Wawu....thank you for the info. Are there other cheap and safe alternatives. Even on kjiji is high.
salford1:

You need to be careful with beddings and sofas though. Bed bugs are common here.

Thanks a lot. I haven't landed. Looking to land sometime in April. Will look at those.

slimlanre:

On the bolded, if you just recently landed, how about visiting immigrant services in Calgary. They can provide you with basically everything you need, all for free. I know several families that have benefited from their services. From sofas, beds, pots, dining table, etc, you can get from them.

Cheers!

Hi everyone, please this is a question for my Calgary people. Can I please have tips on furnishing an apartment. Most of the ads come as unfurnished...the cost of beds and sofas I saw online are crazy and will probably have a slight dent on one's Pof.

Secondly, is there anyone that's accessed grant or/and loan from Alberta student aid. What was the process like. Osap seems very straightforward than Alberta's.

Good day house, please who was able to successfully cargo goods to Ottawa. My sister was informed at mma that they only cargo to Calgary and Toronto. Please would appreciate any link or contact.

Thanks.

Hello house...still trying to catch up with Part 4.

I am a bit worried here...is there anyone that's experienced this. AOR was 28 Apr and I am yet to see Med Passed. Meanwhile all the timelines I see, Med Passed is usually a week after AOR. I even contacted the hospital and it was confirmed that results were uploaded.

I cannot be worrying at this stage ooo. Please I need assurance

My HR doesn't give letter in cic format and does not include job duties. This is a reference on a plain sheet hence the notarization required [quote author=Sugaro post=66405490]

Congratulations on your ppr @linuslynx.
Please I'd like to contact you via pm. I need help with a contact for the notarization of the reference letter and vetting the reference. The person I contacted is billing me seriously. Also, what kind of work mails can one add to the documents submitted that will not breach confidentiality. Thanks.

Elfmannisback:

State it as you just did on an LOE.. In addition, Republic of Benin doesn't give non citizens any PCC.
Thanks for your response. I actually saw somewhere online that Benin doesn't issue pcc to non citizens but is there any official document to back it up. So its safe to state that i was in a school in Benin Rep under my personal history. then put an LOE stating that passport was not stamped but i had right of entry with an ecowas passport(i don't want it to look like i entered illegally) and the country does not issue pcc to non citizens?

Hello house. Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.
Please help weigh in on this.
I am filling the personal history on the eApr form. The issue is this, I was in Cotonou for about 5/6 months to study French while I was waiting for my nysc batch but my passport was never stamped (Na to just cross border with cabs and okada) and I didn't process pcc for the country. Isn't it safe to state that period as unemployed? If I state that I was studying in another country, I might be asked to provide pcc. Please note that I did DELF exams and got certificates for them.

@encoded4life I saw that you raised something similar on this. How did you go about resolving the issue.

Elders come to my rescue please: @40manlappy @glitteringstar @dupyshoo @happytbaby

Thank you wonderful people for the responses @dupyshoo, @happytbaby @nat138. I am actually evaluating my bsc and msc. I guess i'd have to remove the bsc then as it will be more stressful and time consuming. However, I have plans of doing a bridge program or take up certifications upon landing. Would I require the ECA of my first degree for this?

You will have to evaluate your diploma as well. I know of someone who had the same issue, the assessment was put on hold for over a year until he provided the diploma transcripts.

Good afternoon everyone.

Please Is there anyone who obtained a degree following a diploma from unilag and successfully evaluated his/her BSC/BA degree with WES. I received the status update on my Wes and don't know how to go about it.

Please note that I am not trying to evaluate my diploma. Apparently, the transcript shows from 200L-400L.

Thanks for the response in advance.

Hi....you can get any correspondence/letter addressed to you with your house address on it. You can also get another bank's if you have more than one. Alternatively, get one of your parents(the one whose name is on the utility bill for your home address) to do a letter that you live with with them and do not have any proof of address in your name and submit two utility bills in the parents name(e.g. lawma and electricity). That's what I was told to do though when I had issues with mine.

CannyDoll:
Top of the morning people, I am trying to get my PCC from the UK and they are requesting 2 proof of address, I can get one from the bank, I still live with my parents therefore house bills are not in my name. Has anyone done a UK PCC from Nigeria? Pls what did you use for proof of address. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi duppyshoo, congrats to your sis. Was the employment reference letter in cic format? Still struggling with how to get mine. My employer does not give the letter in cic format. I intend to include my offer letter, promotion letter, ID card and payslips(if I can get any) will that suffice?

Thanks

If I recall Vcole's earlier posts, I believe she wasn't aware she was 8 weeks gone when she had her Medicals. And her baby was fine. Not that I'm advising you do the same and feign knowledge of your pregnancy. grin

Dear Vcole, were you already pregnant prior to the medicals and how far long were you...sorry if the question is too personal. I've heard that when you do X-ray with the protective lead jacket, it's still not safe for someone in the first trimester. Don't know how true it is. Which of the hospitals did you use then. Thanks for the response.

vcole:
not true @bolded. You would ne given the option of wearing a lead protective jacket and get the xray done or defer d xray until after the baby is born. The choice is yours.

Exactly @newmum0615. All I did was learn the tips for the sections and that made practising easier.

For those needing tips. Road to ielts (for those that register with British Council) and ielts advantage cover it all.

Newmum0615:
As in ehn. I didn't even use any of that Cambridge 1-12 ish but I had an 8.5.
I think people put too much emphasis on the study materials and not so much on learning the tips and putting in efforts to really practice and identify their problems areas. If you like attend daily classes in BC, if you do not practice and understand the tips to identifying the answers, you might not make much progress. It's my own opinion sha.
