Nairaland / General / The Desperation Of Girls To Get Married! by elebanimi: 1:42am On Oct 24, 2010
There seem to be a growing despartion among ladies to get married. And this despeartion has increased due to the pressure from society, family and friends. A lady btw the ages of 28-35 wld tell u more. And once u are btw this age u are considered by some to hav a problem. There also seem to be other reasons, it's like there is an increse in marriageable girls and sharp decrease in marriageable men. and that can be attributed to the socail and fianancial status a man is reqd to reach b4 being considered to be responsible and good enuf to marry.

I see a social time bomb exploding several hundred of years from now, cause there wld be so a many women willing but not married, I hear there it is written somewhere say na 7 women to 1 man. Girls are aware of these and so some give in to the pressure and marry just man , some wld hav to be a 2nd 3rd or 4th wife else u are on your own. Some wld be willing to be a single parent and jsut have a child without being officially married(just be bear mama segun, emeka, and isa). some go be lesbian. Watch out many nairaland girls are in these category.lol

I am a man but i admit it is not easy being a woman in a man's world. I pity alot of sisters i c, if u look deep around u wld find "SERIUOSLY SERACHING" written on the fore head of some girls. Men are becoming aware, especially successful men and they are taking full advantage of it.

So to my despaerate sister's , we know it when u are desperate and most times u regret the actions that u take.
Nairaland / General / The Frustrartion Of Being Unemployed by elebanimi: 1:38am On Oct 24, 2010
The frustration of being unemployed for about 1 year is beginning to hit me. As a young man committed to excellence in life and Godliness, a sentence that best describes my predicament now is "Life is not smiling". I think more starting is knowing the huge responsibility hanging on my neck, many mouths to feed, helping my family and mother be financially okay combined with my desire to live the good life and be a blessing to humanity.

All of these was what inspired me to finish amongst the top of my class during undergrad days and work so hard during NYSC so i cld live up to my expectations. With no father and rich but unwilling extended family members the burden is begginning to weigh me down. I am a man who wld prefer to spend my idle time reading, learning a differnet language, learning a trade , just making sure every 24 hrs i am going to bed a better person who has learnt something new. But My idleness has lead me to many things i am not proud of, like nagging my very own family, masturbation, pornography, loneliness and so many. I am not happy about all these but just maybe if i had the finance i wld hav spent it doing more productive things before that job or business clicks.

I really do need some advice cause alot depends on me and i can't afford to fail. I hear stories of people idle and jobless for years maybe 5,7, 10 years. If u are reading this and u are in this category, my guy u deserve a Nobel prize. cause i can't even think about it. So fellow nairalander's what do u advice? am i alone? or should i just 4get about my big dreams and live my life whichever way it goes? Thank u in anticipation for your advice, pls don't dull me.
