oliverjiad: Don't be silly. Both of you are dubious people who have taken money from hard working and honest people. Can you not make the connection? I guess we have to wait for you to collect "payment of millions for demurrage" before a thread is made by the OP. Right? It is disgustingly audacious of you to keep posting nonsense. A genuine person would have paid and have this issue contained before it got to nairaland. But just like inspired, you only offered to pay once your dubious activities has been posted on here. Mssshew omo Iya inspired oshi. No self respect and always thinking they won't be caught. 8 Likes |

It is disgusting that money is charged after an agreement. Even more disgusting that the delivered goods had parts missing. The OP has now paid in two or three places that should never have been. What the heck is wrong with small-minded Nigerians always looking to make a quick buck at the expense of good name and integrity? The OP may have written his post poorly but the point has been made. Can the alleged "clearing agent" explain some of the questions posed to him? Disgusting behaviour. If you are a real business man, why is he having to wait till end of the month to get his money? Did you waited that long when you charged him? No, he paid up. Some people make me want to vomit. Mssshew oshi oda rara mehn. 2 Likes |

emalekuo: And this is how we allow bullshit to fester. If the OP is keen on letting it go or do not want to seek a redress, he won't come out to talk about it. No offence, but I dislike minds like yours. 9 Likes |

What's your price for 2005 Acura MDX from Cotonou abeg. |

General logic suggest you may need a new battery, and like others have mentioned, get a specialist to look at it. I hope you get it sorted. Kudos to taking that kind of car to naija. Same way I say Kudos to those who take Ferrari or use super car in Naija. The mind boggles. |

Carbaby007: Why should you be called? How long have you been doing this? It is a big ask to let a total stranger take control of 1m naira plus car or any amount for that matter. Who are you? How long have you been driving for? What's your experience in this line of work etc. What cars have you delivered in the past? Don't just post a picture of a lady with a car, anyone can do that and set it up or pose for one. Do you have any other way of earning our customs or trust? I think it is time people start asking robust questions. |

Brother, I am a potential customer and all I see is someone who claim to buy cars from Cotonou etc. I am yet to see a proof that you actually do or have made successful purchase in the past. Where are the vehicles you've delivered to clients or customers? Do you have an office? A business card? A face to the business? Do you have a pedigree? These are some of the question that needs answer. All I see is someone posting various images of good looking cars and asking for potential customers to just trust him with their hard earned money. Come on now, it sort of look suspicious. Now I am not saying you are a fraud but can you provide some proof that you've done this before in the past and that you can be trusted? 50k for the average naija man is a lot of money. You've asked potential customers to trust you a lot but without giving us a reason go do so. Oya your turn. Your move. |

Tadeus: Quote for 2005 Acura MDX please. Could I have prices for the actual car, custom duties and your charges please. Thanks. |

oviecardealer: Thanks. Will be in touch. Abeg why the big jump in price for the 2005 model? They are essentially the same thing as the 2004 version and no much difference in appearances and specification. |

Qualer: I was just about to say. A car-meet up of some kind and it looks like a race track. Also the plate numbers aren't iin Arabic. LOL. Oh well, we learn everyday. |

It boils down to personal preference I think. They are mostly the same in all the fields you mentioned. Or overall, they are mostly the same. It does appear that there's a popularity of Toyota in naija and that may mean more parts and know-how services being available. As for price it all depends on the car you want isn't. I am at a dilemma initially too as I wanted a Lexus (Toyota) 330 of 2005 but the price quote is IMO too expensive for something I would only use for few times in the year when I'm around. Now, the comparable or direct rival to RX 330 will be the Acura (Honda) MDX. And for a 2005 model I'll spend almost a million less than the Toyota (Lexus) equivalent. So, from that angle, the Honda seem cheaper for me. Sorry if my explanation isn't giving you direct answer but I think both are similar and it all boils down to what you want and perhaps your budget (if you are looking at RX 330 v Acura MDX like I am) I hope that helps. 1 Like |

Siena: Brother. Good to see you too. Got tired of it all and needed to be away jare. I am after a jeep for naija so I'm back lol. Abeg what's your take on Acura MDX? I really value your input abeg. (Op, please no vex if my post is derailing your thread. I really like the MDX and just wanna hear the views of people on it) |

Pataki: Wow really? Un-freak!ng-believable. No to derail this thread but kilode mehn. Smh. The anger in me right now, I fit stab the dealer and I'm not a violent person rara at all. |

Well done. I think that looks clean. I have a CRV here iin the UK and it comes with roof rails as standard. However, I have the MDX down as one of the cars I need for naija so I will be watching with keen eyes. I doubt you'll get a lot of response as per modifications projects here. I hope I am wrong though. Finally, it would be nice to hear your view of the MDX. A mini review if you like and what to be on the look out for if buying one etc. |

pato405: Glad we are on same side. Meanwhile, I think Autos section could do with a sticky thread that can be used as a guide price for those looking to buy. You know, popular cars and the price range they go for. Yeah it isn't definitive but can help potential buyers have a guage of what to expect. Probably throw in the typical agent prices in there too. It will be s lot of work though as it will require constant updating. . . . or buyers can just do their own research lol. |

Can I get a quote that will get the car to lagos for the following: 2004 Lexus RX 330 2005 Honda Element 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavour 2005 Toyota Highlander Thanks. |

pato405: Brother, I wonder if you read what I posted past the first few lines. I agree with your original post. That couldn't be more clearer in my previous post. Sometimes e be like say people just wan needlessly argue. Showing the view of the seller do not directly mean I agree with it. But it is always a balanced approach to look at both sides. ![]() |
![]() |
pato405: I think we have to see it from the sellers point of view. They think only serious people will make effort to find out about the price etc. Personally, I disagree. As you stated, the price should always be present so as to give a buyer a complete information and of it is within their purchasing power or budget. I like the RX 330 and would like to know the price. Hardly will I now start asking for prices via DM etc. |

patlead: tempex88: ![]() ![]() OP Well done for doing your research. 800k or any hard earned money is not what one can afford to lose. Just a few advise: Find out as much as you can about your potential seller. The more you know, the less chance of you losing your money. Do they have a naija banm that correspond with the name they gave you? Ask questions if they want you to put in a different account that may be or may not be in Nigeria. Do they have a physical office? Ask about the delear or seller around their office, you are bound to get some useful respond. Be mindful of paying upfront. If you are willing to pay upfront, make sure it is an amount that one can write off easily should the need be. Don't pay 90% upfront. It is too risky. Ask for vin numbers, car pictures, documents. . . anything to show what you are buying isn't a mirage. And so on. . . some of these stuff you already know or done more than this but remember, it is your money and you work hard for it. 1 Like |
