Family / Re: Nigerian Nanny Gets $121,000 Pay Check From Oppressive Nsobundu Couple by ememamike(m): 7:15pm On Jan 06, 2018
The couple deserved the punishment they got. However, that amount seems high because even me with masters degree, I can't make such money within two years in US except that she worked for 20 hours instead of 8 hours a day.

Nairaland / General / Advice Needed On Package Withheld By DSS by ememamike(m): 11:49pm On Jun 04, 2017
Hello Everyone!

I need serious advice on how to handle this situation.

I sent a package(two iphones and one samsung) to a friend in Nigeria from the USA through FedeX. When the package got to Lagos, custom found it dutiable and my friend paid for it. DSS (department of state security) later held the package and requested for the data page of my international passport and my friend National ID and we provided those information, still the package is not released. On Saturday, one of the DSS guy called me asking me to do something if not they will cease my phones. I don't know what he want me to do since we have provided him with the necessary information and they have verified the relationship between me and my friend.

Have anyone experience something like this with the DSS? If so, how do you solved it? Also advice from anyone is welcome because I really don't know what to do and the phones are extremely expensive phones.

Thanks for your advice.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Hope For A Graduate by ememamike(m): 6:25pm On Jun 02, 2017
Most people in Nigeria have been through difficult situations but I can tell you for such that suicide is not the way out. I hope my story blesses someone.

I was 2years old when my father died and I was in SS2 when my mom died. As an orphan in Nigeria, life was a mystery but God was in charged. I finished from secondary school, got admission into university and I graduated with a teaching skill and ability to form different products through chemical reactions. Upon graduation, every connections I had failed and I decided to made up posters for home lesson. I got a home lesson and I was tutoring a family kids for N10,000 a month. I ALSO started going from door to door of employers looking for job. I eventually got a teaching job for N28,000 a month. With the help of God, I made it to US for my masters and now life is much better.

What skills did you gain from school? Most opportunities are hidden in what you have and in what you can do. Put your skills to use and trust GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART and watch your life transform for good!

Feel free to email me if you have questions at primeconsultancy@yahoo.com

God bless you all!
