lol, when I said braid I meant  braid with my own hair. I don't like to use extensions when I braid my hair.

I hope to do that too but it will be a while before my hair grows to a length that can achieve that.

SA Goddess:

Yeah girl, 4 months, it was the "singles" like drop and something but done all the way to the end. . . . you sit for 8 hours and pay a lot of money for those so it does not make sense to take them out after a month when you put so much into getting them done. Never again though, taking them out is another story! I will be doing cane/cornrows from now on!
Same type I used to do. It didn't matter how long I sat, after a month it's coming out or I lose my hair. I think the only style I kept for 4 months was when i did dreadlocks with extensions. Never again will I do that. My hair was never the same after taking the extensions out.

Four months! shocked shocked shocked What kind of braids was that? The longest I have had braids on is a month and a half and only because I was lazy to loosen it. This one might be the shortest,i hope i get to carry it for 3 weeks. The hair don tire me.

SA Goddess:

LOL@ ear length to neck length over night  cheesy

I know I am not doing singles/braids for a long while, that is what led me to cut my hair in Aug in the first place!!!
How? Did it destroy your edges? I braid my hair twice a year. Can't stand more than that.

@ Inked,by the time you braid you'll miss your hair. A change in looks is always worth the stress though.
Fashion / Re: The Natural Mixtress--Natural Remedies And Solutions by Ejadamen(f): 3:37pm On Nov 18, 2010
Ah I see. I only know dudu osun. Never seen black soap sold in containers but then I'm not a market person. I think I'll stick to my shampoo though I've been considering switching to baking soda or apple cider vinegar. But I am interested in natural conditioners so recipes please.
Fashion / Re: ***Hair For African Women*** by Ejadamen(f): 2:51pm On Nov 18, 2010
It's been 2 weeks since I braided my hair and I miss my hair. I can't wash the hair and my hair is missing water. When I do take the braids off I wonder when next I'll braid again. I wonder if I'll miraculously go from ear length to neck length tongue I doubt.

Arlington:

Hello ladies and Gentlemen,
How are you doing? I do come here at least 2 times a day but i am not posting simply for the honest reason that it is a TTC board and i feel since i am pregnant i don't want to constantly rub it in the faces of peoples still waiting to get there own pregnancies.
I know it will inspire people but as human beings i think it gets to a stage where it hurts a little bit i know this from experience.I want to share much more than i am sharing presently but just don't want to upset anyone.
I wish someone would take it up that is TTCING and make this active as well with me just chipping in for now. I do not plan on leaving will answer all questions I can but try not to over do it , but if no one steps up to do it i will still be here trying to keep this topic alive.
The main people who have been here seem to have dropped off one by one either by choice or no time.
I plan on starting a new thread in January about after TTC like for mom's to help each other with there new babies health tips teething etc. so we don't keep on blasting the fact some of us have had babies already you guys tell me what you think.
I am saying all this because i personally am a very sensitive person so i am just trying to put my self in other peoples shoes.
Please tell me what you guys think.
You hit the nail on the head. This is the reason I am reluctant to post some times. I like the idea of the new thread,in fact I was about to suggest it. What about a thread for currently pregnant women? tongue

@ Ferhyntorlah, my hair is natural. I'm 4 and a half months post BC(big chop). I already do most of what you wrote except the relaxing. It's high maintenance but I love how soft and wonderful my hair feels.

Lol. Modath deal with them wisely. It's frustrating trying to explain something that's good and that works to someone who just refuses to learn. My motto is if my husband is happy with me the way I am or with what I am doing then to hell with other people, within reason. See, my goal weight is 70kg but my husband has told me not to try it. He's Yoruba you see grin and gave me all those reasons your people gave you grin So I'll have to compromise. You sound like you have a bit of a temper,no offense meant. Just deal with your peeps with wisdom, bear the unrequested advice and continue with your life when you return to Abj. After all it's your life. But do not stop your healthy living because of someone else. My 2 kobo. Have a nice holiday wink

modath:

Romeo,my relatives(who i care about and respect their opinions) are complaining that am too skinny, was not built to be that skinny(76kg),they also said am giving people the impression that am either depressed,my husband is maltreating me,or am impoverished.i cant avoid them for now cos we are together @ my grandma's for the eid celebration."Are they blind cant they see my gut" i know they will soon get used to it but they want to kill me now.
Hi modath. I'm fine thank you. From what you've written it sounds like you are in a Yoruba family. You can't really blame them as a married skinny woman is perceived to be suffering or not being taken of. A bit of it is some jealousy. I advice that you find a balance. I realize that you have a goal but try to balance it sha. What about your husband? If he's okay with it then no probs. Please dnt let them kill you o tongue

@ all,hi. Is mayonnaise okay for a pregnant woman to eat? I've been craving a sandwich for a while now but i remember reading somewhere that a preg woman shouldn't eat mayonnaise, true? I know it's not the healthiest of choices but help before I tear my hair out.

@ ferhyntoriah, lovely hair. I can't believe it's all yours. It's pretty. Can't wait for when I can braid my hair without extensions.

My hair is 4 months old since I chopped it and last week I was able to braid it. i do miss pouring water on my head everyday sad but I love the different look. the ladies who braided my hair were surprised at how soft it was. madlady, that means it comes as a soap? Pics weren't so clear to me. Shea butter is very good for hair. I love it! Only a small quantity is needed,a teeny bit. Anything more and it's heavy.

Hi Arly,it is well. You will deliver safe and sound and you and your baby will be in good health,in Jesus name. Congrats in advance, didn't know you were that far along already tongue

MyPeace where are you?

Sammiejo,thanks.

I am doing well, just tired and sleepy most times. Baby has been kicking gently but I am a bit worried as the frequency and intensity of the kicks have reduced since weekend. Baby kicks just not as hard and frequent as before. I believe all is well.

Also please can anyone tell me the most effective OPK kit and how it works?

@mightlove - when do you plan to introduce exercise into your programs? You can start gently and push yourself as you get better.

@modath - what's good?? Hope u didn't enjoy yourself too much? tongue. Saying that, i was at a friends birthday party, and the Pounded yam with Efo + Egusi was just to die for!  I took it upon myself to reduce the amount available at the party!
