frozen70: My point exactly. Men can be so irresponsible with money. |

infogenius: Still makes no sense, are you borrowing to meet the needs of your family or to do business you have told the banl you plan to do. The truth is this, men are more irresponsible with money and thats the sorry truth. The man will borrow money and will go and drink beer and sponsor side chicks with money he doesn't have while the woman faces the business squarely. I wasn't surprised when i saw the Tread because, its so so true. A perfect example is the stupid owner of HITV, got a loan from GTB, took away super sports from DSTV, he has created a rival brand and was doing well till he went and started buying properties and cars and a yatch with the loan he took from the bank. No sense, so irresponsible. HITV is dead today because of one irresponsible man. 3 Likes |

alanwanyiasaba: Sadly, we are yet to understand that both APC and PDP are useless to the growth of the Country, we are yet to understand that both parties have failed to deliver and will continue to fail. PDP members defected to APC when they perceived that things were going to be bad and sided with APC, was that in the interest of you and me? NO, they moved for themselves. Saraki is equally as useless as APC. We are so stupid and blind to see that it's we the people and these politicians that will change parties like they are changing clothes not because they wish to fight for the country. I see no changes at all, dead beat politicians moving from one party to another doesnt impress me. Its not progress. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Interview Etiquette 101: My Personal Experience As A Recruiter by elwhizzy: 4:54pm On Aug 01, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Dude, you have never been a recruiter, there are other things people look for when they seek for the best people to occupy certain roles, its not just qualifications but also attention to details and such silly things like daft email addresses. You think its easy to read through 17,892 CV's? Whoever wants the the job needs to be better and sensible. |

angelbulksms: I agree totally, there are soft skills that will make you rise in any organization like these points you have mentioned but who sees all these skills when you are sending a CV? The CV gets you to the table, how you handle yourself during the interview gets you the job, these remaining skills will keep you valuable to the company 1 Like |

LaudableXX: I disagree with you totally, you think its bias and laziness, i think not. Who would you prefer if you were a recruiter? bigboss4you@gmail.com or tony.Umufo@gmail.com. Seeing these two mails alone will likely tell you the state of mind of the applicant. There are too many mails and CVs to go through, so recruiters who seek out people with above average reasoning. The ones with formal email addresses are thought to be more thoughtful and better prepared. Its basic practice, . will Aliko Dangote use an email address like brosaliBillionnaire@gmail.com. We need to start being reasonable. Put yourself in the shoes of the recruiters, what would you do? Your email address is a sieving process in itself. 1 Like |

project4OO: Another stupid comment, what does "in a working society..." have to do with this? This is not peculiar to Nigeria alone, it happens everywhere. Some people will never get their CV's read with this victim-hood mindset. 1 Like |

phemmyfour: I'm amazed by the level of immaturity by a lot of comments i have seen here today. The OP is telling you all how to have a compelling CV but many are here arguing and bickering and talking about what you know nothing about. Would it kill you to have an e-mail for recruitment purposes alone? Call the recruiters lazy all you want this is standard practice. Do you think if you want to apply for a grant or a scholarship, your email address won't be used to access you? These companies don't really care about your email address but they want to know if you can do a little more than the average job seeker. Whats wrong with setting yourself apart from being average? Anyone that has a great CV will equally have the common sense to do a little more to ensure the CV is seen. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Saff: A very racist comment. then we later complain that whites are racist. The truth is this, we are all racist, the majority of black people hate black people but in their minds, the only definition of racism is when a white man hates other races. |

Career / Re: what software should a young Civil/Structural Engineer learn? by elwhizzy: 8:45am On Jun 25, 2018 |
Wonderful write up. I must just make this known for the sake of emphasis. Please, learn Autocad 2D. I say this for the following reasons, -There are more employment opportunities for people who know autocad 2D as fresh graduates. -Autocad makes learning other design software easy for you -It is easy to learn -Autocad 2D is used in most companies to do detailing and design. -Its still the most used software in engineering and drafting. As you lean other software, my advice is, learn Autocad along the way, if all these other numerous software dont get you in, believe me, Autocad will. 4 Likes |
