you applied for housing?

I am glad that you shared this info.. please can you send me your email? I want to chat better thanks

My wife has been granted admission to Uis. Even though Uia and Uit has not gotten back to me with regards to my own application, we will just immediately do a family reunification (which includes myself and the kids) when she is applying for her own study permit. Therefore, I don't mind if the schools I applied to don't offer me admission.
hello Mr cute TJ I also I applied to UIS and for the same course. I have aso been granted the admission, we are in the same boat as I also plan to travel with my husband and child but the issue on ground now is that UIS said they wouldn’t document for the student’s family members as they can only receive 130k NOK for financial documentation. So your wife would have to go first and maybe you and the kids will join after few months.

Hello Efair!

I'll gladly answer all questions asked in the order it was thrown;

1) Having a closing balance of NOK 123,519 ain't really advisable ( looking at the interest rates and currency fluctuations). Make provision for those contingencies. Try to raise it slightly higher at least to be on a safer lane.

2) If you've it stamped, that's lovely but the downloadable ones on Bank apps suffices too. It's official too. I used the one normally received monthly. So it's all acceptable.

3) If both of your name is on the statement, then it's satisfactory providing your name is also there. If it's not, then your Hubby needs to draft a sponsorship letter. BTW, a sponsorship letter is pretty easy to sample. I have samples.

4) To bring your Hubby and kids is 100% possible. The applicant ( your Hubby) is entitled to work 40hrs per week and your kids enjoy the privileges other kids enjoys too. I know applicants intending to bring their spouse and kids when they get there.

Additionally, it's equally possible to bring your fiancé/fiancée too.

Best of luck!
Thank you Arinze, I really appreciate, thanks for the clarification and taking out time to explain. I’d sure let you know if I need any other info.

Can you tell us how it is over in Norway at this time, the effects of the virus on your everyday life and generally how you're coping?
Do you also see this virus affecting the universities in how admissions and subsequent classes will be by next year?

Thank you.

Good evening everyone, thanks to all those who have been keeping the thread together. We the newbies are really benefitting from this and it goes along way. My issue is not a big one, I intend to study in Norway and I already got a school I can follow up with (UIT). I just did my change of name recently as I am married but my passport and other documents carries my maiden name, my application requests that I put my name as it is on my passport. Since I intend to travel with my husband, will this affect the issuance of my study permit? I’d be waiting for replies thanks

Ma’am the rate of refusal would always be high, so just play your part, package well, get every thing necessary. Then apply.. after that pray to whatever you believe in for mercies and Favour cos at that point it’s no longer in your hands. Wishing you the very best. Godspeed

Alright, Thank you and God bless
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Efair12: 8:43pm On Oct 10, 2020
Chocs:
Hello Efair12

My advice for you would be to defer. This would give you enough time to build your account and prepare your application documents. December is close. Going from 7m to 20m in such a short time, how would you explain that? What’s the source of the money? This is something the visa officer would check. Having the money alone is not enough, the source must be clear with proof.

Some people have been approved recently. It’s good you found the thread before you applied. Kindly read from page one of the thread (you can see the page numbers at the bottom of the page) to the end and build your knowledge, so you can put in a very strong application.

For funds, you need to show proof of tuition for 1 year + at least 10,000 cad for living expenses. As someone with a husband and kid, there must be enough money left for them to live well while you are studying, all the money belonging to the family cannot be used for your study. So 7m is definitely too small.

What course did you study previously and what level? (e.g bsc, HND e.t.c.)
What Course are you going for in Canada and level (bsc, msc, PGD)
If you’re employed, what field is the employment in? (eg admin assistant, lawyer etc)

These are things that can affect your application. The course you’re going for should align with your previous academic and employment line. If it doesn’t, you must give convincing reasons to the visa officer why you’re going for that course to avoid a refusal.

Do you own any landed property? Please include proof of it in your application if you have any.
Also your business registration documents

You should start writing your SOP (statement of purpose) now. It’s a very important part of your application.

You can check out the following links to help you prepare a solid application. It has info on documents needed, how to upload them, common reasons for refusal and how to tackle it.

Thank you for your reply,
Firstly we have been running the account for over 6 months and it has a turnover of over 100m. For the kind of business we do and based on the history of the account, having 20m in a short period shouldn’t be a problem since money comes in from time to time. My first year fees and living expenses of 10000 dollars is 13m
Secondly, I had my b.sc in Tourism and events management and want to pursue my masters in Tourism management
Thirdly, I have a land property and I also have a reference letter from the commissioner of tourism in my state.
Lastly, I just want to be sure if I should go ahead with the application giving the time frame or still defer since my program starts 1st of December. Please let me know if there’s any other advice you have, thank you and God bless

Good evening everyone,
My name is Ife and I am very very new here, how’s everyone doing? Please I’d need your help with my case thanks in advance.
I have been offered an admission into a DLI and program starts Dec 1. I am 24, married. My husband is my sponsor as we run an automobile business together and we are both signatories to the account. I paid 5000 CAD for tuition deposit and as at now we have 7m in the account but will hopefully raise 20m before I apply for my visa. I intend to apply alone even though I have a daughter.
Now my fear is, since my program is close do I still go ahead to and apply? And also the refusal rates nowadays is alarming and is making me skeptical should I go ahead and apply regardless or wait till the world is a bit normal. I was able to gather few information that the rate of denial is high but their desk is full or so so they trying to clear and let new applications come in. Has anyone been approved recently? Please I’d like for all the guru to come to my aid in this, I want to make my mi d to either go ahead with the application or defer to April next year. I’d be glad if you look into this, thanks and God bless
