Fecko’s highly anticipated collaborative project with revered hip-hop producer – Teck-Zilla is finally out. The EP, aptly titled titled A.R.T, an acronym for “Afrobeat, Rhythm & Truth”, is a Fela-inspired project, that fuses different genres of music – say hip-hop, afro-pop, and lots more – on a single compilation.

The EP is an exclusive production of Str8 Buttah producer – Teck-Zilla and it features Nigerian artistes Maka, Phlow, the legendary Modenine, Halogen, Villy, Tupengo, Shukid and Khaligraph Jones (from Kenya), Dominant-1 (from Malawi), The Holstar (from Zambia) and Raiza Biza (from Rwanda/New Zealand).

Nigerians are really sleeping on all the rappers you listed. Especially Pherowshuz and Fecko. They both recorded one cool song like that. I am just hearing of Phlow by the way.

Yeah, that was off the Blood, Sweat, Tears and Years mixtape.

You should listen to Phlow's Reputation. She is an intelligent lyricist.

Watch this video to get a feel of what to expect when Afrobeat, Rhythm & Truth drops. Peeps in the video also had some things to say about the legendary Fela Kuti, who obviously inspired the project.

Anticipate nothing short of a classic EP.

Comment and kindly share. Bless!

The Y.A.W.A (Years After We Arrived) Ep by Double Six who is a veteran Nigerian music producer /rapper is one of the illest EPs this year, it's a 6 track masterpiece. It dropped two months ago tho but it's surely one the hip hop heads should cop.

Music/Radio / Nigerian Hiphop EPs And Mixtapes To Anticipate This Season by emarketer1: 11:02am On Nov 19, 2015
So far in 2015, Nigerian rappers like Modenine, Reminisce, Falz, Illbliss, Boogey, AQ and Blaqbonez have released solid Hiphop projects that were quite impressive.

Well, the movement is still in motion and I believe here are some Hiphop EPs/Mixtapes to look out for this season

1. G.O.D‬ (Grabbing Our Destiny) by T.R (Terry Tha Rapman)
‪2. A.R.T‬ (Afrobeat, Rhythm & Truth) by Fecko Tha Emcee & Teck Zilla
3. Mind, Body And Phlow‬ by Phlow
‪4. The Waiters Theory‬ by Gedes
5. I Am Pherow by Pherowshuz

If you know any other forthcoming naija rap project dropping before the year runs out, kindly comment with your list as well.

PS: Is Eva Alordiah still going to release her 1960 EP this year? Hmm, I wonder....

No love when a rapper drops a sick Hiphop tune. And they don't hesitate to hate immediately they notice the same Hiphop artist has gone commercial.

We're all familiar with some top notch MCs in Naija at the moment, names like Modenine, M.I & Phyno come to mind when we're talking about illest rappers in the country, those are the guys at the top, what about the underground MCs who are not as popular, but have been putting in work for a good number of years and have earned their respect even from the Rappers in the limelight. Here's my top 5. Feel free to add yours.

4.Fecko - I have to say, besides his rapping skills, this dude hustles hard as well. His recent single 'Hustle Over Feelings' says it all. Check him out.

Music/Radio / Fecko Announces New Collabo With Modenine And Talks About Forthcoming EP by emarketer1: 10:27am On Aug 17, 2015
During Fecko's feature on Music, Video and More which recently aired on STV and AIT, the HOF crooner talked about his forthcoming EP with Teck-Zilla.

"The EP is going to be a Hip-Hop/Afrobeat project and should drop during Felabration" - said the fast rising rapper in a recent TV show which he hosted.

Apart from Modenine who blessed the EP with a solid verse, Fecko will be spreading his tentacles to other African countries and hopes to feature revered Kenyan femcee and former Sony Music signee, Xtatic.

Str8Buttah/Chocolate City's Teck-Zilla would be handling the entire production on the project which is tentatively titled ArtFro B.E.A.S.T.

We anticipate nothing short of a classic from the artiste whose buzzing single - Hustle Over Feelings (HOF) is currently climbing charts nationwide. Peeped the video yet?? Check it out below:

Music/Radio / Finally! Real Rap Songs Now On A Mainstream Radio Chart Show! by emarketer1: 12:37pm On Aug 11, 2015
Once upon a time, rap songs like Gino's "No Be God", Modenine's "Cry", Ruggedman's "Ehen" and Da Trybe's "Oya" were notable songs that were featured on popular Nigerian music chart shows, but ever since the advent of the "Local Rappers" movement, mediocre hip-hop songs eclipsed intelligent rap songs on such radio chart shows.

Recently listened to the MTN Yello Countdown a while ago, and I was happy to find two rap anthems on the charts namely "Karashika" by Falz and "Hustle Over Feelings" by Fecko. It's still a good sign even though both songs were featured on the Underground Buzz segment of the renowned radio chart show which airs across Nigeria every Friday/Saturday.

Check out the complete playlist in the pic below and also watch the videos for both songs incase you haven't
