Yomieluv: Masturbation: Tips and Warnings
1
Stop punishing yourself. Consider it this way: if you're constantly dwelling on the disapproval of masturbating, you're still thinking about masturbation all the time. Don't just trade in your masturbation addiction for another one — they're so closely related that you won't resolve anything. Instead, acknowledge that this has been a problem for you, but you will persevere to stop the impulse.

Remember, you're human. Humans make mistakes, and they have sexual urges. Neither of these things makes you a bad person. Forgive yourself, and keep in mind that you are more than the sum of your mistakes.
Resist the urge of sinking into despair by remembering the times spent feeling sorry for yourself when it could have been spent relinquishing your addiction.

2
Remove anything that tempts your urge to masturbate. Some common enablers include:
Access to pornographic material: If you have a collection and you're serious about quitting masturbation, you'll have to dispose of it. Burn or shred paper, Don't wipe your hard drive just delete the sexy pictures, and set up parental controls on your Internet browser that block adult content.
Certain times of the day: If you have problems before going to bed or in the shower, refrain from any temptation to masturbate. For instance, if it's a problem late at night, drop to the floor and do push-ups until you're too exhausted to do anything but fall asleep. If you find shower time too tempting, start using ice cold water only — you won't want to be in there for long.
Boredom: If you have so little to do that your mind frequently wanders to sexual thoughts, occupy your schedule. You'll find it gets easier to avoid masturbation if you're too busy or tired to spare any energy for distractions.
Loneliness: If you masturbate frequently because you feel lonely, find ways to limit your solitude. For instance, instead of watching the game at home by yourself, watch it at a sports bar. Even if you're not hanging out with friends, you will not be alone, ultimately having no time for masturbation.

3
Find another outlet for your time and energy. Fill your life with engaging activities. The excitement of doing something different can help replace the urge to masturbate, and you'll have a go-to distraction next time you're tempted. Try some of these options.

Get creative. The process of turning sexual urges into creative output (called sublimation) is something on which monks and sages have relied upon for centuries. Start writing, learn to play a musical instrument, paint, draw, or do whatever else makes you feel like you're doing something productive.
Do sports. It takes discipline and persistence to excel at a sport. Develop an interest like running or swimming, or a group sport like soccer, football, basketball, or tennis.
Eat healthy. Fruits and vegetables have healthy effects on the body and provide nutrients necessary to increase your energy to be more active throughout the day.
Find a new hobby, or cultivate a skill. Learning something that takes a while to master can refocus your brain on the delayed gratification of achieving goals instead of the instant

Music/Radio / Re: How Many Gospel Songs Do You Have On Your Phone? by Eklektika(m): 12:00am On Dec 24, 2013
Of the 246 songs on my Nokia C2,only 1,the comforter's song by Jeremiah Gyang ft Asa,is a secular track. The remaining 245 are all Gospel tracks.
Call ME by Iyke Onka, Welcome To Zion by Frank Edwards ft Victor,HE Will by Jim Reeves have all been on repeat on my phone media player since today!
I'm all for #TeamGospelMusic anyday. I cant bear listening to the crap that they call secular music with the attendant noise, explicit lyrics, crapply lines and mind-destroying influence. It can only harm my delicate mind.

Celebrities / Re: Karen Igho Suffers From Cancer by Eklektika(m): 6:17pm On Dec 18, 2013
As much as it is quite sad to learn that a woman has bosom cancer, yet I think that sometimes some women bring it upon themselves by their lifestyle and behaviour.

I say this because I remember I read an interview that Karen Igho granted to a magazine during the heady days of her incarceration in the charade that was Big Brother Africa.

In the interview, she happily admitted that she had padded her bosoms surgically.

I remember I have read somewhere that these bosom implants contain Silicone which increases the chance of the woman getting bosom cancer.

She flaunted her bosom and even said that enhancing her bosom has boosted her self-confidence.

I feel pity for her, sha but with the foregoing, I have to ruefully admit that she brought this on herself.

That said, I don't gloat over her misfortune because Cancer is a disease you should never wish on your worst enemy.

I comment my Reserve.

