Kirin 990 is a 2019 soc which beats even sd855+
Kirin 1000 which is 5nm 2020 soc isn't even released it's meant to compete with a14 bionic which is also 5nm and sd865/sd865+ .
Huawei p40 pro is using kirin 990 which is a 2019 soc. Meanwhile s20 ultra is using sd865 which is a 2020 soc.

Concerning the thinner bezels, Samsung have a thinner bezels when compared to the p40pro except that the p40pro uses curved on 4 sides which makes it appear more thinner

All the improvements you experienced are simply cosmetic..... That's why the olosho's yungsmart visits, are all cosmetically looking different.... Some years ago, they looked like agbári Ojukwu..... Now looking like yellow paw paw.....

When there's a substantial upgrade over previous updates, then it's a must have.... The camera software upgrade and the Night light should have been made available to others.

So I handled the refurbished umidigi A3pro running Android 9 today, my God!!! The phone was fast, everything was running smooth. I noticed some twerks that umidigi should have made available to other old A3 owners via OTA updates, the camera now have a dedicated Bokeh icon in the camera app instead of going to camera settings to select depth of focus, the camera software is updated as well, the camera now take brighter and more realistic pictures ( I compared it with my A3, mine was just dark beside his), there's now a notification icon for night light, something I use third apps for. There are other things too... But I'm disappointed umidigi left us with the phone, without any update coming since March or February.

Samsung runs a separate OS on their phones apart from stock Android, so for every Android upgrades, they have to do some tweaking to the OS so as to be compatible with Android hence it takes time before the update

And they release monthly updates too, so I don't know your point, even s9 and note 9 now have a dedicated night mode settings cia updates something iPhone haven't done with their xsmax

And lemme tell you, every phone is certified by a body after passing through rigorous testing before it's given an IP rating not that the phone brand just slam an IP rating on the phone..an each IP rating have specifications, like for IP68, it can only be submerged in a fresh water 30m deep for less than 15 minutes. No company advertises that the phone can resist salt water, cause salt water tends to dissolve more faster than fresh water, so going to the beach to swim with your phone is risky even with the so called jackless iPhones
