Politics / Re: ASUU Demanded For N3tn, Not N130bn by ElijahAde(m): 10:38am On Oct 03, 2013
If ASUU demands 3 Trillion Naira, what happens to the annual allocation, subventions, grants, TETfund, STEP-B, world bank assisted funds? It is crazy. The money available are wasted and underutilized, yet ASUU is demanding that they put more money into Universities for infrastructure. While I'm not against more funding, ASUU should be reasonable and realistic. Government cannot spend monies not budgeted for. They should make sure the funds available are properly utilised before more funds are injected into the system. What happens to polytechnics, colleges of Education, Technical schools, and other government agencies, don't they need funds too? Now I see, ASUU is the problem. They want to be at par with our legislators. It is greed, selfishness and nothing more. ASUU should be disbanded.
Politics / Re: Will You Rate President Jonathan's Media Chat Poor Or Impressive? by ElijahAde(m): 10:50am On Sep 30, 2013
Of the two options, Mr president was never near being impressive, yet I won't say he's totally poor. On assessment, he seems to lack ability to coherently articulate his thoughts. Evident of what we call Nigerian English (NE) abounds in his communication flow.( A case of thinking in one's mother tongue and expressing same in English. He sounds so pedestrian and resist straight forward answers to simple questions. Mr president does not show he truly grasps fundamental and burning national issues thus he trivialise most of them. On ASUU, there appears to be no end in sight as GEJ could not properly articulate his visions to end the imbroglio. The same goes for power, infrastructure, security and economy.