Religion / Re: Are Female Pastors Antichrist ? by Eklektika(m): 8:02pm On Nov 10, 2013
clip: Some interpret this passage to mean that women should never teach in the assembled church. However, others commentators say that Paul's word "I suffer not"( I never let) can be more literally translated"I am not allowing" Paul did not forbid women from ever teaching men. Paul' s commended co-worker, Prisilla, thought Apollos, the great preacher ( Act 18:24-26). In addition,Paul frequently mentioned other women who held positions of responsibility in the church. Phebe worked in the church ( Romans 16:1) Mary,Tryphena were the Lord's workers (Romans 16:6,12) as were Euodias and syntyche (Philippians 4:2) Paul was here prohibiting the Ephesians women, but not all women from teaching.

djeezy: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
neither bond nor free, there is neither
male nor female: for ye are all one in
Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28). There is no discrimination in the house of God. Anyone led by the holy spirit can preach and teach the gospel, be it male or female. If I may ask, why can't women preach?
2 Timothy 2 Verses

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression
.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

And if you think Paul's commandment is dispensable, check out Galatians 1;
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed
.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Worst set,ke?
What would you say about the class of '95-Igeniwari George and co? Or class of '99-Taofeek Oyasipe that didnt even qualify for the U-17 World cup?

Back To Topic- For me, its Kelechi Iheanacho. That boy's left foot is lethal! He should be taken to one foreign academy, shielded from prying eyes and 'cooked'. In few years time, he would be a world-beater. He has the makings of a 'Trequartista', a player who can operate freely in the final third, popping in and out and wrecking havoc. And he's GENUINELY young!

Chelsea would beat Arsenal easily today. No Flamini to do the dirty work. No Coquelin, no Arteta(missing in action due to Red Card vs Crystal Palace). No Ozil.
I trust Mourinho, he knows how to play any team Wenger puts out right from his first tenure at Stamford Bridge. Just get hard, prevent them from playing that their free-flowing passing game and stifle them. Its a strategy that Ferguson and Mourinho have often used time and again to frustrate Wenger. 3-1 to Chelsea. Hazard, Torres and Oscar to score.

Nairaland / General / Remembering Dele Giwa On 19 October. by Eklektika(m): 8:14pm On Oct 19, 2013
It was an event that sent shock ripples across the Country and reverberated around the world. On that ill-fated Sunday morning this day 27 years ago, a journalist of the finest breed and craft was gruesomely extinguished via a parcel bomb. Questions have been repeatedly asked, fingers pointed, muted accusations made, yet decades after a crime so heinous in execution that it would shock the present era that is rocked with terrorism, and so expert and meticulous in execution not normally seen, no culprit has been brought to book to answer for the crime. As much as that was the case, it remains a huge blotch on the judiciary, casting a pall of doubt over its credibility.
Among the many theories that were alluded to as the reason behind his murder, the one that has stuck is that of Gloria Okon. According to the reports, Gloria Okon was a drug courier who was apprehended at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in possession of some narcotics. Later, another report was released indicating that Ms. Gloria Okon, who it was alleged, was working under the employ of the late wife of former President Ibrahim Babangida, Maryam Babangida, had died in custody. However Giwa tracked the afore-mentioned suspect to London and interviewed her where she spilled the beans. Armed with such explosive information, he was raring to return and make the news public via Newswatch.
Knowing the implication of making the interview public knowledge, the State made surreptious moves to prevent the news from being published. Despite their best efforts, the fiery journalist was not ready to do their bidding. So he was subsequently liquidated in that dastardly manner.
The State at that time, however, did nothing to assuage the rumours swirling across the land that it had a hand in the demise of the ace journalist.
A report by Justice Chukwudifu Oputa indicting the retired General has inexplicably not been released since its compilation despite a clamour to that effect by civil and human rights groups. No matter the theories propounded by conspiracy theorists as to the motive of his killers, the fact remains that the fearless journalists had access to some damning information which his killers feared he would divulge in his highly influential media platform.
Purists of the writing craft maintain that robust journalism died with the man on that fateful day in 1986. Giwa was fearless, as he was a brilliant journalist. He was a man who integrity was second nature to. He managed to build Newswatch magazine into a top notch publication whose readers were left drooling at the quality of journalism they were served in every edition of the magazine. As the conspiracy theories continue to swirl, the crime would remain classified in the archives of whodunit with cases like the assassination of President J. F. Kennedy as one that has remained insoluble.

Career / Re: The Tales And Woes Of A Typical Access Bank Teller by Eklektika(m): 2:47pm On Oct 01, 2013
Travelista: Sorry to hear about the deaths of your coworkers; terribly sad state of affairs.

Now, here's something you may not want to read but it's truth and may help to put a few things into perspective:

1. According to your post, IBplc was taken over by Access Bank. As an IBplc employee (core or support), a person would be lucky to still have their job. In takeovers/mergers, the company that was taken over almost always gets the short end of the stick; this means, unless stipulated in the documentation that allowed for the acquisition and/or merger in the first place, your jobs is not guaranteed. If any wants to be angry, their wrath should be directed at the former leaders of IBplc.

