Our 33 year old Registrar was a pioneer student. He holds a doctorate In human resource management and he is in line to become one of the youngest professors in the country. If you had a budget of 700,000 to cover tuition, accomodation, books, library, and internet fees, would you send your child abroad when a university in Nigeria offers same teaching methods with most Universities abroad with an added advantage of raising a young, mature, thoroughly educated and vice free individual? I had admissions to study abroad but i chose here, even if some of the rules are quite unnecessary, i am in love with their vision, so i am committed to obeying those unnecessary rules. Thank you

I am a student here and even if I dont support a three week suspension for double piercing, we all signed an undertaking with respect to these rules and breaking these rules is equal to a breach of contract which is legally punishable. These rules are basic rules any responsible person wouldnt have a hard time obeying. As for the spillover issue, i think we are second best in Nigeria for a reason, and one of those reasons are the high standards here which are rarely compromised. Anything below 45 is an F and if anyone feels he is not comfortable with it, he should go to a Federal university where he can buy grades or pass with a 36. Like I always say, we are soaring, take a seat and watch if you dont want to come out of your comfort zones and soar with us

cooljude: I just asked my Dad. We are from Nsukka. He attest to the fact that it is a mixed village but it is a traditional Nsukka town. He said most of the other tribes migrated from their original settlement and any Igbo person would know that ndi Nsukka are very hospitable people, they welcome strangers with open hands and their were lots of inter-tribal marriage between this groups. That is why you would see a mixture of Igbo,Idoma and Igala. State your own point if you feel otherwise.

pazienza: Apparently, the Igalla elements of the town, want the town to be in Kogi, to sort of give them greater power in the town,seeing as there are more Igallas in Kogi. A move that would render the Igbo and Idoma elements as minorities. And it would appear that this battle is not recent, but have been on for decades now.

IDK where you getting the concept that ette has the best buildings. Unless I'm mistaking but the area is not the place you describing. It's not all huts like the other guy said but it's definitely not all great buildings. Then again, judging from your stanch, you most likely from ette so that's expected of you.

Lordlexyy: Etteh is my community. Boundary wise, the community is situated in Enugu state. In terms of culture, it has very little in connection with the Idomas and not the Igalas. The language spoken are predominantly Idoma. Igbo language comes second for areas that are regarded as igbos. Igala language is meanly spoken by some few who believe they are Igalas. To be honest, the Etteh community ideologically believes they are Igbos and has very little in connection to both the Igalas and the Idomas. You find most of the people there speaking the three languages fluently and intermix very well. This whole crisis of identity wouldn't have surfaced in the first place if the not for some of the Igbos and their culture of segregation where others are regarded more Igbos than the others. The same people will say Enugu or Ebonyi is not pure Igbo but 'wawa', some Enugu will say Etteh is not pure Igbo but a mixture of two. If Etteh was long embrace and made to feel among by the Igbos, none of this cultural conflict would have surface. Those minority group wanting to joint Kogi are doing so because they felt they majority are more recognised and therefore benefit more by the Enugu gov't. Inspite of the upheaval, i believe the brotherliness and oneness of Etteh is beyond culture, language or tribe. PROUDLY ETTEH.

On serious note though, I think I see where they are coming from, I know I have the exact feelings when it comes to my own community. Personally, I believe they should conduct a referedum, the group that wants to join kogi can join kogi and the ones that want to stay in Enugu state can stay. Well then again, who knows, it might be a mixed situation. The groups villages might be intertwined so dividing it might be difficult. Who knows. One thing I know for sure, it's stupid what happened. Aren't they supposed to be kinsmen? So why are they killing themselves because of states? Stupidity on the highest.

As for the person that stated Ette is a mixed community. Unless I'm mistaking but I could have sworn Ette is predominately an Igala community residing close to Igbo community. the Igbos and Igalas do not share Ette. The area is just close to Igbo towns.