2. Access Bank does not have to offer room for growth to former IBplc workers. Access has employees they hired using their own hiring practices; they come first. Don't like it, find another job.

3. As for being terminated for the slightest infraction: remember that Access took over physical branches but they may not need all of the employees acquired from IBplc. Again, making a mistake may look like you shouldn't have been hired in the first place. I know the excuse is flimsy but, again, they don't have to keep on people they did not vet themselves.

4. I don't even know how to address you blaming Access for the death of employees. If the families of the deceased believe that death was caused by actions made/taken by Access, they can file a lawsuit. Other than that, no business is going to offer money without being asked/forced.

5. Again, Access did not have to keep IBplc employees on payroll. Asking workers to stay late is the norm especially after a major takeover. As there lapses during the transition period, it is only fair that things get back to normal as soon as possible; that usually means someone is going to be burning the midnight oil and as IBplc was taken over, their held over workers get to do the grunt work.

6. No one from the former IBplc or Access Bank has to show up for the funerals; would it have been nice to show solidarity at such a time? Of course but it is a personal choice as to whether one attends such events. Outside of the branch where the deceased worked, no one else should be expected to beat their chests and pull out their hair. Access Bank is your employer and NOT your relative. As long as they pay you, they don't owe you anything else.

7. Core staff and support staff are not the same thing nor do they share the same duties; why should support staff be afforded the same benefits of core staff? You're complaining about not receiving nursing mother benefits even though your were paid during your maternity?! Amazing. Here, maternity leave is unpaid.

8. The more I read, the more irritated I am becoming with the author of this piece. Unless the professional, core and support staff all have the same level of degree, the complaints should just end. Why should someone put in the time to earn a higher degree only to earn the pay money and benefits as someone that has a lower level degree?

I can't even continue...this person was kept following a takeover and still complains. I must need a nap because this whole piece is just full of whining for no justifiable reason.

Cheer up, upgrade your degree and try again. If Access still won't give you a chance, look elsewhere. Good luck. smiley

You harsh o! I tell you. You talk like one of these 'Higher Ups', who are often too professional, lack empathy and and are generally unfeeling. Well, its your your opinion, sha.

Stegomiah: [b]I think he is being sarcastic with his comments, no one gave the super eagles a chance, especially considering the fact that they had to face ivorycoast in the Q.F's, and i for one believe if we have many key players like onazi, moses and emmenike in the confederations cup, we will atleast reach the quarterfinals of the competition.

Yes, the individual skills(lyk we had in okochas dayz is no more there), the flair is no more there, their game is slow, he was right, but by far keshi will go down in history as one of the best coaches in African football, no one woud have given the homebased players a chance, yet he was able to integrate them into †ђξ team, he blended them wit their foreign professionals and made them a important part of the squad, he is also a disciplinarian, and someone who brings the best out of his players, mikel has never been this good under any previous national team coach, no one knows mba before keshi era...

Lest, i forget he has never lost any match prior to the confed cup in brazil, and yet to lose to an african opponent, dats impressive, face it mr. Bonfere jo, stephen keshi is a better coach than you were, than you are and than you would ever be, that's the bitter truth!

Enjoy your retirement sire! Watch the super eagles qualify for the world cup, perform well at the competition, and hoopefully win the competition. As for me and many other naija football fans, we are happy and impressed with the team, your opinion does not matter.

Listen to who is talking! He lost the African Cup Of Nations finals on home soil to Cameroun, the only opportunity we had to retire the old Unity Cup. And he even lost 1-0 to Sierra Leone in Freetown in the World Cup Qualifiers. It was this same Stephen Keshi he is maligning and Amodu Shuaibu that brough Nigeria out of the ditch he had slunk us into. I just wish Keshi would ignore these detractors in White Skin. JMOI: Why all this fuss?? Lampard, Balotelli, Lambert, Le Tissier are all great penalty takers. And any goalkeeper can catch Balotelli's penalty, it's all about luck, there are three possible outcomes: he scores, the goalkeeper catches it, he misses the net entirely. So the probability of a goalkeeper catching it remains 1/3. Even Enyimba's goalkeeper can catch it.
THREAD CLOSED!

My friend, its not luck. Its a skill and its major component is psychological mind warfare. Please Stop being childish. How can you say Enyimba goalkeeper can catch Balotelli's penalty?? I am no fan of Balotelli. But I give it to him that he is the master of the art of spot kicks. Are you implying that Enyimba's goalkeeper can be mentioned in the same breath as elite goalkeepers like Joe Hart,Gigi Buffon,Roman Wiedenfeller,Hugo Lloris and Petr Cech who at one time or the other have been beaten from the spot by the enigmatic Italian?
